The Commander Tony found out I am a veteran and offered to help to get connected with the local V(eteran) S(ervice) O(fficer), who over time has assisted me to acquire much needed disability. The building inside is rather large with two main rooms, 1 being the bar which of course serves alcohol and has various entertianment arcade types of games. Free popcorn with a donation. 2nd room being the meeting hall. Where the D(isabled) A(merican) V(eterns) have meetings. Sandwiched between the two main rooms are a Men's room and Ladies room. Plus the grounds are shaded with older growth oak trees which are scenic and walkable. Along with a Frisbee golf course. Just bring your own Frisbee. On the days when the VSO comes, a local pizza company(Pizza on the Point) comes and makes fresh pizza in the kitchen of the meeting room, the personal size pizza's are $8.00, with unlimited toppings. All around this is a great place!

Living in a neighborhood that doesn't have recycling yet? Yeah, Chicago claims to be all green,…read morebut the fact that there's not neighborhood recycling alongside garbage pickup is pretty discouraging in the green catagory. Luckily, the city has 30 drop off points to bring all your recycling to. Due to Pilsen's lack of recycling, after doing some research, this appeared to be the closest drop off point to my old place. Unfortunately it would be way too much of a hassle to get there in any way besides in a car. Basically, you just have to be on the lookout for a big blue bin outside a huge building. You can drive right up, park your car and load your things in. To find the recycling drop-off spot closest to you, check the website above, click on "Chicago Recycling Initiative" in the upper left hand corner, then on "Recycling Drop-off Centers, then "List of Locations and Map". Yay, Earth!

(my sister stole and misused my mothers handicapped placard in the past because she was too lazy to get her own. ps karma got to her and she met the grim reaper a few years ago) the 3rd one was someone misusing a permanent placard that definitely didn't belong to her. she is definitely not a male and definitely not born in 1942. she had a temporary placard in the car alledgedly for herself that instead of displaying she kept telling me to mind my own business. it is my business when someone is abusing handicapped spaces or tags and all she had to do was put her temporary placard. if it was hers, up and it would have been a non issue. i have had people thank me when they have forgotten, but the guilty ones are the ones who get all defensive and know they have been caught.
