I bought a firm mattress from FOX Mattress but they delivered a very saggy mattress. After the first night I called FOX Mattress to let them know they sent the wrong mattress. I was told to sleep on it for 2 week telling me that it was firmer than I though. After the two weeks I called to let FOX Mattress know it was still saggy and not good for my back. The man I spoke to told me there was nothing they would do to make it right. I told him we will let the court decide that. The next day a woman called me and told me she was the owner and that she was sending me the firm mattress. Now another week has gone by and the firm mattress has not shown up. I want to thank Fox Mattress for taking care of a mattress problem that I had. I had bought a adjustable twin xl bed set this was my 3 one in several years. Never had an issue until my this last mattress. When I took it back to them the manager did not want to fix it for me so he said I was just out of luck . But I decided to reach out and to management again and I old manager was no longer there and Chelsea was unaware of the problem I had and she jumped right in and took care of the problem by reply to me and she did a fantastic job wi speaking to the owner of Fox Mattress and because the had pictures of the issue with the bad mattress. We were among the many homes that flooded during Ian, and we had to replace our mattresses and frames and box springs right away! Fox Mattress came through for us in a big way. I work near the store and went during my lunch hour, so I didn't have a lot of time. I was looking at just a twin mattress for the spare bedroom where we had a low bed and mattress, I tested a few and picked out a medium firm one, I paid for our order Heidi said she'd take care of the rest of the paperwork and schedule delivery. After some thought that same day, we decided to go ahead and replace our king size master bedroom bed, also like the whole house, got over 5 inches of water. So I called Heidi back and we ordered the king size version in addition to my original order. Our beds were delivered in a few days, and we realized the twin mattress was not going to be big enough. I called and asked if we could exchange it for a full size mattress set, and they said we could just pay the difference and they would swap it out! We recently purchased a new mattress from Fox, along with the adjustable base. Found a mattress I liked and was able to customize the top, which they can do because they make the mattresses there! Fox was recommended by some folks who shared a dock at Halifax Harbor Marina. So I called after checking out their web site. I explained that my odd shaped inline Queen/regular mattress was a six inch two piece bare foam in need of replacement. (A minor understatement) This mattress is for my master cabin with an inline bunk on my 1987 Irwin 38 CC. I called the day before to check their workload asking if they could use the old foam to template the shape but return to me so I'd have somewhere to sleep while they made my mattress. I was encouraged to come ahead. Next day I arrived about 9:30 a.m. at Fox and was greeted and allowed to sample a number of different firmnesses to choose what would work for me. They told me that if they couldn't finish my new mattress the same day I would be able to pick up my old foam before the end of the day. And surprise of my life they called before 3 p.m. to say my new custom foam mattress complete with topper was ready for pickup! Now that's a first class service! I have waited almost a month now before posting as I wanted to check the long term comfort. I am over the moon on all counts regarding the service and products. My Fox Mattress is the BEST investment I ever made! I've owned it for over a year now and am SO thankful I bought the heavy duty adjustable base! I am a side sleeper because I have GERD & can't lay flat on my back. During the past year I had hip replacement surgery AND shoulder replacement surgery which prevented me from laying on my sides. My wife and I purchased mattresses from Fox about 6 months ago. My wife's mattress was excellent and she immediately was sleeping more soundly and comfortably. This is the ONLY PLACE you need to shop for your next bed. Fox Mattress builds their beds right on location to your specifications. They customize. Try that in a big box store. They are super knowledgeable about their products and spend a great deal of time learning your sleeping needs. They have a new two-sided foam bed that uses cubes, 3 per side, that you can get in different densities to suit your comfort. You can rotate, flip and shuffle them all you want and if you don't find you started with the right combination of cubes, you can exchange them free for 90 days. I have never slept so well. Don't forget to ask about the gel pillows. If they're right for you, they're really, really right. I love mine. My wife preferred one of their foam pillows for herself. Long story short, we had an amazing experience with the entire team at Fox Mattress. This review is extremely long, but if you are in the process of searching for a new mattress (like I was recently), perhaps this information can help you out a bit. My wife and I spent countless hours over the course of 3+ months researching where to get the best mattress. We knew the Sealy/Simmons/Serta brands were not the way to go (from personal experience, and for other reasons I suggest you research yourself), but the new fad of "bed in a box" online stores looked very intriguing to us. There are hundreds of these types of sites online, and even though I've never heard of these companies, the price seemed reasonable and the reviews for all of these companies looked fantastic (it was honestly hard to find a "bad" one, which seemed odd...). Upon closer investigation we found out just why these reviews were so good - the reviews on the top mattress review sites were actually paid/affiliate links. So basically those "good reviews" were fabricated to make more money for the sites promoting them. Not saying that all of these brands are bad, but if you actually dig into the mattress specifications you will see why they seem too good to be true. Lower quality foam and latex, everything sourced from China, impossible "warranties", etc. So we were back to square one after many months of research. It's extremely difficult to find credible sources for mattress information online, but there are a few places if you know where to look. I found that the most credible sources overwhelmingly suggest you visit a local manufacturer if you have one close by - that way you can feel the mattress, ask tough questions, etc. Lucky for those in the greater Daytona Beach area, we DO have a local manufacturer that makes all of their beds in-house - Fox Mattress. My family is so used to buying everything online, that we hadn't even thought of looking for local manufacturers. This piece of advice made a big difference. We visited Fox's showroom, spoke with a number of the employees, asked a ton of questions and ultimately decided on a latex + wrapped coil hybrid. The entire process was extremely easy, and they even removed the old mattress for us when setting up the new one. Seemed like a done deal! ...Unfortunately for us, while the mattress we chose was nice, it was a bit too soft for our liking. We called Fox and explained our situation. Even though it wasn't their fault, not only did they allow us to choose a different mattress, then even came out and swapped it for us at no additional cost. The customer service blew us away. You will not get that with a big box store or an online company. The new mattress we chose has been fantastic so far. We stuck with the wrapped coils (with a lower gauge wire), but went with a 3lb high density soy foam rather than the blended latex. Besides the quality of the components being top-notch, we love the fact that it is actually flippable! We thought they stopped making flippable mattress years ago. Turns out that the big companies did, because flippable mattresses last longer, and shorter lifespans = more sales over a lifetime. Fox is one of the few companies that still offer the two-sided mattresses, and we are so glad they do! Flipping a mattress can prolong the lifespan by quite a bit, and while it might mean less mattress sales for the manufacturer, it's a fantastic value for the consumer. I don't normally take the time to write reviews, but I felt obligated due to all of the misinformation out there regarding mattresses. Additionally, the experience we had with Fox was top notch, so I want to give credit where credit is due. Please do yourself a favor and check out Fox Mattress. I guarantee you it will result in a high quality mattress at a better value...plus the added bonus of great customer service and supporting a local, family-owned business. Wife and I spent several days searching for a new mattress to replace the one we bought less than 3 years ago.Shopped Mattress Factory, Mattress Firm along with John's Appliance and Bedding . We were able to see and feel the materials used and a factory tour is available to see how your mattress is made. We had everything explained to us, all questions answered to our satisfaction, and offered a no pressure sale price. Chelsea did everything you would expect and more. We ended up ordering a king size adjustable bed with flippable twin xl mattresses. We have not had a better nights sleep in years! Fox Mattress is a family business and they go the distance to treat their customers special. We purchased three queen bed sets, three frames and three mattress protectors. The overall experience was less than what I would call ideal, in fact we are no real fans of theirs as we started out being. We visited the showroom twice as we scoped out the competition and learned about the products. We met with Trina who was knowledgeable and cooperative, and who ultimately sold us on their product. On the final visit to place our order, John was our sales rep. While not as knowledgeable or personable as Trina, he was receptive to a price adjustment I proposed on two of the bed sets, so we agreed and he proceeded to write up our order. It wasn't until later at home when I examined the details (items purchased were listed but no prices assigned) that I began to question his math. A subsequent phone call to Trina revealed (1) John did not give us the full discount we agreed to and (2) he charged us full price for the one frame we originally ordered, not telling us they were half price with a bed set purchase. Ultimately, we ordered two more frames and Trina eventually offered to include them at no additional charge to help adjust for the shortage on the discount we should have received. Case closed... almost. The last chapter deals with Fox's delivery. On our assigned day, we called for an approximate delivery window. Between 11am and 3pm. Good. 2:55pm, nothing showing. A subsequent call ended up with a rather rude conversation in which the Fox rep (not sure who it was) said we should never have been given a delivery window, they don't do that. There's more to this exchange than we need get into, but the bottom line is it appears Fox Mattress expects its customers to spend their entire day at home, waiting for the delivery truck. Guess our time isn't worth much in their eyes. read more
