We went there to get our brakes fixed. We told the owner that we were going to turn the vehicle into a plow for snow removal, but we still needed brakes. They called said the brakes were fixed. Bill was about $1000.00. OK we figured we were good to go. Drove the vehicle and found the brakes were not fixed. We called and he said what he fixed was the ABS light that had come on the dashboard. We asked if he had checked the brakes and he said he thought so. We brought the vehicle back in and the brakes had not been checked. We asked why we had to pay the $1000.00 to fix a dashboard light. He said it was required due to Canadian safety regulations. We told him had he called us, we would have just come in and picked up the vehicle and not had them do the repair. He did then fix the brakes and gave us approximately a $40.00 discount. So the total we spent for a completely useless repair (and the owner agreed that the only purpose of the $1000.00 repair was to stop a light coming on in the dash) was $960.00.
