The Franklin Haunted Walking Tour is an absolute MUST DO! When it started to sprinkle, the others who had booked ended up canceling. Instead of calling off the tour, Alicia gave me a private one. She was a phenomenal guide--her passion for Franklin, its rich history, and its community was obvious from the start. The tour was fun, dynamic, and incredibly insightful. Alicia shared each encounter with such historical accuracy and animated storytelling that I literally felt chills, all while feeding my love of learning about history and culture. Her reputation in the community is undeniable. Before, during, and after the tour, so many people spoke highly of both the quality of her tours and of her as a person. I originally found Franklin Walking Tours online, but once I arrived in town, every local I asked pointed me straight to Alicia--often described as "the tours with the lanterns." While we walked, it was clear how well-known and well-loved she is. Watching her interact with the community made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming, almost like being at home. Later, when I went to dinner, everyone who asked about my day lit up when I mentioned her tour and immediately started raving about it. Franklin Walking Tours are hands down a must when visiting. We had a great time touring historic Franklin with Jodi. Very informative and great experience! One thing I was disappointed in-- we had a 3 year old and 18 month old and they were charged $20 a piece. I think it makes sense to have a reduced rate or free under 5 as something to consider vs under 12 months as it currently stands. read more

On one of my last days in Central TN, I decided to fit in a walking tour of Franklin. Our tour guide was Beth, and she was a ball of energy. Entertaining and informative about the history of the charming town. When I return I want to take their Grim and Ghostly tour. Beth said it isn't her thing as she believes the ghosts follow you home. Usually, I try to take the Grim and Ghostly tour each late summer or late fall because it is always so much fun! This time was no expectation! Our guide Nola was amazing so many stories and experiences from previous tours. On this tour we had a special guest, a gentleman who lived in the apartment building near Landmark Books. He shared his story of when he was once walking his dog around 3am he encountered the spirt of a revolutionary solider pacing inside the building, then came through a glass door without opening it! When their eyes met the soldier vanished right in front of him. The guides share the spooky stories and history of each stop so amazing I'm always learning something new! Each Saturday night in October there is a late-night tour of a building in Franklin. Two years ago, it was the Masonic Lodge which is 200 years old! Last year it was the Twine Building on the square and this year it's going to be Cherry Manor! Also, on the last Saturday night there is Tombstone Tales this is one night only, but Franklin Walking Tours has the most amazing group of reenactors telling the stories of Frankin's past The Grim and Ghostly tour runs year-round. If you're in the area this is something you should put on your to do list, you won't be disappointed! read more

We had an amazing time with Alicia. We enjoyed great authentic stories with great historical details. Did this tour last week of June this year. It was one of the better ghost walk tours I have been on.

Had friends in town and at the last minute (5p on a sat evening) they said "let's do a ghost tour!" I've seen FWT groups around town in the past and figured we'd give it try. Alicia was amazing accommodating a last minute group of 8 and gives an incredible tour! It's obvious she's an avid history buff and talented storyteller! The Grim and Ghostly tour has a balance of history, facts and true tales. I'm excited to bring more friends on this and the other FWT tours. Oh, and excited to get my phone connected to a big screen this week to examine all the pics we took. I'll share if we got anything interesting. :) read more

We took this tour of downtown Franklin, 6/2/24. Our tour guide, Beth, was EXCELLENT!! She has a deep knowledge of the town of Franklin and why/how it was established. Her knowledge of The Battle of Franklin during the Civil War was impressive also. We took this tour with our grandsons, 18 yr old twin boys and a 15 yr old boy. Beth found topics to connect with each of them, which encouraged them to be attentive during the tour. I met Alicia and the Franklin Walking Tours "by chance" on a First Friday outside of Landmark Booksellers. I heard the words "Ghost Tour" and I just had to join. I've now taken a couple of tours with Alicia -and find myself just hanging on every word of real life history about my home town she shares. Wow what a tour!! Alicia was our tour guide and she is also the owner. She walked us through Downtown Franklin, starting at Landmark Booksellers, and told us so many amazing stories.
