After being seated in the bar area, we were informed by our server that only appetizers were available. This was both confusing and disappointing, as it does not align with reasonable expectations for a restaurant still open for regular business. If the kitchen is no longer able or willing to prepare full menu items well before closing, that policy should be clearly communicated--either through adjusted hours or by informing guests upon arrival. Otherwise, it creates the impression of inconsistent operations or a lack of coordination between management and staff. Situations like this suggest a need for clearer operational standards, better communication, and stronger staff alignment with customer service expectations. Guests should not feel discouraged from dining simply because they arrive within what should be standard service hours. Overall, the experience reflects an opportunity for improvement in both management practices and customer hospitality.

This place has grown on me. Pros: Food is delicious. I…read morehaven't had a bad dish in the times I've visited. I stick with the salmon, and they know how to cook it to my liking. Cons: Pricing. If I'm gonna pay for an upscale experience, give me real plates, real cups and real silverware to go with it, not the plastic stuff. Also, gratuity is added automatically to every ticket, regardless of party size. I'm a tipper, but I don't like being forced to do it upfront regardless of how service may be. To me, that sometimes equals poor service because the server knows that she's gonna get a tip regardless of performance. Overall, this is a place I visit every now and again. The night vibe isn't for me, but I enjoy the daytime visits. I like to support minority businesses, so I will be back on occasion.

The macaroni looked very light in color, but don't let that fool you, it was flavorful, creamy, and very well prepared. Everything on the plate was seasoned nicely and satisfying. That said, there were a few things about the atmosphere that took away from the experience for me. The restaurant was extremely dark inside, and the music was much louder than necessary, making it difficult to fully relax and enjoy the meal. I was also caught off guard by customers smoking marijuana indoors. I'm pretty sure I left with a contact high while writing this review. I do think it would be helpful for the establishment to make guests aware of that at the entrance so people can decide beforehand whether that environment is for them.

Pull out the trusty Yelp app and find this place just off the highway sitting there with a five-star beacon attached! Pretty impressive with the 4.8 average. Pull up and we were not sure we should go in. No cars out front and totally dead inside. As we were debating three cars arrived. Glad we didn't leave. We walk into the sweetest lady greeting us at the door. It's obviously a family-run business as I am pretty sure that her sons were the servers and the cooks. They are all so nice. C had the catfish sandwich with fried green tomatoes as a side. I had the combo of catfish and pork spare ribs with cream corn and baked beans. We loved every bite! Catfish was great! Ribs were good and the fried green tomatoes, beans, and corn were some fantastic sides! Very nice conversation while checking out with them behind the counter. Super nice people with big hearts. You can tell love is in every bite. Loved the food! Loved the service! Needs a good cleaning though. That's my only gripe and the only reason it's not 5 stars for me. It's exceptionally dirty, almost impressive in the way it's gotten smoke buildup inside. There was a high chair there that would give me anxiety to place a child into. I will now leave well enough alone, I said my piece on that. Good news! It will not stop me from eating here as soon as possible again. We will just call it, "building is seasoned well" '26 - 120
