So the owners son came back out at 3:30am to plow the lot that didn't even need plowed because all of the rain has melted the snow that he didn't even try to plow in anyway. Spread all kinds of salt that was unnecessary to use since who even knows when we will see snow again. The owner of the company shouldn't mix family with business or at least get his young immature son in his place and train him the proper way to do things. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had to deal with his immature son having a temper tantrum because he was asked to stop plowing all of the snow in people yards.

Anyway, these guys have been very helpful in acquiring the supplies I needed to build a dry rock terrace in my backyard. I have not found a better price on gravel either! Great guys, hard workers, with 3 generations of experience and visiting them on Rt 366 is easy peasy. I decided to go with them after shopping around to multiple landscape supply companies. What reminded me they had the rock I needed was that I drove by when they were dynamiting the landscape near the road. Cool beans! This encouraged me to begin my rock wall adventure. There are others who offer things like Barn Stone, Belgian Block, Mountain Laurel, but you may not find all of those options here. However, if you want gravel, including up to R4 limestone (larger than a baseball), mulch, etc., they'll deliver to most close places for as little as $20 per load and they have trucks up to the size of tri-axle to handle even the biggest jobs. When I first visited, they had built a mound of dirt literally up to the sky and were covering it with a specially-made white tarp that is customized to their job. I ordered roughly 10 tons of hand-picked stones and they were very forthcoming and we worked together to get what I needed.

My late husband and I made the excellent decision, about 5 years ago, to have Pittsburgh Garage…read moreinstall SwissTrax flooring and garage cabinets in our 1950s ranch garage. This was an investment for us, and we certainly put our trust in the right people. Everything they promised has proven to be 100% true. The SwissTrax flooring still looks great, many years later; and the cabinets are guaranteed for life. I recently had an issue, and Elijah, whom I remembered from the initial installation as being wonderful, immediately called back and two kind professionals, Kaine and Dante, were at my home the next day fixing the problem. I highly, highly recommend doing business with Pittsburgh Garage! Their integrity is the real deal.

We had them coat/seal our front and back concrete porches after meeting with their representative…read more In less than 1 year, the coating started to separate from the concrete on the front porch. We called and they sent a representative out. He took pictures and said they couldn't get to us since it was fall and the weather could be a problem due to temperature but that we would be first in the queue for the spring. Waited... No call to schedule so we called. We were passed to a couple of different people, no return calls to schedule. After multiple attempts, we were passed to someone for scheduling (finally). She told us it would be July! I do NOT recommend PG. Poorly managed, not much for a warranty, and the coating product they sold us didn't make it a full year! Ugh..

Our carpenter suggested using Brookside as their products were superior to the big box stores so we took his advice and contacted Brookside. Kevin, the manager, was a godsend. I can't say enough about the excellent service and products provided by everyone we dealt with at Brookside. Carolyn & Jack

Please excuse the lengthy review, but I have to give a huge thanks to Whalen Exteriors and I feel…read morecompelled to tell the whole story so you can get a good sense of why you should work with this company. I called several contractors needing my roof replaced on short notice due to a series of bad roof leaks on an very old flat roof system and was in a rush to get the project started with the Spring rain well on its way. Shawn Whalen himself CAME TO MY HOME THE VERY NEXT MORNING after we spoke on the phone to evaluate my roof. While I had to chase other contractors down for their bids, he sent me his bid in a timely manner. Not only that, HIS BID WAS COMPETITIVE with the other 2 estimates I obtained and more importantly, HE AGREED TO PUSH BACK OTHER JOBS to accommodate our roof project... it was an emergency since our roof was actively leaking! We had to wait a week or so for the weather to warm up to start the project due to the manufacturers recommendation. Shawn really listened, because he knew my wife and I were very worried about the leaks and we had bad weather coming. So two days later he came out with one of his guys and patched our roof. That day after the patch job, we had a big rainstorm and were able to sleep through the night. It was the first time we hadn't worried about our home getting additional water damage in several weeks. We were really nervous leading up to the project because firstly, it's such a big financial commitment, and second, we didn't want to have to deal with any roof issues going forward for a really long time. The days leading up to the install, I was frequently texting Shawn with questions as well as requests for colors and materials I preferred for the re-roof. HE WAS ALWAYS QUICK TO GET BACK TO ME with answers and to confirm the changes to my order and NEVER GAVE THE IMPRESSION I WAS BOTHERING HIM. When the project got delayed a couple days due to the weather, Chuck from his office kept me updated. Big shoutout to Chuck! His project manager got sick the first day of the install so Shawn showed up to make sure everything got started without any problems. HIS CREW WAS WELL STAFFED, EFFICIENT, AND FINISHED THE JOB IN 2 DAYS. They came back on the 3rd day to do a quality check without me asking. For anyone who has coordinated renovation work on their home in any capacity, you know how rare it is to have a truly professional experience with a contractor. We are thrilled with the job Whalen Exteriors did!

VERY disappointed with this company. A friend referred me to the company based on him purchasing…read morematerials from them. He told me they do installs also. I began communicating with them 6/22/26. There were emails back and forth several times, ironing out the details of the materials and work I wanted to have done. I thought it was odd that no one was calling me to discuss the details or to set up an appointment to come to my home to get exact details themselves. I got my first phone call from the company on 7/7/26. The woman I spoke with was very friendly and seemed to be very genuine. I explained I would be on vacation should see reach out and me not respond. She explained that their installers are a third party company and had to work with them to get the quote, but said she had all the information she now needed to get that. I was given the impression that I would have the quote to me by the time I returned from vacation. I did not. A month has now passed since my initial contact with the company. I emailed them 7/27/26 asking about the quote, and the response I received was that they were still waiting on the 3rd party (installers) and the person they were waiting on was on vacation and wouldn't be back for another 2 weeks. At that point I was sure, as I had suspected earlier, that I was being strung along the whole time. I have no respect for people/companies that operate on lies. Just be honest with customers and tell them you don't want the job or you are too busy to get to it. Total disrespect. Everyone's time is valuable. I truly don't know how people can do this to people. Friends that wanted similar work done were waiting to see how things went with mine. I have already begun sharing my experience with those people and others and I will continue to do so. I do NOT recommend this company in any capacity.
