They do offer other programs like film, culinary school and fashion design. May students who attends LaSalle College are hoping to get their PR or immigrate to Canada. The school is very secretive. When you walk in you are first approached by a security. If you are not a student, you will need to sign in with the receptionist.

I would like to say that LaSalle College in Vancouver is a diamond in the rough. I was pleasantly…read moresurprised by their Fashion Design program. LaSalle's fashion program strongest part would have to be their pattern drafting, sewing and illustration. The sewing and pattern drafting instructor is highly educated on patter drafting having apprenticed with a German patter drafter who wrote 3 books on the subject of how to make tailored garments. I believe LaSalle is the only school in Vancouver who teaches its students how to make your own blocks from scratch. Other school starts you up with pre made blocks. I came from a sewing background and still my skills in sewing improved dramatically. Other students, who had never sewn before starting the course, did amazingly well for beginners. I was blown away by our illustration instructor. She will make you improve whatever skill you have in drawing 100 times if you work hard every day. It will pay off. The campus location is great. It is right by all the downtown sky trains and the space of the school is quite nice. It's not new but the working area is big. While I was going there, all the teachers were excellent and since it's still a small school you will get a lot of one on one with all of the instructors. The school always encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities. Even though it is up to the student we are constantly hearing about fashion shows and participating at Vancouver Fashion Week. I have recently graduated in 2011 and secured a post graduate work permit. Currently, I got an interview with Cirque Du Soliel, which has always been my dream. I think LaSalle's reputation helped me get this interview because it is a logo that is recognized internationally. I went to their office by Surrey City Hall and asked for help. None of the people there had any interested of helping me learn the UI. The only thing they cared about was getting rid of me as fast as possible and making me feel like I was an inconvenience to their day. Enjoy my $1,000 SFU, I might as well have flushed it down the toilet and even after I made my concerns known to the instructor (who was amazing by the way ) nobody from SFU contacted me to try to make things right l. Shame on you SFU next time I'll Invest in a school who actually cares about the success of their students. 0/10 colloidal fail

I'm not exactly sure how you rate a school...so I'm sticking with the silly Berkeley-grad,…read moreCalifornian tourist perspective. First of all, damn. This school's architecture is simple, modern, and gorgeous. I felt like I was in Noah's Ark with all the intricate stacks of "wood" placed on the top ceiling. The shape and angle of the floor were pretty sexy and it felt more like a upscale office building rather than a school. Everything felt NEW and inviting. Before my SFU friend left for class, he said there was a mall around the corner from the entrance. WAIT WHAT? A MALL? Yes, indeed, there is a freakin' mall in this school. I thought it was quite hilarious that the first store you see on the left is a liquor store. I killed some time walking around the mall and using the wifi in their food court. I never went into a classroom so I can't really go over that but one thing that really gave this place an extra star for me was their SFU TouchMap located at the entrance. WOW this is totally nuts. The TouchMap is an epic interactive touch-screen map for the school, with individual classroom descriptions and locations on each level. Mad props to the design and programming team who made this! SFU Surrey is a pretty neat campus for who people who love modern design and cool beans interactive maps.
