We had some trouble with 2 identical ceiling fans and I called Franklin Lighting (where we purchase all of our lighting and fans) and they promptly sent out a technician to come and try and fix. 3 days later I have 2 working ceiling fans! Jesse was the technician, he was prompt and explained to me what had caused them to have issues. While he was here he checked our other fans to make sure all was working well too. It's a little overwhelming with everything lit up in the store, but what do you expect from a store selling light? I enjoyed my experience here. I was greeted warmly when I entered the store, and then was left alone until I was ready to make a purchase. I am not a person who wants someone to coddle me in a store. I like to be left alone to peruse and deliberate on my own, and then have a quick and easy check out. So this was the perfect experience for me. There are TONS of lighting products. I needed a desk lamp and a floor lamp. My tastes run Euro Modern - there weren't too many options of that style, but what are available are quality pieces. Franklin Lighting - Love our new fan - Home Decor Near Me - Sarasota, Florida

We've been a customer of Franklin Lighting for approximately 4 years and we're very disappointed in their total lack of customer service when it comes to warranty issues. We purchased two LED exterior sconce lights for our SW Florida home. The first light failed (defective LED component) eleven months after the purchase date and five year warranty, which they replaced the entire fixture. The second light failed at the end of December 2023 and notified Franklin Lighting of the second warranty claim (defective LED component). After waiting 4 plus weeks for the warranty claim resolution they notified us that our parts came in. I questioned them about the "parts" portion of their email and that's when they told us they supply the parts only and the customers are responsible for the repair. We are done with Franklin Lighting! read more

The electrician they sent to the house did a wonderful job putting up a chandelier exactly as I had asked and also changing out a light switch. I was a little surprised at the messy way in which the floor and furniture in the area were "protected"... but overall, I would recommend them and plan to use them again. I'll know what to require then. read more

I really like Franklin lighting. I don't know why the mixed reviews. It is a specialty lighting business so yes, it is going to be a little pricey and yes, they are a little snooty but that is OK. We wanted outside sconces that were unique and we were presented with dozens of them ranging from moderate to high-end. The saleswoman was nice and answered any questions we had. I have nothing but nice things to say about the place. Visit them if you want quality, unique lighting. Don't visit if you want to save money by purchasing cheap fixtures. read more

Have always gone to Franklin Lighting. Was just in there after being away from decorating. Went to look at the following , New Lamp Shades, repair and a new Chandler for the entry. Was meant by a Sales person who was not only "LOUD" but rather abrupt and truly rude. Yes she gave us a few names and Places to go to find the rest of our items. But actually Dismissed us like we were NON essential to her business. We both looked at each other like For real? This is your TYPICAL JUDGING THE BOOK BY THE COVER. So we found another lighting center and not a big box. And purchased a 4500.00 chandler for the entry. That Sales person was very happy to assist and her Jaw Dropped after showing us 600.-1200. Lights and we ended up at where we were. She will have a great pay day. And as far as Franklin goes. You will never See us darken THIER door step. Thanks for pushing us out the door! read more

We just purchased an expensive chandelier from this company on a Friday and when dealing with the salesperson explained to her that we were driving a sports car. She made no comment and we tried to fit the box in our car to no avail. We then made the trip all the way back to Bradenton to pick up another vehicle and could not fit the box in that vehicle either. The salesperson said why don't we deliver it? Why she didn't offer that option from the beginning boggles my mind. We wasted two fairly long trips and a bunch of time. The chandelier was delivered on Monday and upon opening the box we discovered that all of the lights were removed! Knowing that the unit was scheduled to be installed early the next morning, we scrambled to go out at 8 at night to find bulbs and was fortunate enough to find a bulb that would fit and at least allow the installer to test the chandelier lights. Considering the many options to purchase a product of this type online, you would think that a bricks and mortar retailer would be bending over backwards to pay attention to details like this and provide exemplary customer service. Franklin Lighting fell well short of the mark. read more

Sales rep Barbara worked with me to get a correct light kit part number for a fan in a new home that was installed with the wrong one. Then she found out that the stockroom had the part now - no waiting. She also got a credit for the incorrect unit. The the gentleman in the parts/delivery room assembled the new light kit for me. Franklin Lighting has been the "go-to" lighting source for my family since my very first home purchase 15 years ago. They have a HUGE inventory of lighting products, that really can't be beat. The big box stores have no where near 1/10 of the inventory that they have on display. They will work with people with any budget too. I really appreciate the ability to have unique lighting fixtures that aren't just carbon copies of what everyone else has on the street. Fantastic sales too if your a bargain hunter they make sure the inventory stays fresh. I recommend all my home buyers make sure to stop in and see them before they make any decision on lighting fixtures. read more

Pack a lunch when you go. The store is massive and has more superb lighting than any other lighting place in Sarasota. You can get bargains or very high-end lighting fixtures. Snooty, unhelpful sales ladies highlight the poor customer service exhibited by this establishment. Went in looking for help on a home renovation project & yes we came to buy. Not one but at least three sales ladies were not only unhelpful, but unfriendly and even condescending too. (Makes one wonder - how they are compensated.) There's a lot of inventory, but if you are not of the geriatric persuasion - not a lot to really pick from. The prices are as stated - HIGH. In fact we went to Home Depot where we saw comparable lights, fans and accents for 40-50% less. We will not be returning to Franklin lighting - even for their sale. read more

Purchased a lighting fixture Jan 2016.....had an issue....it was addressed immediately to my satisfaction by both the sales associate (Diane) who was terrific and the store owner. Customer service still exists at this business ! Their prices are fair and more importantly they guarantee their products for a year.....!! Think about having to return a hanging light fixture you bought on the internet to save a few bucks, compared to having Franklin pick it up for you and fix you legitimate problem !! read more

I always find great new ideas in lighting here. Beautiful selections, great service and customer support. I've been to lots of good lighting stores but this is the one that stands out from the rest. We have purchased several lights from Franklin lighting in the past and enjoyed their selection and quality. We returned yesterday to purchase a light for over our dining room table. The reason for 3 stars instead of 5 is due to the sales representative (receipt said her name was Mary). I wanted to reduce the size of the light because our dining room is small. She acted appalled that I was looking at light fixtures too small for the table, and repeatedly told me that I was wrong to look at smaller fixtures. I finally had to stand up to her and tell her "that is your opinion". I settled on a fixture that she literally turned her eyes up at. Perhaps it was just a bad day for Mary. If you are not a strong personality she could definitely over sell you. The lady in the back that packaged and loaded our fixture was STELLAR! Final note: The fixture is up and perhaps actually slightly bigger than I had in mind for the space, but I can live with it. read more

Have to agree with previous reviews. The store is quite lovely and inviting with so much to offer ...until you approach the women that sit behind the horseshoe "desk" just inside the entrance. I have been remodeling an entire home And came to the store in my "work" attire which often means head band, no makeup, stained paints and paint splotched hands. (Lowes attire for most and generally unnoticed lol). I have to say, I felt like some of the glares made me feel like I was a homeless woman entering a 5 star restaurant. Very sad as I was a "paying" customer. I probably would have bolted for the door were it Not for a wonderful, down to earth saleswoman named Theresa. *owners of this establishment should Take this under advisement.... Train your sales personnel to put on a "non judgement" face.. Embrace each customer as if they had a million dollar bank account - whether it be so or not, You may get better reviews and more sales!
