Very pleasant atmosphere, good service, and the food was excellent. The "menu del dia" offers a diversity of choices. Will return.

This is a lovely vineyard. I read the previous review and it looks like the son has taken over for…read morehis madre. He was a wonderful host for our group with Gourmet Madrid. I really don't understand why vineyards in this area are such a hidden gem given my love of tempranillo. They are more rustic than California vineyards. However, they will move you with their passion and joy for wine. We also had an amazing traditional potato/egg frittata with our wine tasting....I may have had 4 helpings lol. They offer shipping to USA. It was economical to Illinois....not so much for New England area but bueno for me :)

We visited this fab little winery during our tour with Gourmet Madrid (pls check my review of…read morethem). This vineyard is just outside of Madrid city and part of the Madrid DO (district of origin.....for wine labelling purposes). Madrid bas been producing wine for ages, but is not as well known outside of Spain. Anyways the vintner here is an absolute joy, she is 70-80 yrs old, part of a family that has been producing wines for 200 years or so, and still produces them in clay pots which is a rare sight. Her enthusiasm and passion are infectious. She was generous with her time and sharing delicious bottles, some which are not on the market yet. We picked up a few bottles. They say every bottle has a story, I never fully absorbed it till I connected with her. She epitomizes it. Definitely recommend a visit. But in Spain always phone/email vineyards days ahead of your visit.

Duplicate of this existing Yelp listing -- https://yelp.to/ddLZFGjjII…read more This is the review I posted at Yelp's SECOND listing FOR THE SAME PLACE: YouTube brought me here! The reviews are legit for the tasting room! Having gotten off the plane just a few hours before, I wasn't interested in processing didactics in the museo part, so we went straight to tasting, where we were welcomed warmly! €8 gets you a delicious tinto, 3 ages of Manchego (aged under 3mo, 6mo, and older than a year), plus pepper jam, olive butter, almonds, breadsticks, and pheasant pâté on Melba. It was all delicious, and very filling after hours walking through the city. There was an upcharge for more expensive wines but I wasn't interested so glad we stuck with the basic tinto, which was the best tinto I had the whole trip (and I had some very good ones). The bathrooms were clean and helped so much as travelers not staying the night in this city. We went to the counter to pay our cuenta and our server (who had been so friendly and kind throughout our experience), got out here balloon animal kit and my son insisted it would be a dog. I knew better what would come from Toledo; I was right, a sword! My son had a ball with his balloon sword, until the inevitable (but that's how you know you had fun). You definitely need to stop here and taste Toledo before you leave all its beautiful sights!

We got the basic manchego tasting menu which included a glass of wine…read more Each of the wines are amazing - we got white, red, and rosé. The rosé was not sweet at all and they were all super smooth! The cheese with the olive oil and pepper jams were divine - we had to buy some to take home. The museum was lovely as well. The overall experience was great. Our server explained everything very well, was super friendly, and added to the overall comfortable ambience.

Looked for a good restaurant nearby and ended up at Babia. The decor was interesting both inside and outside. It was a weeknight and it was crowded at around 9:30pm. I was welcomed and seated immediately. One of the servers announced me as a Norte americano and I have been assigned a friendly waiter who spoke English. I was given an English menu too. I quickly browsed through and found Anchovies and squid to satisfy my unconventional food requirements. The anchovies starter was priced at 18euros. The waiter told me that it will be too much for me and he asked if I would prefer a half serving. I was happy to have a choice of the half serving. The anchovies were, well, anchovies . They were served over a sea of olive oil, they were perfectly salted and surprisingly didn't have a strong fishy anchovy smell or taste. They were served with baked crostini and tomato. It was immediately followed by squid and shrimp in garlic sauce. I could 't hide my disappointed look when this dish was served. I expected to see a lot of squid, I guess! The garlic sauce was a joke. I bit into the sliced cloves of garlic that were floating in the pool of olive oil and couldn't feel even a hint of garlic in them. I wondered what kind of soil they were grown! Flavor aside, it was lacking a wow factor in terms of presentation or the way the meat was cooked. Shrimp was over cooked and there was nothing to say about the squid. For 19.50 euros, can I be blamed for expecting more from this squid? Then I ended my dinner with a flan and English toffee. It made my sweet tooth happy! The red wine I had with my dinner was good with the right amount of sweetness. The service was friendly and very quick! I might visit them on another lazy night! Well, I need to be rrreally lazy!
