Javier was recommended by a neighbor and real estate agent. He came by early in the week to provide an estimate for removal of a tree and replacing with a new one. The city Public Works has me on a wait list that could take up to two years. The quote provided was reasonable and the job was scheduled for Saturday for the removal and Monday for tree planting. Surprisingly he and his brother were so efficient they were able to do the entire job within a few hours all in the same day. The tree removal was extensive with roots as large in diameter as the trunk. They were starting to lift and crack the sidewalk around it. A section of the cement sidewalk was even cut away to increase the planting area for the new Ginko tree to grow in. They came with all the proper tools and trucks to get the job done. Hauled away the old tree and soil, installed a set of 5' tall stakes around the Ginko tree for protection, and added a layer of top gravel above the 4 1/2 feet of organic soil. He also said the tree is guaranteed for 7 months if there are any problems. read more

I had an excellent experience with Francisco and his crew. Francisco quickly responded to my request for an estimate. His estimate was very reasonable, and he scheduled the work for just a few days later. His crew did an outstanding job. Francisco also was very pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend him. read more

Francisco & team are fantastic ! They are fast, efficient, knowledgeable, reliable and incredibly friendly. The team landscaped my front yard in the city and did an excellent job -- I cannot wait for them to get started in the back yard -- highly recommend. read more

We call Francisco each year to clear out our yard. It's been at least 4 years we have been working with Francisco and we are pleased with his work: very efficient. He's very reliable, polite and very honest. Glad to support a local business! read more

SOLID, Reliable, Conscientious, and Communicative! I really can't say enough good things about Francisco and his crew! Thank you Yelp for helping me find this AWESOME landscaper! Last year, my former landscaper pretty much ditched me. His business expanded and my humble little Outer SF Richmond District yard was too small of a project so he stopped coming by. I logged on to Yelp, did a search, found Francisco, and it's been magic ever since! Each month, on the dot, he comes by to maintain my yard and his prices are super reasonable. Moreover, he also checks in with you to see if you are happy with his work! Seriously, Francisco is 5 Stars, ALL the WAY!!! read more

I decided to hire Francisco based on the reviews here, and I am so glad that I did. He and his crew were very professional and fast. He provided me samples of mulch and picked up a tree and bushes from a nursery for me. They cleared my backyard of decades of neglect and transformed it into a soothing, relaxing space. I highly recommend his services. read more

I am glad their customer service is so good. I'm even more glad that you publicize it for all to see. One good turn deserves another.

I have been using Francisco Javier Rodriguez Landscaping for about 3 years now and have been very pleased. He is very professional and experienced as a gardener. I'm one of those people who let the weeds take over and then call him once or twice a year for a big clean up. He doesn't give you any grief about the state of your yard.... just points out what needs to be done and gets to work. Watch out... you may not see Javier or his assistants because they are hidden in the bushes, but you will see plants and weeds flying everywhere at amazing speeds. You can count on them to show up with all of the necessary gardening tools and they will leave your yard clean and tidy. They always organize the children's toys in the garden and add mulch if they have extra available. He makes sure the job is done right and takes pride in his work. I'm always so happy when they are finished because there's not a weed in sight and the bushes are trimmed and roses pruned. I can see all of my flowers and it's no longer a jungle. Javier knows what he is doing and won't mistake your plants and flowers for weeds. Best of all, his rates are very reasonable. Give him a try, you'll be pleased. read more

Javier was recommended to me by another Yelper (Poe T.). In about a day, he and his crew (including 2 of his brothers) transformed our jungle into a real backyard. They had to cut through enormous thickets of brush, thorns and weeds that have been breeding grounds for what must have been half of the spider population in San Francisco. I was really impressed with Javier's knowledge of plants (he pointed out the jasmine, lavendar, and other plants I might want to keep), the entire crew's professionalism and the care they took to not make a mess and to clean up the small mess at the end of the job. This was especially difficult in our case because they had to take everything through our apartment. Javier had his crew put everything into garbage cans and carry them up and down the stairs to the truck outside. When they left, you wouldn't have known they had been there. My two small complaints: they were a little late arriving (had to do with picking up everyone) and Javier said he would do a couple of things that didn't necessarily get passed along to his crew to complete. In the end, though, I didn't mind because they were things above and beyond what I expected him to do and it would have just been a bonus if they had gotten to it. Regardless, I would definitely recommend Javier and his crew to help clean-up or fix-up your outdoor space! read more

Francisco and his team are great. He is friendly, reliable and fast. Reasonable price. He trimmed a huge bougainvilla bush for me and hauled it all away and cleaned up nicely. He was able to fit me in his schedule very quickly. I will hire him again. read more

Francisco and his team always leave our yard looking great. They've done lots of yard cleanup/maintenance for us, as well as an excellent fence repair job. Good communication and reasonable prices. Highly recommend. read more

We found Francisco on Yelp, and he and his crew did an amazing job. He came in yesterday with his crew and in about 5 hours transformed our overgrown, spider infested backyard into a place we actually want to spend time. This included removing hundred of pounds of clay pots and turning off and filling in a malfunctioning water feature. Moreover, they did a great job of cleaning up. We still keep walking out onto the deck to look at the transformed backyard. We will use them again and will recommend them to friends. read more

Francisco came over the same day I called him to give me a quote, and he was right on time. He seemed very knowledgeable and knew the name/type of every bush, tree, shrub, etc, in my yard. He gave me a quote and we scheduled and appt for a week later. He and his crew showed up right on time at 730 am this morning and went to work. Weedwacking, trimming, removing dead trees, pruning, and mowing. The end result is unbelievable! My yard has never looked better. Plus, they hauled away all the debris and cleaned up any and all mess that was made. I give Francisco my highest recommendation and will be having him back monthly to maintain his beautiful work. read more

Francisco and his crew just finished cleaning out my overgrown back yard and tidied up my entryway and front yard from weeds. I also bought some flowers and plants from Orchard and he planted them for me. I wish that I had thought to take a before and after pic. It looks amazing! It is a delight now to drive up to the house and walk through the entryway. Looking out at the back yard which now is clean from weeds, scrubs pruned and flowers planted makes me so very happy. Francisco is a genuinely nice, polite man who really listens and makes great suggestions. He and his crew got to work and just didn't slow down until they were finished for the day. They are all great guys. I would highly recommend Francisco. His bid was very reasonable, but most importantly his work was great! read more

A storm knocked a tree down in our front yard, and Francisco and crew cut it up and hauled it away in about 10 minutes. Great work at a reasonable price. His crew had done some pruning for me before, and was very good for that job as well. read more

If I could give 10 stars, I would. I called 5 gardeners around my house and ended up getting 3 quotes for cleaning out my garden. As you can see from the pictures, we had a lot of trees and shrubs. These guys gave me the best quote. After reading how unreliable they were from yelp and him being 30 min late on the day he came to give me the quote, I was little worried about any unpredictable delay or cancellation. On the D-day, they were actually half an hour early and took them 3 hours to clean the whole thing. They actually got rid of a few more things than I asked for initially without any extra. I couldn't be more thankful. I'll definitely use them again and recommend to anyone. The only downside is he's little hard to understand when you talk to him on the phone, but it is not much better for the other gardeners around the area anyway. read more

In the tightest pinch, Francisco and his diligent crew transformed my wasteland of a backyard back to respectability. Overgrowth and weeds previously dominated the landscape, along with a small tree that extended its limbs to ridiculous proportions. He looked over the virtual jungle and made recommendations for which unhealthy plants were destined to be removed due to its possible negative impact on the garden's environment. Francisco and his staff cleared out all the undesirable growth and gave the little tree a much needed pruning. Massive amounts of their extracted work were hauled away as every inch of the backyard was cleared, cleaned and swept. Without much notice on my part, Francisco and his crew managed to squeeze in an impromptu appointment, and complete all this difficult work in a little over an hour for a very reasonable rate. Very, very happy and satisfied with his work. This lasting impression leaves me to believe I've found my gardening contractor for life. read more

I rarely hire contractors based on Yelp reviews, but Francisco's very high ratings convinced me to give him a try. I was not disappointed! Francisco was very responsive, prompt, and courteous. He was able to accommodate my schedule, provided a timely estimate, and completed the job quickly, efficiently, and well. Due to the configuration of the house, he and his team actually had to carry their equipment and take out tons of yard waste through the house. They were very careful not to touch or damage anything and Francisco offered twice! to sweep the floor and clean up inside before they left. read more

I decided to try Franc because of the good reviews. This is for a rental property that was turning over. I called him and sent him photos of the front yard and backyard, he quickly gave me a reasonable estimate. I met with him and his crew a few days later and they were punctual, friendly, professional and quick. They did an excellent job cleaning the yard, pruning trees and shrubs. I will definitely use them on a yearly basis. read more

This is a review about Francisco and his son Heriberto. I had an ivy plant that grew wild on the corner of my house. Here is the picture: https://photos.app.goo.gl/wHiZj3nEeB4XG2ty6 . I contacted Francisco about removing it. Francisco, looked at the pictures and referred me to his son Heriberto. Here is his son's business card that he sent me: https://photos.app.goo.gl/zPL3gJie158Q2Ued6 . Heriberto showed up at my house and quoted me a price of $600 to remove the ivy. The gardener that I actually hired has removed it for half the price including doing other work. He did everything in two hours. If gardeners are getting $300/hour, then I am in the wrong business. More likely, both Francisco and Heriberto did not really want to do the work. I guess it's more straining than cutting bushes. read more

Francisco and his crew were prompt (in fact they were 15 minutes early), courteous and professional. I was quoted a price that was reasonable and affordable compared to other gardeners. Francisco and his crew trimmed the hedges, pulled all the weeds, cut back an overgrown jade plant, dumped several huge planters, and swept the entire yard (even swept areas that they didn't even work on!) in less than an hour. I will definitely use him again and highly recommend him. read more

Hey do amazing work, are available very frequently and respond faster than any other gardening or landscaping service in the city. I recommend them to all my friends and family, even my landlord. Plus, you get to support local business! read more

Wow, Francisco and his team are great! They were able to fit in my tree removal project with no notice, they arrived when they said they would (of course with masks), and removed the tree in 15 minutes, removing the debris with them, and for a fair price. Why didn't I call them 6 months ago when I tried to do it myself? When the garden dies down in winter, I'm going to call them back to set up a professional irrigation system. Such a professional team-- thank you, Francisco! read more

I'm not giving this guy any stars! He has totally ruined my backyard! He and his crew are unreliable. They come up with excuses of why they are 3 hours or more late..they take on new jobs while leaving the job they promised you in shambles! They damaged items in my backyard and then try to tell you it was already broke!!half ass, everything! My neighbor is thinking about sueing him!! BEWARE PEOPLE!! read more

Francisco and his guys do great work. Ignore the reviews of 'poor customer service', he doesn't like to come right before a storm because weeds will just pop up. If you set a time with him to come within the same week, he will be there and make your yard look great at a very reasonable cost. read more

Francisco seemed very nice and gave me a reasonable quote for cleaning up my yard and doing some pruning. We set a date, which we then pushed back one week due to weather. He never showed up, and didn't answer my calls. I would have given him another chance if he'd called back, but he never did. read more

Bad customer service. Spoke with him about coming over to our house for a quote. We set and confirmed a time via text. My husband waited for over half an hour and even tried to call Francisco to no avail. I called and he said a later time would be better for him. I told him if that was the case than he should have at least text back or called me. Poor customer service or if he is that great maybe he should hire an appointment setter so he can stay on top of things. read more

After carefully listening to me, Francisco gave me a fair estimate for services to be rendered for cutting ivy off of high garden wall, plus clean-up & takeaway. The ivy was quite overgrown. He followed up with a confirmed text on date and time agreed upon. There was another follow-up text the day before - added assurance for me that appointment was on schedule. We agreed to another job of securing high fence with cable. Again, he accomplished quickly and efficiency. It was discussed as to how to go about it and his suggestion was the best for getting that job done. I happily recommend Francisco. Importantly, I will use him again. read more

I spoke with Francisco. He set up an appointment and asked me to remind him of the appointment on the day it was to happen. I called and reminded him as requested. He never showed up. He never phoned. He clearly is neither a man of his word nor even a considerate person. Too bad; I had high hopes.... Oh well... read more

Honest, smart, hard-working and reliable! I needed a gardener to plant some shrubs and found Francisco on Yelp. I called the number on his Yelp site, he answered promptly. Francisco said he was currently working at a job site but would call back within the hour. He called back within 45- minutes; I described the project; he gave a (reasonable priced) quote over the phone; and he said he could do the job later that same day. I asked him to give me 1/2 hour heads-up before arriving. As agreed, he called before arriving and arrived promptly. He surveyed the job and immediately got to work with one helper. They removed the dead shrubs; added more soil where needed; added fertilizer to the soil; planted the new shrubs, expertly. Francisco then stepped-back and suggested that I might consider adding a border of annuals. I said it was a good suggestion, but I would only want white for the accent color. He went to his truck and offered two different types of white annuals; pretty impressive. I selected the variety and they immediately planted them. Then he added a topping of light bark; watered the new plants; cleaned-up the site completely; then, asked if I needed anything else done. He prepared the invoice in the amount agreed upon; added a nominal/reasonable sum for the annuals; I gave him a check and he left. As I wrote at the beginning, Francisco is honest, smart, hard-working and reliable! Another Yelp reviewer gave him two stars, claiming that Francisco lacked communication skills. Based on my experience, if that Yelper had a bad experience based on communication, I'm guessing the lack of communication was on her side NOT Franciscos. Francisco is now my go-to gardener and I also hired him for regular maintenance at our SF properties. read more

Set up appointment in SF with Francisco based on generally positive Yelp reviews for a rental property. He failed to show up on 1st appointment date. Re-confirmed meeting a week later and he showed up 1 hour late. We agreed on pricing and work involved. More than 2 weeks later, no work had begun, so I contacted him again and he confirmed meeting time following day. Showed up an hour late again. That's when I "fired" him. read more

I found Francisco off of Yelp and met him last week. He and his just wrapped up and my back yard looks amazing. Very easy to deal with, his prices are very fair. The only thing I am mad about is that I did not find him sooner. I would definitely hire him again. read more

Francisco and his team did a fantastic job on clearing out my entire front and backyard that was covered with weeds and over grown ivy. He showed up on time and everything went smooth. Francisco was the perfect fit for my needs. He was available right away, flexible enough and did everything I needed to get done. I have had my backyard de-weeded a few times but never has it been done this fast. The last time, it took several hours but Francisco's team got it done in an hour and a half! Also, for me, I thought the price was very reasonable. read more

Reliable, hardworking and trustworthy. Francisco and his Team are good at what they do. I phoned him the day I landed upon his name in YELP. Read the solid Reviews and did not hesitate. He visited me that evening to measure, quote and give me a timeline. Within ONE WEEK - my project was complete! He stood by his word and made it happen. All the while assuring me it could be done. The work was heavy and required coordinating with a business in Sacramento to deliver approx. 2800 sq. feet of Sod. He also removed and transplanted plants. He also went out and bought parts that I did not have for the sprinkler system and sent his brother to Home Depot to purchase more gopher netting. If you are pressed for time-punch accuracy, let it be known that if he tells you he will be there in 15 minutes, give him 30-45. The likelihood of him coming from another site is high, traffic or other hold-ups are probable causes of delay. He will show-up! read more

Francisco did a great job in the back yard, he cut trees and cleaned out all mess we had in the garden. He cleaned after he was done and my back yard looks great!. We were searching for someone who could clean out the brush and overgrowth in the hilly backyard of our rental home in Miraloma park for a reasonable fee. Mr. Rodriguez most definitely filled the bill! To quote our tenants, "Francisco did a fantastic job - he was right on time, courteous, very professional, a great find!" He cleared out all the brush, dead bushes, small trees and even poison oak, and hauled it all away for a very fair fee. I would not hesitate to employ Mr. Rodriguez for your gardening needs! He's our "go-to" gardener for any future jobs. read more

Don't really know what else I can add to all the other reviews....Francisco is the best. He is reliable, honest, he and his crew are so polite. Our back garden was an overgrown mess after it had been neglected for six months having been used for storage for our renovation. He came out, gave me an estimate. His crew came out on time. They worked continuously for hours, I thought, oh no, he probably underestimated. When it came time to pay, he referred to his original estimate. I felt better giving more. I asked getting on a regular schedule. When I expressed my vision of additions to the garden, he was more than happy to suggest bringing out plants he thought might work...he would place them and I could decide which ones I liked. He will now be my monthly Gardner. As someone else said, my only regret is that I didn't find him sooner! read more

Charm only gets you so far. They were very personable -- and initially, I was delighted with the work. After that, it was downhill. They did not show up as promised - and when they did, their work was mediocre. at best. I wanted monthly maintenance, but they never held to a schedule. They promised to do numerous tasks - new sprinkler system renovation, plant selection, etc. -- and never delivered on promises. They transplanted a healthy rose bush -- it is now moldy and dead.. One of the guys came with a blower which ruined some plantings. After they left, i had to clean up after them. A terrible experience. read more
