We have known Mr. Frank for many years and are very thankful for him. He does have his ups and down's, but in the end it turned out fine.

Six months later and my case has gone nowhere. Mr. Mayo possesses rudimentary computer skills and even worse proofreading skills. Zero follow through. Every time I call, it's a repeat of "WHO?" He will forget to sign the compliant , he will forget court dates, when you call to ask status of your case he will yell and scream at you and rudely hang up ! No integrity or morals at all! I have a open BAR compliant with state of California due to his negligence on my case . We will not return messages or after 7 emails in a row he will respond to one email with poor grammar and missing letters in his sentences. We fired Mayo because he would schedule depositions without asking us to our availability. He also would scream at us whenever we asked him to look at research or information that was relevant to our case. He had his browser block all downloads and had me log into his computer to get attachments on my email downloaded so he could see it. Then when I logged out he kept saying that my email was stuck in his cache and he could not clear his cache . He accused me of messing with his computer and looking inside of it. Then he said I needed to fix his computer but I should never touch it! Anyways we fired him because he could barely figure out how to work email and attachments. He would not communicate this to us either, so we found out after many wasted months. He would not return our money when we asked him to return our unearned fees. read more

I was referred to Mr. Mayo's office by the lawyer referral service of Santa Cruz county. I told him I was working with a landlord-tenant issue and he requested details. I told him I didn't want to get into the details of the case until I had a sense of what his experience was with landlord tenant law. He very aggressively responded that he wouldn't help me if I wouldn't give him details. When I apologized and said that I just wanted to get a sense of his experience with this area of law before going ahead with the discussion (I want to know the lawyer I'm talking to actually understands the dynamics of the situation) he said "I have no experience with that area of law" and hung up on me. Not sure why this person is being referred to tenants - he was pretty rude to me and doesn't actually have the necessary expertise to work in that area. read more

One phone call to get the job in April, and never called again... very few e-mails with no information on case, just more task to do, now its July and don't know any more than I did in April.. When I called I was always cut short, Rude, and never informed me of what was going on with case, all I ever asked for was to keep me informed which he always said he would and never did. Once he found out they (My Sister and Brother) had an Attorney he said he might have to raise the % on the Contract from 10% to 15% which I would not of had a problem with had he done the job. This Guy is a Real loser as you can see from California Bar Association discipline section... I worked with Frank past 9 months, i am very happy about his service. He is very knowledgeable in subject including remembering about sections keeping on finger tips.and he is very bold and sharp in communicating in the court with opponent lawyer and Judge. In fact, we were not in good shape before reaching to Frank, after started working with him, we felt very comfortable about our case, which was going on for 2 plus years, finally got settled. Also one thing i liked about him and his office was, when we made a retainer agreement, he fixed the Max CAP in the retainer agreement including trial, which gave us to estimate our Lawyer Max fee liability, i believe this is what most of the ppl like me who goes to lawyer to know about and since then he was sending us monthly statement with his hours spending and fees, that way we were able to track the money spending and progress about the case. I don't understand why all the negative reviews? I went to Frank for my case. He did way above and beyond what he was required to. He was understanding and fought hard for my case. He was tough against my evil opponent and spent months working with me to make sure I got what I was looking for. My case was not a huge money case either but I felt that Frank took just as much time and effort on this, as he would on any other case. He has been doing this a long time and knew the questions I was going to ask before I even asked them. He helped me from beginning to end. Fair and Honest and his wife Susan is sweet as pie. If you want a lawyer who is professional, courteous, returns calls when he says, and knows your case- this wouldn't be the practice for you. You know you had a bad experience when you require legal advice on how to deal with your lawyer... we had to consistently call him for updates- despite his assurances he would call us! He had an issue with us using cellphones- who has landlines these days? 3 times I asked for a receipt for payment- never got it. Two days before our court hearing my husband called for Clarification on some points and he was told that he was being aggressive calling so often, and frank said he had done more than the $500 we paid covered!!! He hung up on my husband twice. I sent 5 emails- only got a reply when it involved $$$$ for them. Honestly- he is what he is- a typical ambulance chaser. I am surprised he doesn't advertise on shopping carts in Safeway! I have given two stars simply because I knowing how they practice- they would harass me if I have them one and would try to make me change the rating. read more
