I love coming to Frank liu I was referred to him back when he was close to the Delmar race track love the amount of experience and dedication to curing all the things that I have going on with me.He and his wife run an amazing business and you are treated like family when you come in and always know that you will feel good moving forward.I will continue to use them even though I am from vista , you know it is worth the drive.I have avoided many surgeries because I came to someone that knows what they are doing.I will always refer and give accolades to people that deserve it read more

Sadly... this established practitioner was sloppy at my viist (didn't check tongue or pulse), didn't listen to my needs/goals, and caused me a lot of pain stabbing a nerve with a needle... which set me back in my recovery. He was very apologetic and the front desk was friendly + willing to work with my insurance. Unfortunately I won't be coming back. read more

Dr. Liu is an excellent experienced doctor. He made my Mom chronic knee-pain really relieve. I'm so grateful to take my Mom there. I wish I would know him earlier. I am telling everyone how great he is. read more

I had several ankle sprain injuries. I went to my primary doctor, and she suggested an X-ray and natural healing. I needed more help, so I went to see Dr. Liu. After four sessions, I felt less pain in my ankle. He diagnosed my problem using only his physical examination and needles. He is very skillful and understands patients well, with a lot of experience. If you have chronic pain, I highly recommend him. read more

I have been going to Dr. Liu for the past ten years and have sought his help with a wide range of issues: chronic back pain, severe ankle sprains, loss of my period, anxiety, digestive issues, the list goes on. He is incredibly knowledgeable, intuitive, and skilled, and has helped me tremendously with every issue I have encountered. I am an athlete so I have had extensive experience with psychical therapy, chiropractic, and other alternative healing methods. Nothing has been as effective as Dr. Liu. I truly cannot recommend enough. read more

I cannot recommend Dr Liu highly enough. My family and I have been going to him for the last 20 years and he has ALWAYS helped resolve whatever discomfort or injury we have been dealing with. I have seen him for neck and back pain, hypothyroid issues, and more recently for a broken patella. As soon as my surgery staples were removed, I made an appt with Dr Liu to get his thoughts and develop a treatment plan and have seen him weekly for the last 4 months. He has helped me tremendously and my surgeon and Physical Therapist have remarked at how well and quickly I am healing from this difficult injury. Dr Liu has helped my daughters recover from all the aches and injuries they have had over the years of growing up. As a psychologist, I have referred clients to him who have been struggling with mental health challenges such as anxiety and insomnia, and they have been very pleased by their experiences also. My oldest daughter is a professional dancer and has seen other acupuncturists in NYC (where she studied and lived after college) and said nobody is as skilled and effective as Dr. Liu. In addition to being a brilliant doctor, Dr Liu is an incredibly kind man. His wife, Kathy, who is the office manager, is just as lovely. I feel blessed that Dr Liu takes my insurance but wouldn't hesitate to see him regardless. He is a a true healer. read more

Made my Sciatica worse...Aside from the fact that after the procedure I was told to just stand up and walk normally...Which was impossible with the pain...His response was, "You have to come back.." I ended up back in the ER where the Dr. there told me not to go back and that people should avoid like the plague...Beware! read more

In one session I saw big improvements and I felt much more calm! Amazing. Give it a shot, needles hurt a little for like 5 seconds but worth it. He said he doesn't do very light needles insertion because then he can't hit the point and trigger the right relief read more

I've only had 2 sessions with dr frank lui and I feel so much better. Woke up one morning and could move my right hand. I had no control of movement in my fingers. So much so I thought I had a stroke in the night time. Drove myself to the ER using only my left hand ... could barely make a turn as that requires 2 hands. After CAT scans. Erg, and all other test under sun, 8 hrs later they sent me home with a prescription for muscle spasm Within 2 sessions I have about 80% mobility back. Thank you dr lui. read more

Frank Liu Acupuncture - Acupuncture Near Me - Solana Beach, California

Dr. Liu has treated me last spring for neck pain. He knew exactly why I had pain. And 6 sessions have helped so much! Needles and very careful adjustments were perfect. I ended up seeing neurologist around the same time and they couldn't offer any solutions. Physical therapy is fine for the long term outlook but when you need relief right away, it's not a solution. Once the pain is gone, physical therapy is a must but I am so grateful that acupuncture took the pain away. I think I had so much tension in my neck, I literally cried after the first session. I do go back for maintenance and adjustment once in a while if I lift heavy things but other than that it's been really good. They accept insurance, so if your insurance covers acupuncture, it is a really good deal! read more

Dr. Liu works magic! I am recovering from some pretty serious knee surgery and he has helped me immensely. He's also very nice and seems to care about me very much. I cannot recommend him more. read more

I can't recommend Dr Liu enough! I've been suffering from chronic back and neck pain due to scoliosis, arthritis and degenerative disk disease for over a decade. I found Dr Liu through my insurance, thank goodness he accepts it, and have been going twice a week for almost 2 months. I have lots of issues with my back and have seen a chiropractor for years, but wish I had tried acupuncture and found Dr. Liu sooner. He honestly cares about his patients and is a very skilled practitioner. read more

Dr Liu is such an excellent acupuncturist and herbal medicine Dr. that his office and treatment deserve to be recognized. Dr Liu is highly knowledgable and experienced, takes time when assessing your health and treatment plans. I have had 4 acupuncturist in my life 2 were excellent 5 star highly trained/skilled and extensive practice the the other 2 were also very very good but there is a noticeable difference between very good and excellent when it comes to acupuncture and it can multiply results x10 with someone who is highly in tune and skilled. The office manager is also wonderful by the way! Thank you Dr Lui read more

I don't like to throw around the word miracle all willy-nilly but it's the perfect word to describe my experiences here. Dr. Liu has actually been around for a while before in Carlsbad and he recently moved to start his own practice in Del Mar. I've always had back pain all my life (minor scoliosis) and I usually can keep it in check with yoga and regular stretching. But if I don't keep it up, my back will start hurting. That's when Dr. Liu comes in. He will start by checking the alignment of my back, and he knows right away where it hurts, I usually don't even have to tell him (which I think is a true mark of his skill), he will then usually chinese massage it (tui na). I'm not going to lie, it hurts like hell sometimes but like they say no pain no gain. The massage usually lasts for about a hour, and I'm super sore afterwards. But after a day, my back feels great and I can feel no tension or pain in my back. He usually ends it by cracking my back at the end and realigning my spine. I don't really have to go see him that often, but after a car accident I saw him a couple times. I've also recently just tried acupuncture, most of the times it doesn't hurt, but if my muscles happen to be super sore in that area, it will pinch a little. The upside is that it works immediately. Not only are his skills superb, Dr. Liu is professional, honest, and comfortable to be around. Now that I think of it, he is the only person I trust sticking needles into me! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Liu's for over 4 years. In that time he has helped me with neck, lower back, knee, and shoulder injuries and pain. He has also treated me for anxiety. My neck injury can sometimes cause me to have to wear a neck collar for support. After just 1 or 2 sessions with Dr. Liu I can take the neck brace off again and even go surfing and playing tennis. I recommend anyone interested in acupuncture to visit Dr. Liu and I promise you will have huge benefits! read more

THANK YOU Dr. LIU! This is a very overdue review. I've been into this office a few times and most recently last week I woke up to a sharp pain in my rib area and thought that it would just disappear on its own. However, the day after the pain was even worse and I ended up going to 3-D Urgent Care over in Carlsbad. After being stuck there for 4 hours and no diagnosis asides from just taking 800mg of ibruprofen, I decided to get a second opinion as something wasn't sitting right and the pain was getting really bad. I called Dr. Lius office right after Urgent Care and they were able to fit me in for a 1:30. When I first got there Dr. Liu asked what happened, then he took a look at the area and was able to feel out an enlarged spleen and also my left rib was raised higher than the right. The muscles in my body were also extremely tense, and figured out that I had a pinched nerve. He provided acupuncture and then an alignment ( SO painful for me because we were basically pushing the ribs back) and told me that everything will be better in about 2-3 days and if not, I should call him and take another look. It's been 3 days and I'm feeling much much better. Thank you Dr. Liu for always being so thorough and patient! read more

Mr. Liu has worked with me on my fibroid tumors for months now. This has been quite a big issue for my health and he has been with me every step of the way. These acupuncture treatments have required a commitment on my part -- and I couldn't be in better hands. I trust Mr. Liu's knowledge of the body and his in-depth skills 100%. He takes what he does very seriously and his demeanor reflects it. After working with him for quite a while now, I'm so thankful that I was referred to him by my OB/GYN. My journey is going to be a tough one, but I couldn't have a better healer by my side. I can tell how much he cares about the work he does and I appreciate it tremendously. This is much more than just a business to them. I highly recommend Mr. Liu. read more

I can't give Dr. Liu enough high praises!!! I am hairstylist, I have constant neck and back issues. No matter what the problem he always makes me feel better. Dr. Frank is amazing. I had chronic pain in my shoulder for months and it kept getting worse. I tried PT and all kinds of stuff nothing worked. Dr Liu is THE BEST acupuncture doctor. He comes from a Chinese family of accupuncturists and just to get even more education he obtained his PhD in acupuncture for the US but in reality, he should have been the professor. His knowledge and healing powers are tremendous. I am an MD and simply cannot recommend anyone higher. I have recommended him over and over and every patient sends me the same thank you and tells me that they had a wonderful healing visit. read more

Do not go to Frank. I have never been treated so poorly by a medical professional. He spent ten minutes of my treatment time lecturing me about his billing. He got so confrontational with me and I felt so uncomfortable that I had to get up and leave without even getting treated. I left feeling stressed and upset. I repeat, if you want actual healing do not go to Frank. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Liu for several years. After being told by 3 different Chiropractic offices that my back needed thousands of dollars of repairs to be "normal" again, I went to see Dr. Liu and haven't looked back. I have two herniated discs in my lower back and suffer from chronic muscle spasms. When I go to Dr. Liu, I leave feeling like I am 18 years old again. He has given me hope and the ability to function comfortably without pain. He is truly a miracle worker. Dr. Liu and his wife are very friendly and make you feel very reassured the minute you walk into their office. I highly recommend Dr. Liu! read more

This is my second appointment and so far so good. Very nice and knowledgeable people. I am here for treatment of an injury and after 14 days am still swollen, bruised and in pain. I have nothing but deep gratitude and appreciation for Dr. Liu and his expertise. My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Liu for years. He has helped us with many and various health issues- from muscle aches and pains to sinus infections and migraines. I first went to see Dr. Liu beacause my husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for over a year and a half. I had tried everything and had been losing hope that we could conceive naturally. By the third month of accupuncture and herbs Dr. Liu prescribed, we conceived our son. Dr. Liu and his wife kathy, who runs the front desk, are like family to us. I have always felt that Dr. Liu listens to and cares about my concerns and he is so knowledgeable about the body. Whenever anything comes up, he is our first call. read more

I've had horrible neck pain for over a year. After x-rays I was told I have degenerated discs in my neck with arthritis. I started traditional physical therapy through my personal physician with limited results. My wife talked me into seeing Dr. Liu after recommendations from her friends at work. Within a day or two after treatment from Dr Liu my neck was so much better. My headaches are all but gone. The next week I had another treatment and my relief is even better. I don't expect to ever be completely pain free because of the advanced degeneration but the relief I have experienced is a Godsend. I am hoping further treatments will give further results. read more

Dr. Liu is one of a kind. When my endocrinologist wanted me to undergo radiation treatment to remove my thyroid, Dr. Liu used acupuncture to successfully bring my hormone levels back to normal. Western doctors are very quick to prescribe drastic measures without much consideration to side effects. Dr. Liu used acupuncture to focus on my entire well-being. I am so thankful to Dr. Liu for his exceptional care and that I did not give in to the pressure from my endocrinologist to undergo radiation and end up as a life-long patient. Nothing gets past Dr Liu - he knows immediately where anything hurts or if anything is wrong without me even telling him, usually just from taking my pulse and checking the coloration of my tongue. Not only is he one of the best when it comes to acupuncture, he is also very caring and honest. Dr. Liu usually starts with a chinese massage (tui na), something that I look forward to especially since I tend to store a lot of stress in my shoulders and lower back. Then, he'll check the alignment of my neck and back before he starts sticking needles. I have to admit that initially, I was scared of the needles and skeptical about whether acupuncture really works, but after having gone through treatment with Dr. Liu, I am a big believer now. Not only does it work, I'm so comfortable and relaxed now, that I even fall asleep with all the needles. Even though I have since moved away from San Diego, I always go back for a check-up with Dr. Liu whenever I'm back in town. read more

I honestly knew nothing about Acupuncture before it was recommended to me. I had a very serious accident and broke my back. I had a L1 burst fracture and every neurosurgeon that came to my hospital bed wanted to perform a very involved multi-level fusion. I refused surgery after finding one surgeon that would go along with me. I was on complete bed rest with a large uncomfortable brace for 3 months. I was in a lot of pain and was having bad reactions to all the pain meds. My friend suggested Acupuncture and really at that point I had nothing to loose and nothing to do! It was a blessing that I found Frank Liu. Not only did I have relief after my first session he also started me on bone growth herbs. I was unable to leave my bed so Frank came to my house twice a week for 3 months. My surgeons were unable to give me much advise as 98% of people with my break have surgery. I credit Frank with my miraculous recovery. I followed his advise to the letter even if I did sometimes put up a fight. His Acupuncture, herbs, advise and friendship healed me. I am a true believer in his gift and I now see him every few months for a tune up. He truly is the best and he genuinely cares about his patients. read more
