There are three parks along Front Street that are breaks between the commercial buildings and the harbor walk. This one is about the size of a big store and it is a pretty green space. Most of the park is closely-clipped lawn but there are concrete paths and some benches. The park is named for Brigadier General Francis Marion (c. 1732 - 1795), a South Carolina native who fought during the Revolutionary war. One of 3 small parks that you can use to enter the harbor walk in historic Georgetown. This one was the bigger of the two I visited. Named after the SC Revolutionary General, Francis Marion. The large square is lined with benches on the sides, and planter boxes at the front. A nice place to sit and soak up some sun when in the area. Come back in the spring when the color is in full bloom, and get some fresh air. read more
