I love Bird Park. Bird Park is (by far), my favorite park.... And ironically it's only 10 minutes from my house! Amazing park sitting in a huge area in East Walpole straddling along hilly Washington Street, Polley Ln, Pleasant Street, and Rhoades Avenue. Always a guaranteed spot for a good walk. Pets are allowed and never trash around. Lots of "whatever", hills, tree lined trails, woodsy trails, and bright, open areas. They additionally have 2 small lake areas and a stream running through the park. Definitely a place to stop in the area! Parking: There are 3 parking lots. 1. Polley Ln lot -- Right on Polley Ln, near the Old Post 4-Way Stop. 2. Cramped Pleasant St Lot -- For Kids Structures -- On Pleasant Street near the fork with Moose Hill Rd 3. Rhoades Ave Lot -- Directly next to Church, and is also cramped at some points throughout the day

    Cute little pond

I love this park! I am always trying to find great parks to walk my dog and this park is great! This park has beautiful scenery for perfect photo opportunities. It also has lengthy paths all around the park so each time you can pick a new adventure.

Lots of bridges to cross at this park. Great space to let the kids explore.

This hidden gem was sitting across from us as we had dinner. We decided to see what kind of park this was and was immediately impressed with the size and walking paths. The playground has something for kids of all ages. The older kids might want to bring a soccer ball to kick around the open field, a basketball for the courts or a football to toss. There are picnic tables and various places to sit and relax. Can't wait to bring the family again.

Playground is closed as of 10/25/2023. All the old fixtures for little kids are gone and there is a playscape with orange fencing around it.

There are some elevation changes more in the downtown square and just so much to look at! Sweet running store in the area that does social runs! Incredible food and coffee too. What more could you ask for? Pretty houses here as well and it is an affluent part of New England so just fun to browse and see the sights. This area was a pleasant surprise and (the Texan in me) can't wait to visit during warm weather!

Summers where you could rent paddle boats and row boats, private picnic areas around the pond where you had your own site with table and fire place to cook on. Miles of trails with an observation tower that enabled views of Southern New Hampshire on a clear day. Winters were magical, ice skating on the pond that was well lit for night time skating and music with a very large rustic log cabin that overlooked the pond. A place to socialize, enjoy hot coffee and hot chocolate along with snacks and food. A second pond across the parking lot was used for hockey games, and both skating areas were meticulously maintained. If that wasn't enough, there was a ski hill with rope tow at the end of the skating pond. So many memories of time spent with friends growing up all winter skating and coming of age. It was back in a time when we actually had winter here. Now, all of this is just a distant memory for the now elderly who remember how lucky we were. Tragically, The Trustees of Reservations who own the property ended all of these activities, removed the parking lot and tore down the majestic log cabin. I can only imagine how Dr. Joel Goldthwait who gave this property to the Trustees of Reservations, along with a large endowment in 1942 must feel about what they turned it into. Thank you Mario Pederzini and countless others for making Rocky Woods what it once was and most importantly what it was meant to be.

My Fit bit says it was a little over 11,000 steps. Most trails are marked good. There are maps posted every so often and most have an arrow that point "you are here". I would suggest to bring a map although at the place where I started from the box holding the Maps was empty so I just took a picture of the one posted. Definitely bring bug spray! This place is loaded with bugs. I was pretty bitten up at the end of my walk. I stayed on the main trail but there were lots of small trails to go off on. I was pretty disappointed to see signage that said no bikes allowed on a lot of them though. That's a real bummer for me and my beloved mountain bike. Saw lots of beautiful birds and butterflies.
