I had to have my wedding band repaired a few weeks ago. The band itself was broken and one stone…read moreout of a long line of stones the exact same size was missing. I went to pick it up a week later and the stone that was replaced was considerably smaller than the rest of the stones in the band. I could easily tell just by looking at it. I asked why the replacement stone was so much smaller? The lady that presented me my ring thought there was dirt around it that made it look smaller. Mind you it was cleaned after they fixed it, so that didn't make sense to me either. She took it back and scrubbed on it until she realized it was perfectly clean. Then she came back out and said I was right, the stone WAS a lot smaller and that she "is sending it back upstairs." So a week after that I went back to pick it up AGAIN. It was the right size that time. The manager was the one that I talked to this time. He said he had no idea how that happened. If I could tell with my naked eye that it was the wrong size, their jeweler is either really bad at her job or trying to stiff people. I was still fully charged for the repairs as well. If you dare to have jewelry built or repaired here, be VERY vigilant in making sure it is done right! The ONLY reason I will be returning to this store is because my husband bought my ring here and I have to have it cleaned every six months to keep up on jewel loss warranty. Any future jewelry we buy will be bought at a more competent jeweler.

I…read moredon't live in Indiana, but on a recent visit, I decided to stop in and see if they could do anything for me. After 3 years I expected to be told, "Sorry, we can't help", but surprisingly the staff member said, "Let me clean it up for you and take a look." First, a free cleaning-how nice. When she returned, I was surprised they admitted there was an issue with the setting for that diamond and would replace the diamond free of charge. As I mentioned, I live out-of-state and they not only were willing to replace the diamond, but ship it to me insured, all on their dime. They also called me to let me know when the ring was fixed and about to ship to me so I could look out for it. The fix and the delivery back to me was expeditious. Argentum also distinguishes themselves from other jewelers. You will find unique, beautiful jewelry and every time I visit, I find multiple items I'd love to purchase. The owner needs to learn from his employee. When I entered the store, the owner, Bob, was in a conversation with an employee. He was behind the counter and his back was to the entrance door. When I opened the door and entered he stopped his conversation, turned to see who it was. Since I was not someone rich or famous or in his circle of friends he made eye contact with me, then turned back around without saying a word to me. He could've said, "hello." He could've said, "Welcome to Disinger's." He could've said, "Someone will be with you in a moment." But no, he did not say a word to me at all. Because I wasn't good enough to merit even a greeting, he turned back to what he was doing. The employee, Teresa, on the other hand was very friendly and helpful. I have lived in Jasper and Dubois county for about 30 years. I am a business owner. However, unfortunately many fellow business owners don't know how to treat customers. Bob is one of them. So if you go, be prepared to be ignored by the owner and helped by one of his helpers.
