Went In for an emergency and told them I was pregnant. I had been vomiting and diarrhea for two days without keeping food or drinks down. This is about their outpatient therapies. Pros: the therapists themselves seems to be knowledgeable and good at their jobs. This review is not about them. cons: Scheduling. My son has mild ASD. Kids with ASD need a schedule to know what is coming next. In addition, my son is starting Kindergarten soon, so for his speech and OT, we need it to be in the evening or on the weekend. On the phone with scheduling, they told me there was plenty of weekend and evening availability for speech and OT. They scheduled us for the evaluations and did them. When it came time to schedule his appointments they don't have a schedule. Suddenly, they don't have availabilities on evenings and weekends. Moreover, they don't really have a set schedule you can create. They'll just call me in the morning if they have availability. Then they want me to pull my son from school SUDDENLY and take him to a random appointment he was not aware was happening. All of that uncertainty is TERRIBLE for kids on the spectrum. It means that they'll be living their lives in anxiety over if they will be suddenly pulled from school for an appointment. They won't be able to focus on school, and they will miss out on quality education time. When I pointed this out to the schedulers (I talked to many, including supervisors), they said, "well, that's just the way we do things." I was also told that a "good mom" would pull their kid from school whenever THEY want me to. FINALLY, the speech therapist that did his assessment got him scheduled for weekly evening appointments. He has his first appointment and the therapist was so great. She even gave me activities to do with him outside of therapy. Great! The next morning, scheduling called me to tell me that therapist is leaving the practice, so they are cancelling all our scheduled appointments. They again told me I have to just wait for them to call during a random day and I will have to pull my son from school. The ugly: I am currently contemplating a civil law suit. We found an occupational therapist with weekend availability. THEY almost didn't take us because you aren't supposed to have multiple OT eval within 6 months. But they agreed to take us if I could get access to the eval Fransiscan did. It took many calls and emails and putting in a complaint with legal that they are violating Hippa by refusing to give me my son's medical data that they were holding hostage. Where does that stand now? Well, I am about to pay EXTRA to the new OT because they had to redo the assessment because Fransiscan still hasn't given me my son's data after about a month of a fight. They claimed they have the package or me to pick up at any time waiting at their front desk. I have been there 3 times to pick it up and every time I go, the front desk workers say there is nothing there for me to pick up. It is about 25-30 minute drive there and the same back home each time. Each time the front desk has no clue what I am talking about. NOW, apart from my son, I am dealing with the similar thing for me. My PT. The person that did my PT eval said I need to go once a week for 6 weeks and then they will re-evaluate. That was in March. It is now Almost august, and they have fit me in once. I have had 1 appointment. My doctor was shocked that I had only been seen once, and is in favor of me "jumping ship." That's right, the doctors in this system know that scheduling is so messed up they are recommending you use other therapy services. SO....If you want to go to a therapist that breaks hippa laws and does not give a rats butt about patient outcomes, go here. If you want services, go literally anywhere else. read more

Horrible care. My sister passed away from cancer at this hospital Jan 2022. They would not let sister's daughter sit in the lobby because she didn't want to go back to the room. Family members where coming to the hospital. We asked if we could use the chapel they told us we could not. It was freezing outside so we were standing inside the entrance to get out of the cold while we attempted to comfort my niece. We were told we had to leave. Prior to leaving we wanted to have prayer. We were told we needed to pray outside. When we went outside for pray the desk staff sent the security out to monitor us. I assure other than complete heart break for the loss there was no other expressed emotion nor commotion. They security guard looked uncomfortable for having to get outside with us. He just joined us in prayer. The staff was almost acting in such a way that they were hoping we would become irate with them. Days before my sister passed she told my mother the staff in this hospital don't care about me. I wouldn't take a dog for care at any of their hospitals!! read more

Worst care ever I waited in the ER for five hours to get an IV started four hours after all the tests were done. A day later I'm still dehydrated. They have a slow drip IV and they tell me it just takes time. In the meantime I can see the bones in my hand and the skin will stand up by yourself if I pinch it later on today over 24 hours later, I will finally see the doctor that will make a decision on my care. read more

The staff and nurses here are so beyond excellent. They have gone above and beyond for my family and I time and time again. I can't thank the staff and nurses enough - there's not enough kind things I can say. They have really helped us in our greatest time of need. I especially want to shout out ER nurse Hunter, he was so knowledgeable, efficient, and has helped both my grandmother and my father with their healthcare while also bringing some peace of mind to the rest of my family. I had an outpatient surgery at 12:30 pm and it was completed at 5 pm. I woke up at 6 pm and asked for food since I had to fast that day. you know what I was told " kitchen closed." I was offered a sandwich which consisted of a square dinner bun with a piece of water added ham on it and goldfish crackers. I have been in this hospital dyer and Munster and have been told this over and over. if you think your surgery is going to go over 5 pm make sure you bring dinner with you or have someone get it for you. you can't do grub hub because no one will send it up. oh by the way I am diabetic! read more

First er visit a good doctor. Gave good advice. Second time had a horrible female doctor. My blood pressure was 181 over 79. Dizzy hadn't slept in 3 days and could barely walk had bladder pain. As soon as I mentioned lain she keaned against the doorway, crossed her arms and breathed out and gave me a look. I knew what she was thinking. I said No I'm not here for drugs! I take pain control and got them filled 2 days ago. She said OH, YOU DO??? Then walked to the computer and looked at my medications. I was so Dizzy and the headache was horribile. So was my bladder pain. I was taken for a CT of abdominal. NO mention of my bladder. No concern of my stroke level blood pressure. She released me saying nothing wrong. Also said I was warned about coming back to the ER. WHAT?? that was not said to me! Maybe another woman same name or confused me eith another. She never asked for a urinalysis yet a. Urinalysis report was on my records! Ill hsve to get my report and show her name. She is not worthy of a doctor. Lies and don't write down why im there. I should never had been released. No change. Still great. The only thing I would change is their practice of using an MD and a CRNA and bill separately for both. If using both, charge one amount because we as consumers feel we are getting taken by those practices when seeing 2 identical charges. read more

Hands down one of the worst visits I have had at a hospital. For an ER they are very unorganized. To see people in way severe health than I was and still have to wait for over 3 hrs is ridiculous. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. People started to leave to get treatment somewhere else as I did the same as well. read more

Visited the Urgent Care in St. John indiana after working (typing) with a broken hand for three days. The staff has been less than friendly on multiple visits. Today after x-rays and determining I had a hand fracture I was told to take some tylenol, get some rest and to see a real doctor on Monday. I have been taking tylenol and advil for three days, I came in because I was in pain and the swelling wasn't going down. I was given a pat on the back and told to take some more advil and tylenol. Pretty compassionate people, not. If tylenol and advil were making me comfortable I doubt I would have went to see a doctor. Not somewhere I will ever visit again that's for sure. read more

Traveling and needed medical care. We arrived at the ER around 6 pm and didn't even wait 5 minutes before getting a room. Nurse Jayr came in almost immediately and was great. Dr Daniel Nejak assessed within 15 min, ordered scan and received results quickly. He was awesome. Everyone was professional, polite and knowledgeable. Entire experience was amazing and we were gone within 2 hours. Kudos to all! read more

Went in to see what I can do about snoring and was seen by Nedra Joiner she sprayed some numbing agent in my nose 5 minutes later she stuck a scope down my throat I was literally there 7 minutes was billed $400 and even after my insurance covered most of it I still got stuck with $145 bill then she tells me do I have sleep apnea I said I didn't know but I just wanted to do something about my snoring she said well there's a process before we can do any kind of surgery, so she referred me the sleep study facility and I scheduled an appointment but while doing so asked how much out-of-pocket was this going to be, Robin told me she'll call me back after she finds out. the next day she calls me informs me that all I should have to pay is my co-pay which is about $50. I spent the night at their facility hooked up to wires and probes for a total of four and a half hours I got a bill for $4,500 my insurance covers everything but $616 and it on top of that I got another bill for $600 supposedly for a doctor that was there which only there but all he was was a technician and I had to pay $117.65 for that one and this is all happened through the holidays thank you very much Franciscan Alliance for a bill of $878.oo and I'm still snoring. The worst,most degrading, unprofessional experience I've ever had in a medical facility in my life. I say this as a former athlete, healthcare administrator/ medical facility evaluator, and world traveler....i.e. I've have a fair share of experiences in many diverse places and treatment conditions. I would NOT recommend this hospital to anyone. It is clean, new, modern and looks very nice to the eye. Additionally the ER is ran very quickly, you're seen within 30 minutes, which is usually unheard of. A few nurses were kind. But this is where the good news stops. The staff seems unfamiliar with the true workings privacy and confidentiality laws, they are haphazard not thorough or accurate in their report of what you said (one staff walks out and one walks in with a completely different inaccurate report of who you are or what you said), Upon registering myself and family where provided another patients paperwork or nearly taken to back for someone else's procedure- 3 times! Finally, the ER doctor (E. Goldenberg) comes into clinic and berates me, questioning why I'm here, commanded me to move and contort my body into positions I was unable to due to injury and physical limitations. I was greatly confused because as a physician there are many ways for him to gain the information that he needed that would have saved him from being inappropriate and engaging in malpractice- its called assessment- including either reading my chart, getting accurate info from other staff, or even simply listening to me, the patient when I communicated injuries and physical impairment. Instead he told me he will "tell me again" and that I need to do it (twist body in certain positions) and that he assumes I'm not to moving into certain assumed positions because I'm "choosing" not to. He was asking me to move my head around freely after its been established that I have instability of cervical spine/neck; severe pain; and possibly inflamed and spasmed shoulder/neck muscles limiting me ability to move my head or neck without help. It should also be noted that prior to coming here I sought a lower level of treatment- at an immediate care center and they referred me to ER for immediate treatment and further assessment and to rule out life threatening illness. This speaks to the nature of my pain and condition upon arriving to ER and receiving this shotty treatment. The physician was rude, arrogant, and never came near me to actually touch me or assess me. The next direction he gave me, he prefaced it with saying "pretend you have a gun to your head" and I'm asking you this. This was a completely and utterly baffling experience. As a professional woman, with years of experience as a medical provider, a medical facility reviewer, administrator, and even patient---- I find it very difficult to believe that a staff at such a pristine facility with such resources would operate with such ignorance, unprofessionalism, and disregard to policy, laws, standards, or mere patient rights--- I'm led to wonder if prejudice and racism may have been playing a role in the treatment (or lack there of) that I received at this Hospital emergency room. Save yourself embarrassment, frustration, waste of money and Do Not come here for Treatment. read more
