Fox Accounting's sloppy tax preparation work would have caused me to overpay my income taxes by $8,950, which is 57% over actual federal and state income taxes owed. Luckily, I asked a highly regarded CPA to go over the documentation. I'm sure glad I did! Fox charged me $425 for the incompetent work, which I paid within 15 minutes of getting the online invoice. That was a mistake. Fortunately, I didn't eFile the returns prepared by Fox. I happily paid $250 to have my tax returns prepared correctly. That was a small price to pay for a savings of almost $9,000!! For me, that's a lot of money to throw away! Additionally, I was advised that I could pay $4,155 of total amount due in two payments over two years. That also really helped.
Fox Accounting's website may look nice and glossy, but it's certainly not a reflection of the terrible, careless service I received. To add insult to injury, Fox Accounting wouldn't even issue a refund for the useless work they did, even though they previously acknowledged their sloppy work. I didn't even get a simple response to my request for a refund.
Stay away. Don't let them throw your money away!
