We also bought tickets for the warm pool. Took a bus from the city center, took about 30 minutes. It was very quiet, and although the location is small - not crowded. Plenty of pool toys for the kids. The warm pool and saunas on the second floor, but you don't really need it unless you are with a baby or like saunas. The building was built to be a social gathering point, where family and friends could go for recreation and for a bath. Most homes didn't have bathroom at that time in history. Schoolchildren from Frederiksberg have leant to swim here ever since. Frederiksberg Svømmehal should not only be a place for the body but also for the mind. Wilhelm Lundstrøm did some beautiful mosaics for the walls. You can also find a lot of sculptures. I like the classic and functional look of building. Clearly the have done most of the conversion and modernization in the same spirit as it was done originally. At Frederiksberg Svømmehal you naturally can go for a swim and play in the water. Weekends and holidays they have a special area open for smaller children. It is also well renowned for the spa and wellness facilities. Fitness World also have a gym in the building. Small swimming pool, slide, 25meter swimming pool and garden. Really ideal when the weather is beautifull. The indoor pool is a 50 meter one. And enough lanes to share. The pool is open for public (I think) until 5-6 pm because afterwards there are trainings. Very friendly and attentive staff and lifeguards. Nice changing rooms with lockers (connected to a wristband everyone gets when buying entrance ticket). In the summer months there is also an outdoor water slide. Great place with good prices and student discounts.

Hubby swims like a fish and he really enjoyed the circular swimming pool. The lap pool is an odd shape, so everyone has to swim in one direction. The water is cool and clean, but seeing the other yelp reviews, it gets disgusting and murky in the afternoon. (we came around 9am) The entrance free, after 9am, is 65 Dkk. Locker facilities are well equipped and spacious, plenty of private changing rooms for the ladies so if you're shy baring down in front of strangers, take advantage of the stall. There are also soap/shampoo provided but everything else, you would've to bring on your own. If you've had one too many Danish pastries (and you will), put on your swim suit and do laps around the pool. You'll burn calories and make room for more.

The water is very clean in the morning but in the afternoon, as in every place In central Copenhagen, there are too many people and the ring gets too crowded and the water gets muggy. The location of DGI is right next to the grand central station and in the radius of 100 m there are several hotels which means DGI is very popular among tourists.. I prefer not getting splashed too much in the water and if you're like me then you should pay DGI a visit in the morning.. It is one of the few swimming areas which open from 6 am and the entrance is almost half price between 06-09 am..

There's a nice promenade all along the sea, in Amager Strandpark. It's magic !
