There are no electrical sites at this campground. A playground is next to the shower building. And news to me- This campground offers a designated area for those who want to enjoy the peace and quiet that nature has to offer. Loop 1 is a 24-hour quiet zone, meaning no pets, radios or mechanical device noises are allowed, ensuring a peaceful visit. The facilities are clean, there are a few large group sites, and a few hike-in sites. While my small crew prefers the hike-in sites, honestly the regular sites have ample privacy, nestled between the tall pines of this area. There is great hiking nearby, whether it's the Scuppernong trails or the Ice Age Trail, horse riding, Ottawa Lake, and some of the best mountain biking in the State (Emma Carlin and John Muir Trails). Not far from Milwaukee, Madison, Chicago, Pinewoods Campground is a great getaway!

All the people we met have been super friendly. The showers I have never used but the bathrooms are always clean. And believe me I would not use a bathroom that was not clean. They do let people rent park models and they let campers in on certain days I believe. Look forward to relaxing there in my days off.

I have returned to fishLake Beach with my physically and mentally handicap bedridden daughter. I am 87 years old and we travel . Unfortunately, the caregiver broke her arm and had to return to Arizona for treatment. We were scheduled to be here through but the caregiver cannot return because of the severity of her injury. We need to return to Arizona for proper care for my daughter. She was hospitalized here to have a feeding tube replaced and now needs to return home for further care. I to Debbie and was told there would be no refund of my money. There seems to be no sympathy or care for families. I hope the people here do not end up having problems like we've had and I asked, God bless you.

Very disappointing experience at Happy Acres Campground. We…read morewere told by multiple people in the office that it was okay for our dog to swim at the main beach, even though there was a sign stating no dogs were allowed. We specifically asked about this the day we arrived and again the second day, and we were told it was okay. Based on what the staff told us, we allowed our dog to swim. The biggest issue is that the campground website says there is a dedicated dog swimming area, but there isn't one. If you're going to advertise a dog swimming area, you need to actually have one. And if dogs aren't allowed at the main beach, your staff needs to be on the same page and clearly communicate that to guests. The water at the designated area we were directed to was honestly disgusting -- basically a swamp. You couldn't even put your hand in the water without hitting muck. Yet we're being made to feel like our dog was the problem. She was minding her own business, and the kids were actually having a great time playing with her. Then security came over screaming at us and making a huge scene, as if we were doing something terrible. We weren't trying to break the rules -- we were following what multiple employees in the office had told us. If your staff is giving guests conflicting information, that's a management and communication problem, not a guest problem. Take the dog beach off your website if it doesn't exist, and fix the communication between your office staff and security. Don't tell guests something is okay and then have security come over and yell at them for doing exactly what your employees said was allowed. Unfortunately, that wasn't the only issue. There were bees everywhere, and we actually got stung on our way out. It was also extremely loud throughout the night. We were next to what sounded like a race track, and the noise continued late into the night. Overall, the experience was frustrating enough that we decided to leave a full day early. We came expecting to enjoy a family camping trip, but between the poor communication, the dog situation, the condition of the swimming area, excessive bees, and constant nighttime noise, we won't be returning. Management really needs to work on accurate information on the website and consistent communication among staff. Guests shouldn't be put in a position where they're following instructions from your employees and then being treated like they're breaking the rules.
