My mom is here for rehab. Like all facilities they are short staffed so be patient as you wait for assistance. PT and OT meets the basic requirements but fails to look outside of the box for solutions that take my mom's other deficits into consideration to tailor her plan so she can meet her goals asap. At times I feel she is way behind and should be further along. It is quiet and staff is friendly. Medication management is poorly implemented so you MUST review them daily with your nurse before you take them and with your physician with every visit. The food is good if you like a lot of carbs. You cannot have a vegetarian diet or any special needs diets. Food arrives cold everyday. I think they have not been allocated enough money in their budget to meet the needs of the residents. You cannot order your breakfast. You get scrambled eggs EVERY morning. My mom has never had yogurt, cottage cheese or protein drinks. She needs protein for muscle healing. Her nutritional needs have not been calculated so she doesn't receive all that she needs. Bananas are the only available fruit for her. This department is broken and needs some help from the CEO. Nutrition is vital to the healing process and someone doesn't value fthis. Covid affected her stay with limited visitation but they test the residents and staff regularly and keep on top of this. Another good thing! At the end of the day my mom says she would return to this facility for care if she had to. I know this facility is better than most. read more

food comes out cold, the kitchen feeds you whatever, they are always short staffed, the nurses never help answer lights if the aides are short staffed. They don't care about the long term resident. the place has really gone downhill in the last two years. read more

The facility is clean, staff is friendly. This is where the good news ends. For a rehab facility, there were days a relative received no therapy at all. Christmas day dinner was a Styrofoam container with a scoop of chicken salad and one scoop of macaroni salad. That's it. As a rule, the food has bordered on disgusting. read more

My mom passed away August 7th from the horrible neglect from Franklin Woods if you want your loved one on good hands run, run, run, from there and Franklin Square gets kick backs from recommending this place . In the short 6 months my mom was there she spiraled pneumonias, bed sores , wounds, septis which killed her . This place does not care about your loved one is about $$$ they pray on the weak and vulnerable my mom was due to be short term rehab and regain mobility well they made sure that didn't happen so she had to stay . By the time endless paperwork to get her out to an another facility waiting on a bed she was sent to Franklin Square where she ended up passing few days later . Genesis robs you of feeling that your loved one is taken care of the staff and facility should be shut down . read more

I am absolutely appalled by the neglect and lack of proper care my 81-year-old father is receiving during his stay at Franklin Woods Center. The level of care he experienced was far from acceptable, and I feel compelled to share our experience to warn others. *While I am not local, my immediate family is in Baltimore and have kept me updated regarding my father's care. ~Bedsore Worsening: Despite his condition requiring frequent repositioning, my father was left lying in one position for hours at a time. His bedsore worsened significantly, which could have been prevented with proper care and attention. ~Blood in Catheter: To make matters worse, there is blood in his catheter, an indication of neglectful handling and poor hygiene practices. This is not only unacceptable but also highly concerning for his health and well-being. ~Complete Lack of Responsiveness: The call button was never answered, which left my father in distress for extended periods of time. This is not just a matter of inconvenience but of basic human dignity and care. No one should be left in this condition, especially not an elderly person who is already vulnerable. My family trusted this facility to provide the care and attention my father needed, and instead, we experienced neglect that worsened his health and caused unnecessary suffering. I would strongly urge anyone considering this rehabilitation center to think twice and seek a place that truly values the well-being of its patients. *Update to add that our family had to request that 911 was called to take my father to the Emergency Room due to negligence and lack of basic human care. He is being admitted for a now infected bedsore, dehydration, and a multitude of other medical issues that were not addresses. read more

The facility is clean and they have a majority of friendly staff. However, the biggest problem lies in the efficiency of the nursing staff making sure that the reorder the patients' meds in a timely manner so that they are never without their doses. Also, the GNAs have a bad habit of talking on the telephone via earbuds while working which means that the person they're talking to is hearing patient information which goes against HIPPA (spelling?). Unfortunately one bad apple spoils the bushel... Even with these problems this has been the best facility that my family member has been rehabbed at. read more

This place is an absolute nightmare for patients. One nurse for at least patients and has a very poor lack of knowledge, skill, and training from their employees who supposedly work there. I witnessed this the entire time my mother was there, and I am sad to say she passed away while being treated at this terrible rehab center. When you drive into a medical facility that has a sign on the outside that says "Nurses Wanted", that is a red flag! Simply put, Genesis Franklin Woods Center is horribly understaffed. My advice to you, stay far away from this place period! Please don't not take you loved one to this place if you want them to live. And don't make the mistake that I did listening to that sorry social worker from Franklin Square who had this place on her list of Rehab centers that her hospital was connected with all along. This evil place needs to be shut down for a variety of health problems and care. Someone needs to contact the health department. read more

There Nursing care is Awful They leave you in a Diaper You ring for a nurse but sure won't get one for quite awhile They have Temporary Workers there that hit patients that are bedridden They let my friend leave there and she was back in the hospital within hours And was told she has Covid & Pneumonia All the times I visited her I never seen a nurse come in check her temperature or blood pressure This place looks good, but is a nightmare for patients Never send your loved ones here !!!!! read more

This place is terrible! Do not send anyone you love here. They will not get your diet right not matter how many times you tell them. They will not give you your medication at the times you are supposed to have it (for example, before you eat a meal) , they just give it when they feel like it. The place smells like urine in the hallways. I feel bad for the patients that can't speak for themselves. This place is an absolute disgrace!! read more

What ever you do, do not use Franklin Woods Nursing and Rehab. We have had a terrible experience with my mom and my dad. We had inaccurate therapy reports to our insurance company. When we asked for a copy of the reports, we got a run around and never received them. We tried to get my parents together and we we thwarted at every turn. My mother was left to sit in a soiled bed for hours before someone cared for her. The same day she was wet and she was left for 25 minutes before the Tech changed her. The nurse knew and did nothing about it. My mom had just arrived and was having difficulty standing so she was left with a diaper half on and half dressed for 3 hours until I arrived and complained. The social worker failed to provide service needed. She was to obtain a neutralizer for both my parents and neither has received one. She failed to obtain monitoring for my mom, who is on Warfrin. We thought we had to do it and took care of it. Later we have found out that it was the Social Worker's responsibility. Also, medications were changed to more expensive medications. It was not necessary as their primary care doctor changed the medication back to what he had proscribed. This is just a sample of all we have gone through. Don't use Franklin Woods. Social media rating them highly is inaccurate. #FranklinWoodsNursingandRehab #Elderneglect #Cantbetrusted #badexperience read more

STAY AWAY !!!! My wife was sent here for rehab. After her operation she needs rehab and could not do things for herself. she rang for the nurse to help her get to the bathroom or even get the bed pan. Well The person that came in and I quote ( just go in your diaper and i'll come back and clean you up later ) !! Really what type of person would do or say that. Shows real concern for the health and well being for the patients. Where is the respect for your patients?? Now my wife has never worn a diaper until they put one on her there . I guess this is what they do to everyone when you check in. When I was there she asked for the bed pan. The person did help her with that but did come back for 30 min and she just had hip surgrey and made her pain worse by laying on it for that long. She says the food is ok tasting but it never is warm it's always cold. The place looks nice from when you walk in but oh how it changes when you go to the floors with the rooms . The Hospital room she had was much nicer and cleaner then the room at Franklin woods. If they want to transfer you to this place say NO. read more
