The Inn is charming and full of immenities (including Tums). Our rooms were very tastefully furnished and the beds great. The common areas were all inviting. Especially nice were the individually prepared hot breakfasts. But what really made our stay remarkable was the Innkeeper Josie, who truly went out of her to make our stay enjoyable as well as comfortable. We had an early morning flight out of SFO and she got up early to prepare our breakfast at 6:30 so we could depart by 7. This was way, way above the expected. Kudos to her. If you ever find youself in the Bay area, this is the place you'd want to stay!

We had a fabulous 3 night stay while in town visiting family. House was well appointed, inviting main level common areas, great layout with all suites upstairs. We were able to come and go in this centrally located neighborhood area close to stores & restaurants; easy access to freeway. The house is peaceful, beautifully decorated, and quiet. Although there were other guests, we only came across one other person in passing on the stairs. Plenty of parking in the driveway. Only small thing that could be improved was the outdoor deck furniture cushions of our suite could have used a good cleaning but I suppose it's a little more difficult to keep fabric clean outside. We had the tasty made-to-order breakfast two of the three mornings (saw the resident squirrel scrambling all over in the trees), innkeeper Ann was talkative and extremely accommodating. We also met Maria our last morning, great cook. We have already decided to stay here on our next trip to the Bay Area.

You would have to drive, into what is a very beautiful property delicately decorated. It has a feel of a romantic, quaint intimate feeling, yet catered also to the corporate clientele. The agent greeted us and gave me a cottage cheese and a yogurt to my son, seeing we arrived in the late evening close to 9:00pm. The rooms are modern and very clean, and the decoration has a kind of minimalistic feel to it, but very classy. The bathrooms are Unique with white and red shades. The breakfast was probably the highlight of our stay having a full on breakfast buffet, eggs, bacon, muffins, scones, and a full-on coffee machine, and the seating was very nice, but small. Rooms don't run cheap but I do feel it's worth every penny for the experience. They also forgot to mention have like this mini backyard in the room, super cute and private.

Our room overlooked the pool which we did not use because we were too comfortable in our room. The room had 2 TV's - one in the living area and another in the bedroom. The only con was the cable reception/connection was fuzzy for the channel we were watching - so it was not a good connection. The bathroom had every toiletry you could possibly want from make up removal, shower cap, two different types of soap, etc. I've been to fancier hotels that hardly had anything. They get 5* for stocking the bathroom with many amenities. There was coffee, water and tea in the room as well as in the office/reception area. There was also a little dish of assorted candies (snack size kit kat, almond joy, etc.) for those with a sweet tooth. Free parking which is always nice. Complimentary breakfast from 6:30 - 9:30 had many choices: guava juice, orange juice, milk, packaged cold cereal, oatmeal with various toppings, yogurt, fruit cup, hard boiled eggs, bananas, apples, small pastries, assorted breads you can toast, folded omelette, egg bite and sweet potatoes. What more could you want? There's something for everyone! You can easily drive downtown to shop with lots of restaurant options. Room rate will vary depending on the date. Highly recommend.

I had ordered a bottle of sparkling wine for the table, and when he poured it into our glasses, I immediately noticed that it was still warm. I politely asked if he could chill it a little more, but I got the impression that he was not happy with my request. We then stepped away briefly to take some pictures and, when we returned, our waiter was nowhere to be found. We then stepped away briefly to take some pictures and, when we returned, our waiter was nowhere to be found. We waited quite some time before he finally came back to take our order. Once we ordered, the food also took a while to arrive. Throughout the meal, we repeatedly had to ask for basic items such as utensils, glasses, and napkins. Overall, the service was extremely disappointing and disorganized. I ordered the salmon dish, which was not particularly flavorful and was also quite expensive for the quality. The bottle of sparkling wine eventually made it back to the table, but it still wasn't chilled properly. The ambiance was another disappointment. The hotel, which looked beautiful in the photos online, felt much less appealing in person and looked more like a motel than the upscale property portrayed on the website. To make matters worse, we were charged a 22% service charge despite the poor level of service we received. Unfortunately, this experience did not live up to my expectations, and I would not recommend this place.

From the moment the bellman greeted us, we knew we were in for a treat. Parking was super easy to find since it's an open lot. I checked in earlier which was great because I didn't have to wait until the 3 pm check-in time like at other hotels. Our room on the fourth floor was beautiful, boasting a lovely view and an integrated AC system which was a nice touch. While a microwave would have been a convenient addition, the room was well-appointed with a fridge, desk, and TV. The bathroom having two sinks was a huge plus. The hotel itself is surprisingly expansive, with long hallways adorned with photos of notable Stanford alumni, showcasing a proud connection to the university. The amenities truly impressed us. We enjoyed a relaxing dip in the pool and jacuzzi, which thankfully stayed open until 10 pm. Later, we savored drinks at the elegant bar before settling by the cozy outdoor fire pit. The hot, freshly baked cookies served nightly from 7 pm to 10 pm were a delightful bonus! The seamless Wi-Fi connection was also a plus. We also appreciated the convenience of The Menlo Tavern, the hotel's connected restaurant, which I had visited before without realizing its hotel affiliation. Despite a minor confusion regarding the breakfast package (it's for one person, so be aware if booking for two!), our experience was overwhelmingly positive. The fantastic service, beautiful surroundings, and excellent amenities (including a gym on the second floor) make this a five-star stay in my book. Highly recommend!

This last day was the best because San Francisco has really come back, and people are on the streets riding bicycles, electric scooters, electric skateboards are everywhere commuting to work and filling the stores and restaurants. The service here is impeccable and you really feel like you're at home. They provide you with a full kitchen, a living area and a dining area as well as either one or two bedrooms with big walk-in closets and spacious bathrooms. Our one bedroom suite even had two bathrooms, a hall bathroom across from the laundry and a large bathroom off the bedroom, so it's very convenient if you're entertaining people or meeting people are just in a hurry and everyone's dressing to go out. We are getting to know the neighborhood, which includes the SFMOMA and Union Square, which are both lively and full of people. The ice skating rink, huge Christmas tree, and Winter Market made Union Square hum with activity during our visit. We've stayed here several times and we really feel like this is our home away from home in San Francisco. Having this luxurious option even makes us eager to return because we feel like we have such a beautiful and comfortable place to to stay.

It's a true all-inclusive stay with meals, drinks, and snacks all covered, and the experience is just remarkable. Our first long stay was in 2021 when my wife had surgery. We chose to stay here for a week while she recovered. They had a wheelchair waiting for us when we arrived. There was a hand written welcome note. The room was spotless and calm. They anticipated our needs in ways we didn't expect, and it made a tough week a lot easier. The rooms deserve their own mention. Every room is a suite, with a living room and a separate bedroom. Lots of natural light, electric blinds, and plenty of space to actually relax. Bathrooms have both a shower and a tub. There truly aren't any bad rooms here. The service is what keeps us coming back. Many of the same team members have been here since we started coming in 2020, which says a lot. Sebastian, who's now the GM, Gayle, and Bernie have all been outstanding on every visit. I'm fortunate to be a 6 six figure earner(on the low end), but no way for me! Someone with this kind of money to blow per a night for hotel would likely rather be in Paris, Venice, Tahiti, London, Bermuda, Vegas or anywhere else but Menlo Park. I think this place survives solely on business travel for the all the Tech and Venture Capital companies in Silicon Valley, which is a very boring place as a tourist destination. Just as my Finance related conference yuppy colleagues were exiting, another mob of blue/black sport coat BioTech conference type yuppy men were entering the property. PROS: -Large, luxurious, modern, and clean rooms. -Modern immaculate furniture. -Glorious, gorgeous, marble tile, and welcoming bathroom with dual head shower and deep bath tub...deep enough that I took my first bath in 10+ years. -Amazing soft yet supportive king sized bed. -Nice pool area -Coffee, Tea, Minibar that I was too afraid to find out how much it all costs -Free water bottles(I would hope for $1000+/night) -They did not charge me $25/day for self parking. -Well staffed with very friendly folks. CONS: -Ridiculously expensive! -Everything else is expensive as well such food and drink, but again most folks are here on business accounts -No fridge, but I did toss some water bottles on top of the minibar's booze. -It's a campus style property with multiple buildings "cottages", so if you're in cottage 17 like I was its a bit of walk with stairs to get to the conference areas. If it was raining, this would've been gawd awful. In conclusion, I would happily come here again on someone else's invite and dime....but if I'm taking vacation it'll be in Hawaii. At least. Did you stay on your own money for mini vacation? Why? And it is your income? I really don't understand, lol!

This review is for the dining areas at Rosewood Sand Hill, including Madera Restaurant, Madera Bar,…read moreand Bici Coffee. The hotel is located right by SLAC, tucked into a hillside setting in Menlo Park. The property feels peaceful, elegant, and very well maintained. Madera Restaurant offers a full upscale dining menu and is a great choice for lunch, dinner, a business meal, date night, or a special occasion. Madera Bar is perfect for cocktails, wine, and light bites in a more relaxed but still refined atmosphere. Bici Coffee is a nice option for coffee, pastries, or a casual stop for bikers if you do not want a full sit-down meal. Rosewood Sand Hill is also a nice place for a tea party or an afternoon gathering with friends. One of the best parts is the view from the hill. I like how you can partially see the highway from the restaurant, but you cannot really hear it, so the setting feels very calm and secluded. Occasionally, you can see some movement in the distance, but if you were not looking in that direction, you probably would not even notice it. Because of that, the whole place feels very private and relaxing. Visiting Rosewood Sand Hill feels like you have been transported somewhere away from Silicon Valley, even though you are actually right in the middle of it, just a walking distance from SLAC, the particle accelerator, and Zoox's autonomous vehicles. That contrast makes the experience even more interesting: you are surrounded by the Silicon Valley's technology and innovation, but the atmosphere feels secluded, quiet, luxurious, and almost like a retreat.
