Out of the Fresh Fitness centres I have visited in Copenhagen (this one, Vesterbro, Amager, Købmagergade and Nørrebro), I think this one is my favorite. It has the most space to move around in, it's clean and the staff is super friendly and helpful. It also has the cleanest machines I've seen in Fresh Fitness as of yet. Big plus! Fresh Fitness is a large chain of exercise centres, where you can get fit "or die trying" for 149-199 DKK per month. The last prise includes access to classes, ranging from Body Pump and Crossfit to Body Balance and "Stram op!". There's something for everyone here. They also have a wide selection of virtual classes, which are basically classes with bad music and a trainer on a video. Kinda like working out at home in front of your tv in the 80's, I imagine. The classes being held is mostly Les Mills, so they follow well thought out programs and the trainers seem well educated within these classes. Some correct you if you do something wrong, others will not. The classes at Østerbro seem to be less popular than in other Fresh Fitness centres, so there's space and equipment for everyone. This also means that more of the trainer's attention is on you, something which can be a good thing. And an exhausting thing. All in all, I think Fresh Fitness Østerbo is a very decent and affordable fitness centre!

This place was the best gym out of the ~12 I've been to (in the states) over the last few years. The equipment was all very high quality, with multiple stations of the typical stuff -- benches, deadlift platforms, squat racks, etc. There were also a wide variety of machines, many of which I've rarely, if at all, seen before. Again, all were great and modern quality. There's a long turf area, with everything you could imagine as far as cross-training gear near said turf. Essentially just a huge variety and amount of very modern equipment. In my experience, gyms either have quality OR variety. This place has both. The employee at the front desk (who I later learned was one of the owners) was very friendly, and especially welcoming when I mentioned that I was new in town. As he made me a banana + protein shake after my workout (which is also an amazing perk -- delicious with a bunch of options), he gave me helpful suggestions for things to do in town. It is THE PERFECT GYM! That means a lot to me, as someone who has visited many gyms around the world, always trying to find the perfect one. Vesterbronx is friendly to powerlifters, weightlifters, CrossFitters, Strongman, bodybuilders, and multi-sport athletes alike. It is located in a very trendy area in Copenhagen called Vesterbro. There are a lot of restaurants around. The closest metro station, Forum, is about a 20 minute walk away, but there are buses which pick up much closer to the gym. The gym is on the 2nd floor which you can climb up to using the staircase or use the elevator. When you enter, you will be greeted by someone who is manning the coffee / espresso / protein shake café. Do note that this gym is cash only. So if you want to purchase a t-shirt, walk-in for a day pass, or purchase a food or café item, you will need to have some Danish Krone on you. The gym itself is clean and filled with everything a serious athlete could possibly need. The gym is equipped with many speciality bars (an SSB squat bar, football bar, log press, Eleiko weightlifting bars, a trap bar, and fat bars) and at least 5 power racks, 2 combination racks, and several competition benches with spotting platforms. There are many power bars including Ohio Power Bars and Eleiko Power Bars. Here is some more equipment this awesome gym has: chains, bands of all tensions, TRX, row machines, GHR, cable machines, full dumbbell stack, rings, ropes, reverse hyper, hyperextension, sissy squat, kettlebells, a turf, prowler sleds, plenty of machines, and a POMMEL HORSE (I thought that was so cool)! So you can come here to get a coffee, lounge, eat, relax, and train. They even have an "Arnold Lounge" which is a bodybuilding room that feels like an Arnold Schwarzenegger man cave. What a great environment. And not only that, there were a lot of strong people in there. I love training in an environment where others are pushing themselves really hard. It makes you push yourself harder. Finally, the staff were nothing short of wonderful. I got to meet René who actually let my brother borrow his shorts (he wasn't planning to train). How awesome! If I lived in Copenhagen, this would absolutely be my home gym.

The staff is very warm and friendly and the price for the membership was fairly decent compared to the gyms I've been to in the U.S. I really don't have many complaints about this gym other than that it doesn't have some machines and I think it needs some updating. It also doesnt have a basketball court but there is a park literally right next door. There are two floors , the first floor has ellipticals, treadmills , rowing machines, pull up bars and crossfit stuff. The second floor has all the dumbells, machines, TRX bands, yoga classroom and bike room.

They say they got at great crossfit area, but since FitnessDK doesn't understand the concept of crossfit, they don't understand the needs of athletes within crossfit. They don't maintain their barbells and you're not allowed to dump the barbells (with weights on). Correction; you ARE allowed to dump the barbells if you're a personal trainer or working there!
