He gave us excellent recommendations to improve our home's marketability, and with his guidance, we found a buyer the first weekend our home was listed. He even was able to help the buyer's agent understand the inspection and assist when the buyer's mortgage was going to be delayed. He made solid recommendations as to inspectors, loan officers, and title companies. When it came time to buy our new house, David was patient and helpful each step of the way. His extensive experience with construction and remodeling really paid off - he was able to point out areas that were concerns and not concerns during tours of potential homes and our inspection. He is also not afraid to negotiate and zealously advocated for the best deal for our family. David personally is a funny, down to earth guy who is quick to respond and clear in his communication. Even after our closing and move in, he has stopped by to check on our house and answer questions. Our first home buying experience was a nightmare, but with David, it was anything but. I would highly recommend him.

David listened to our first-time buyer questions and concerns, clearly explained the home buying process, recommended lenders/inspectors and ensured our paperwork was correct. When it came time to sell our first home after several years, David helped us quickly sell the property and negotiate a great deal on our new place. We have referred David to several friends and colleagues and would recommend him to anyone who is looking to buy, sell or lease in Houston.

We essentially did all the work to facilitate our closing and he collected a big check for doing hardly absolutely nothing (he got 16k to be exact). He did not help us with the following: 1. Help us find the home or any other homes. We already had the home selected and he couldn't get us any additional discounts. His representation did nothing for us 2. Walk us through/decode the contract or Walked us through the process 3. Review our Perry appraisal 4. Checked on the house to make sure things were on schedule or Meet our construction manager 5. Checked for Construction delays 6. Help us get a better interest rate with lender 7. Assist us on our inspection or attend our demo before closing 8. Attend our closing (he could have, I asked) 9. He did not coordinate our funds for transfer because I did all this with the underwriter myself I talked to him about this and we had to essentially tell him that he didn't earn that money and some incentive should be given. He gave us peanuts. Had we known he would be hands off, we would have gone with a broker who would offer us a rebate. A lesson learned for us but what a crummy thing to do. Consumers and sellers, please watch out for sharks.

After several weeks with this agent, I realized that they lacked ambition and seemed to have a difficult time listening to my needs, so I fired them. I took to the internet to find a Realtor that has a web presence, experience, confidence and was professional. I chose 3 Realtors and decided I would use the first one that responded to my call. The first two Realtors that I called didn't answer their phones or even call back after the first day. When I called Skip, he answered his phone right away. I met with Skip and he was showing homes the very next day. He was very insightful and gave lots of good feedback about the area, price range, conditions and construction standards. He worked hard and found the dream home within 2 days. Skip gave all the relevant and current sales information to help determine an offering price. He negotiated diligently and based on his hard work, I purchased our home below market price and significantly below asking price. If you are considering a home purchase, I would highly recommend Skip. He gave me the tools and confidence needed to get the deal done with limited issues. (He even recommended a better lender and we saved a 1/4% interest) If you are going to sell your house, you will want Skip working for you, otherwise he might be representing the buyer and work against you.
