I would not recommend working at this location based on my personal experience…read more I was fired without being spoken to first or given an opportunity to explain my side of the situation. From my perspective, there was no fair investigation before the decision was made, which left me feeling disrespected and treated unfairly. While working here, I also felt that employees were underpaid considering how busy the store is and how expensive the menu items are. Customers pay premium prices for açaí bowls, smoothies, and other menu items, yet many employees are paid only $12 an hour. It created an environment where many staff members felt undervalued. I also witnessed management practices that raised serious concerns for me. Based on what I observed and what was communicated to me by coworkers, I questioned whether timekeeping and payroll practices were being handled appropriately. I hope the company reviews these practices to ensure they comply with all applicable laws and policies. Overall, my experience was disappointing. I expected better communication, fair treatment, and more respect for employees. I encourage anyone considering working here to ask detailed questions about management, pay, and workplace policies before accepting a position.

My kids and I arrived on opening day in the afternoon and it was packed. Although I didn't get to try the açaí bowls or juices, my kids did opt for the Berry Banana Burst smoothie. They both thought it was very good and what I liked about it was that it wasn't overly sweet like other smoothies. Less sugar makes my kids less hyper and I'm 100% happy about that. I'm not a big banana fan and both smoothies didn't have an overpowering banana flavor. Ordering was a breeze and as usual, my son dropped his on the floor and it made a mess. Thankfully it wasn't too bad and I helped an employee clean it up. The fact that this is walking distance is dangerous and I know I'm going to have to show some self-restraint.

When our server Erica took our drink order and left QR codes for the menu, I quietly looked at my daughter in law and said with a grin, "I hate these. I like to hold a real menu." Although I said it quietly, our server must have caught my look because without a beat, she returned a second later with menus and said winking, "I like a real menu, too." It was subtle and intentional and set the tone for a perfect meal. I told her, "we are reading Will Guidara's Unreasonable Hospitality, and you just modeled it." She told us it's one of hers and her husband's favorite books! Our street corn nachos were delicious as well as great salsa and chips, and each of us was super happy with our taco choices. Highly recommend the brisket, featuring a horseradish cream, and the shrimp as well as the fish tacos. One small note: the flavors in my Brussels sprout taco were fantastic, but the veggies themselves were a bit tough. My tamarind margarita was SPOT ON with a perfectly generous tajin rim and dried lime slice. Food was well-timed even with a packed house. Even when the beans added on by one of our party were way too spicy for her palate, our server offered an alternative without missing a beat. In summary, a hoppin' local spot with great service and delicious food, along with a community feel. 100% recommend!
