My Ex-Husband, My daughter's father works in the design and marketing department. The school allowed my Ex-husband to use his Postion as a platform to harass me for as far back as my daughter's enrollment. Each parent logs into a parent portal to track thier child's progress and I was repeatedly locked out of my parent portal from 2016-2019. My name was removed twice from the aftercare release form and replaced both times with the name of my Ex-husbands live in girlfriend. Every school event would exclude my name from it's greeting cards. I complained on so many occasions that one director of one department would just brush me off to the director of another over and over again. My daughter lives with me in New York and she's with her father in New Jersey on the weekends but her report card would read in reverse and list him as a primary address and myself as a secondary. My private maiden name was once listed on the release form instead of My Ex-husband's last name which I carry. My private family name was completely unknown to the school and the modification could have only been made by My Ex-husband himself. Each of my daughter's teachers with the exception of one were confrontational or dismissive towards me and on occasion I'd catch them openly gossiping about myself or other parents. I had a child support increase modification which the school ignored for six months and that I had to pull my Ex-husband into court for while all along it was his employer who was defying thier legal obligations. The school falsified my daughter's amount of absences and lateness on her report card so much that there was a huge discrepancy between what the teacher reported vs what the nurse reported. In court my Ex-husband repeatedly blamed the tech department for all the electronic errors all along he himself is the site developer. It's just been such a disgusting experience at Dwight Englewood for me. Last Spring I emailed the school director to confirm that I would not be signing back on for the 20-21 school year in light of the pandemic. The director informed me that she had forwarded my cancellation email to my Ex-husband and she wouldn't accept my cancellation until she knew what the court said. when I refused to sign the 20-21 school year registration form by signature the same director told me that she had just rolled my information over from the year prior and that the school could proceed without me. The Dwight Englewood staff has literally bullied me for the past three years and I do not wish to ever revisit the experience that I've had at Dwight. In someways the school operates like the Mafia, I was treated so poorly and was always treated as If the school just expected me to just except the abuse because of how big and prestigious the school was. I'm disappointed and hurt, and The school shouldn't have taken sides and the issues should have been if not rectified at least addressed rather then ignored. It definitely wasn't the nurturing experience for myself and my daughter that you read about online.

We're so grateful this school and its teachers exist, and so close to where we live. The small class sizes mean that each child gets an exceptional amount of focus and care, and a bilingual education does wonders for the growing kiddo brain. The bilingual curriculum (French + American) is outstanding, and even though we don't speak French at home, we've watched her become such a confident and curious learner. As a parent, I've been impressed with the Singapore math approach they use; it's helping her develop a strong understanding of math, not just memorization. My daughter also enjoys the after-school clubs, especially Cooking Club and Soccer - they've become highlights of her week. The teachers are incredibly talented and experienced. With the small class sizes, our daughter gets the kind of individualized attention that lets her feel seen and supported. This is the only school I've encountered where all the teachers and students know each other's names. The campus itself is spacious, bright, and feels very safe. There is an enclosed on-site playground for the younger grades. We are truly happy we chose this school and feel grateful for the nurturing environment our daughter gets to learn in every day.

However, there is a reason that the praises of this daycare/preschool cannot be sung enough! It is amazing! I'm incredibly grateful for the care that my daughter has received here. My daughter began attending Lightbridge in April 2017, on the day that they began accepting children. My daughter was only 9 months old and I hated to leave her but work and life necessitated it. Admittedly, I was skeptical about the services at first as the center replaced another place which closed down. (They are not affiliated in any way.) However the location is ideal for commuters to NYC and I was really impressed with the full renovation and design. I loved the outdoor play/water-play area and the indoor gym. So I decided to take a chance. I couldn't have been more pleased! The lead teacher for the infants, Mrs. Jackie was a God-send! I am not being quaint when I say that she felt like family. My daughter was able to love her like an aunt/ grandma figure. And I genuinely feel that Mrs.Jackie cared about all of the kids in her program. I appreciated the consistency of the days. There is a high turnover rate at a lot of daycares and yet, Mrs.Jackie was a constant. Kids need consistency. That was invaluable! We are expecting again soon and I have no qualms about returning to work sooner and entering my 6 week old child into Mrs.Jackie's Care. Next, for a small fee, parents can purchase the "WatchMeGrow" Service. It is a private, secure, video feed of your child during the day. I set up the feed's app on my iPad in my office and then I can watch my daughter play and learn all day. For a working parent, it is priceless! That service alone is reason enough to join the center. Also, you can link 3-4 accounts together. My husband was deployed overseas and he too was able to watch the baby play. I feel that it helped maintain his bond with her. I definitely recommend the service! Also, they use the Tadpoles program to track your child's day. I know exactly how much wet diapers, bowel movements, meals, fluids, and sleep my child went through in a day. However my favorite part of the app is definitely the photos! They take photos of the kids playing all day! Some of my favorite photos of my daughter were actually taken at daycare and they're professional grade. Now, not every photo is hanging-worthy but I have a way to track and remember her life experiences. Lastly, to the most important aspect, the education. I am incredibly pleased with my daughter's vocabulary and it skill set and it all began at Lightbridge! At 20 months she speaks ~100 words and she is making phrases. She knows body parts, animals and animal sounds, nursery rhymes/songs, some colors, and some shapes. I recently had her evaluated as an admission process to a prestigious preschool and she excelled with FLYING colors. (It is trivial but she sang "Head Shoulders Knees and Toes" and sealed the deal) Also, we hadn't worked on the color "black" at home (its not one of our flash cards for some reason) but when she got in the car TODAY, she pointed at the seat and said it. She had to get that from daycare. So, I'm not guaranteeing that she will be admitted to all the Ivies but she has a good foundation so far! Then, her motor skills are also advanced! She does 'gymnastics' at another facility and her ability is clearly enhanced from playing on the equipment at Lightbridge twice a day -- and I'm being modest! In the most competitive preschool marketplace in the world, I think it is essential to start your kids off with the best possible foundation! I have found it for a reasonable price (with military discount) at Lightbridge!!! I HIGHLY recommend! Edited add: One of the most beautiful gifts about Lightbridge is the diversity of the children. Because of the slightly restrictive price they have similar socioeconomic backgrounds. However, each race, creed, color, and ethnicity is included. My daughter's childhood best friend is of a completely different ethnicity than her and it works! In today's America and the global economy, I'm fortunate that she was exposed to diversity so early. Cons: - You must pay with a ACH Debit from a checking account. I wish I could use my debit card for budgeting purposes. - The mealplan is new and I'm not too familiar with it. Most foods are provided by the parents all day. So that's an additional cost. - You cannot leave food daily due to expiration dates etc so that means that you have to pack a bag DAILY of food/ drinks which can be cumbersome. - Although all holidays are celebrated from around the world, there is no religious education in this curriculum. Even if every creed was included, it'd be nice to have some kind of exposure there but... nothing is perfect and I understand that it is easier for inclusion to leave it out.

My baby was in the infant class, and I have serious doubts about the professionalism of the staff there, as well as their certifications and background checks. A worker repeatedly pushed my baby down into the crib while she was trying to arch her back and lift herself up. On another occasion, my baby was left crying in a high chair for over ten minutes with no one attending to her, then was wheeled into the kitchen area facing away from the camera -- seemingly to keep this out of view. When my baby dropped her pacifier on the floor, the worker put it right back to her mouth without even rinsing it off. This is even more troubling given that their "no shoes" policy to the infant room is essentially not enforced -- I personally witnessed multiple people walking through the infant room in outdoor shoes with no intervention from staff. When I raised these concerns with the head teacher, Joycelyn, and the blonde woman at the front desk, I was met with attitude and dismissiveness rather than a genuine response. The moment I saw how they handled a legitimate concern, I took my baby home and never went back. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews. Look up this facility's public licensing record via New Jersey Child Care Explorer. As of this writing, the facility has three complaints on public record -- including one describing a staff member repeatedly pushing down on an infant's head, similar to what my own child experienced. There's also a broader pattern of noncompliance, and the facility currently holds a Temporary license rather than a Regular one. That's a meaningful red flag worth weighing seriously -- not just a paperwork technicality.

As a parent, I felt really good about dropping off my kids here as I knew they were taken care of very well. The place is very clean and the curriculum is engaging. I can tell how much my children enjoy it as they do a great job of sending daily updates and photos which really help us get a good grasp of what they do all day. Also, my kids always left with a big smile on their faces. This only happens when the people who operate this place truly care about the children. I can say my experience was about as good as it gets and we absolutely plan on bringing the kids back very soon. I noticed there were some legacy negative reviews that were tied to the previous ownership - but speaking from experience I can say unequivocally that this daycare is absolutely pristine and the right place to send my kids to. We've had some good and not so good experiences with other options and Genesis is without doubt on top of the list as I feel confident they take great care of the kids and keep parents regularly updated with their daily communication. Highly recommended.
