First let me say Greenwich Tea Burners is the only Tea farm in NJ! This alone is fascinating to me…read moreand after visiting the shop the first time I knew I would be back. The shop is very quaint. The variety of Teas were impressive! The hubby and I enjoyed all the Teas we selected. The Tea's ingredients are listed on each tea packet, I have to be careful not to get any teas with ginger in them because my hubby had a reaction to ginger in the past. I recently wanted to get something to facilitate my recovery and of course they have a Recovery tea blend. I've been drinking that blend for the past 2 weeks now. The service has been friendly and prompt. I follow them on IG so I stay updated on the events they attend and host. If you're a tea lover put them on your to do list!

Greenwich Tea Burners Tea Co. is the first and (currently) only tea farm in NJ…read more Owners, Rich and Michelle, have carved out a well-run family business with their daughter. They were very welcoming and went out of their way to give us a tour of the tea plants, and various other herbs they grow to add to their teas. The couple was happy to give us a tour and chat a little about the trials and errors of learning to grow tea shrubs in the Mid-Atlantic region. They both really know volumes about tea and the growing/production processes. I believe they said it's been 8 years now that they've been growing. Michelle was quite academic and intense about her horticultural and historical knowledge, as well as world trade practices and history. I definitely had a huge learning curve to overcome chatting with her, but appreciated all she had to share. She could lecture on this topic. They do offer events and tastings in their tea house. Michelle is proud and joyous to share all her knowledge with anyone interested. In the shop, Michelle had unending options. Blends with all kinds of infusions, decaffeinated or regular, CBD stuff, etc. With allergies and aversion to caffeine, I don't drink tea. But I chose some fruity summer blends for my husband, and a CBD option for a family member. I grew up on an orchard so it's always fun to see other growers at work, and it was a fun time touring Greenwich Tea Burners. They are close to the Cohanzick Zoo, and Greater Bridgeton Amish Market among many other local attractions Michelle and Rich are happy to explain.

The extra covered seating is less upscale, but provides loads of space for big crowds. We came earlier in the afternoon around 1:30pm, when they were first opening. This allowed us to get Adirondack chairs on the patio close to the live music performer. The deck and patio filled up by 3:00pm almost completely. It seemed like 50% had reservations and 50% were walk ups. All the drinks we had were really delicious. There was one bottled sangria, and the rest came in carafes. We tried the blueberry lemonade, strawberry lemonade, and the peach tea. My personal favorite was the strawberry lemonade, but all were great. My cousin tried the wine slushees and seemed to like all three, but didn't finish the strawberry banana. Who knows if it was just all too tasty, maybe?! We also ordered fries and chicken quesadillas from the food truck on site. This was a great addition to our day of sangria tasting and I was surprised at how tasty it was. It did take about 20-25 minutes to come out though. Finally, the staff was very kind and attentive. They come around to pick up empty glasses, but you need to order inside at the bar area. There are two gender neutral bathrooms inside there as well.

I have always wanted to go to a field/farm of sunflowers so I decided to give it a try and I am glad I did. It is FREE to enter, you do have to RSVP on Eventbrite to reserve the date you plan to go (obv. due to Covid). It is not a huge farm so there isn't a whole lot to walk. It is great for all ages. You can take your own scissors to cut your flowers - of course I forgot mine but they were prepared & had a basket full of scissors (that they do sanitize after every use). It is $1 per sunflower that you take. There so many sunflowers in all sizes. The owners greeted you as soon as you walk in and they were very nice to us. I would definitely love to go back to their next flower event coming soon (check their IG or FB page for updates).

Beyond the tasting bar was a bit of disarray in the communal area. Tables and chairs thrown about, no organization. Made us feel like we were in someone's garage. Weird. The Pinot Grigio in the bottle was way off from what we'd tasted on site. Once we got home we realized how oxidized and orange the wine was. Tasted horrible. Overall a very awkward and unprofessional experience, the antithesis of a "winery".
