I have to say I have never experienced anything quite like the service I've just had from Fox Umbrellas.
My nephew and neice bought me a fox umbrella for my christmas present, which I was well chuffed with. However, having used it little more than a few times the canopy came away from the shaft. Not a problem I thought, they're a top company, and so sent the umbrella back asking for it to be repaired.
I then received a call, apparently from the director of the company, saying that they would not be able to repair the umbrella without charge due to my misuse of the umbrella. I was told that I has obviously been smashing it on the floor, which he could tell was the case because the end had been worn down. When I pointed out that of course the end would have touched the floor, I was told, well you must have been doing more than that. I was then effectively accused of lying, and was told that if I didn't want to pay to have it repaired they could throw the umbrella away for me instead if I liked.
When I pointed out that I had bought an umbrella for more than £100 and therefore I could expect to have it last more than six months, I was told that I had only bought an entry level umbrella and therefore what could I expect.
I was more speechless than anything else. How a provider of supposedly quality goods offer such genuinely appaullingly bad service, and still operate as a business, is quite beyond me.
I cannot tell you enough how little I think of this company. In all honesty, I really liked the umbrella, and thought it was great (up until the point it broke after a few months). But the level of service can only be described as the worst I have ever EVER expereince in my entire life. As such I would whole heartedly recommend you spend your money elsewhere. read more
