When I went to file my taxes this year, I noticed there was a mistake made on the 2024 tax filing so in order to fix that I attempted to hire this company as my CPA. We set a phone call appointment at 9 AM. No one from this company called me until 10 AM which was at a time where I was not available anymore. In the voicemail, the CPA Mike even stated that there may have been a miscommunication and he's sorry that he didn't call earlier in the day. This is no problem for me as I called back when I was available to reset a phone call appointment. I mentioned to them when they call me to please call twice as sometimes it's easy to miss the first call. When we set the next appointment, Mike never called. Instead he said he thought I was going to swing by the office for an appointment on a Saturday. Odd since he never reached out on Saturday to see if I was coming, but for some reason, he expected me to come. I called back on Monday and said hey I'd like to sign the paperwork to on board. I spoke with Mike. He said that that's great and to call Faith their office manager. Where she was then happy to email me over the client agreement where I can print sign and scan back to them via email. The agreement was signed the same night. The next morning I receive a call from Faith where she leads off by saying we received your signed agreement and I spoke to the CPA and he stated that I No showed two appointments. Bear in mind, even if I was supposed to call in directly to Mike. There is no direct line to call into anybody at the office as they have a typical extension tree you have to deal with. So if you're ever calling them and they ever set an appointment with them, just so you know in order to get a hold of them you have to go through their extension tree. Makes sense as a client that you would have to do that for a phone appointment and they wouldn't call you.. icing on the cake was this was about a 2 to 3 week back-and-forth process and they decided as a favor to me on April 15 today tax day they would not be accepting me as a new client, but they would be happy to charge me $100 to file an extension. Just in case any other firm does this for you, I hope everyone knows you're able to file an extension for free online. I would say a normal company would have told me when I missed an appointment that they would not accept me as a client and it would've been nice to know that two weeks ago. Good luck to whoever attempts to work with this company. Patrick Rucker won't be your CPA. Just a guy named Mike with an assistant named Faith, who is not interested in arguing the facts. Let's see if they have a cookie cutter response to this review as I'm sure they will.

We engaged them to file several years of back taxes and to negotiate with both the IRS and the California Franchise Tax Board. We paid approximately $8,000 for these services. They had no issue collecting monthly payments. Unfortunately, that was the only part of the engagement that functioned smoothly. Our account was repeatedly neglected. During a business realignment, our assigned representatives changed, and our case was effectively lost. After months of follow up on our end, our back tax filings were eventually completed only after we escalated the issue and spoke directly with leadership, who assured us the relationship would improve. It was during this time that we learned the Tax Tiger brand operates through affiliates or franchise locations. The values and level of service advertised by the original brand did not carry through to the local office we hired. The focus appeared to be on revenue collection rather than client advocacy or results. We were later told that our income level made us ineligible for meaningful assistance with IRS or FTB payment plans, information that should have been disclosed before accepting our case and our money. What followed was nearly two years of repeated calls and emails, constant delays, and excuses such as staff turnover, maternity leave, or employees no longer being with the company. Eventually, we were informed that our situation was "more complicated" and were asked to pay additional fees just to remain a client. At that point, we chose to cut our losses and disengage. When negative feedback is posted, the company responds with misleading statements and false accusations in an attempt to shift blame rather than acknowledge failures in service. Based on our experience, we do not believe this office operates with the faith based values they promote. We strongly advise others to carefully research alternatives before engaging Tax Tiger, particularly the San Diego location. Save your time, money, and energy.

There are 2 sure things in life; everyone dies and the IRS will get their taxes from you. Tax Law Center is more affordable, charging about 1/5 the cost to help guide you in resolving your tax debt yourself. They're going to get their taxes so address the IRS sooner than later and start a plan to pay them.

Many lies along the way and as of last week he told me there was only one more task to complete but he bailed. I am long distance so maybe he is better when someone is on his doorstep.
