You go and they give you a price and have you pay difference based on what insurance covers (normal practice). Then you get surprise bills in the mail later for same service saying you owe more money. This has now happened multiple times and for prophylactic cleans no less. Another time they quoted me for other services. I agreed to price and go ahead. Then walk out to desk and person attempts to charge me $75 more than what was quoted. After politely arguing and stress she eventually admits that she did tell me wrong and changes it back. Shady and unfortunately cannot recommend. Sad because the clinical side is great.

Having multiple children who will need to have their wisdom teeth taken out, I had hoped to find a good oral surgeon and looked at reviews before making my decision. However, we were disappointed in our experience with Carolina Oral and Facial. The surgery itself was uneventful, but when we called with a simple question about whether it would be okay to alternate my daughter's medicine, Dr. Williams immediately angrily stated that nothing that my daughter was feeling had anything to do with what he had done. I have absolutely no idea why he seemed to feel attacked by such a simple question. He demanded to speak with my daughter and after aggressively asking her repetitive questions (leaving her in tears), I told him I would just call our pharmacist instead. Which is what I did, and it worked out well in the end, but it was a bit scary to know that I couldn't have a conversation with the person I had trusted to perform surgery on my child. Skill is obviously a very important trait in a doctor, but I am not comfortable and do not trust someone so unprofessional, so we will be seeking a new oral surgeon for my youngest child.

I was given options I never had before: 1) Replace the wire, or 2) Remove it and make a removable retainer to wear at night. I opted to remove it. The last time I had a retainer made (and it was soft plastic that didn't hold my teeth in place, really more of a bite-guard), they put this play dough like stuff in my mouth and sent it out to make a mold of my teeth. Today Dr. Tollison's assistant waved a wand through my mouth for 5 minutes and voila! the scan of my teeth was onscreen. They produce the retainer in-house and it will be ready tomorrow. I am very impressed with Dr. Tollison and his team.

From start to finish I always felt that I had all my questions and concerns answered. They were always understanding and even though they work primarily with kids, I never felt as though they were treating me like the others. Dr Tom always remembered what was going on with my life and asked questions at each follow up. It made me feel as though he really took the time with his clients. Each visit was on time. In the two years of almost monthly appointments I was never kept waiting and was seen to promptly. Being able to pay for my braces over a period of time as also incredibly helpful. It was a big investment but it's an investment that will pay for itself over the years. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending anyone to Dr. Tom.
