Nobody ever wants to have a problem that requires medical attention, but the staff at Mercy Health were amazing! I have worked in healthcare for over 15 years, so I know good care when I see it. Everyone from the techs, nurses, nurse practitioner, registration staff, and the doctor were all kind, quick, and thorough with my stepmother's care. The staff assessed, treated, and discharged my stepmother in a timely manner and made sure they gave us clear discharge instructions and directions for follow-up care. Rating from F to A+++, I would give them an A+++. I would definitely recommend this hospital for your care needs.

But I have a different situation and for some reason I am getting sent to a different Doctor. When I called to explain that it was my foot that was the problem they set an appointment with a Dr that does shoulders, hips and knees and had to reschedule so I had to wait another 6 ot 8 weeks. They set me up with another Doctor that didn't deal with the foot and I get a call telling me they had to change my appointment by then I was frustrated and the lady had the nerve to tell me not to yell at her. I said if I was yelling she would know. So my appointment got reset and what happened? I got sent to a PA of a Doctor who doesn't deal with the foot. Now I have to wait 3 weeks to see a Doctor who deals with the foot. I don't understand why they can't get it together.

I couldn't find any doctor in California who provided the 6th edition impairment rating required by the DOL. I knew of a couple of places out of state, but you had to travel to them, plus they made you jump through hoops before they'd schedule an appointment! I was close to buying a plane ticket when my union called referring me to this facility. They said it was done remotely. I was skeptical but what did I have to lose? From the moment I called Meals & Tolar, they took care of everything. I think I paid $75 for them to organize my records for me rather than do it myself. It was worth every penny. Other than that, I never paid a dime. They sent me to a local physical therapist for the actual exam, and then I had a phone interview with Dr. Brien James. He couldn't have been nicer! At the end he told me he would submit the report to DOL, but warned me that it could take up to six moths to get my SA depending on whether it's accepted, denied or they want more info. I was shocked when in less than a month there was a mystery deposit in my account. I went on the ECOMP website and saw that my claim was accepted and that was my first payment, which would continue for the next two and a half years. The amount far exceeded what I was expecting! So if you're looking for an impairment rating, I'd highly recommend Meals & Tolar! You won't regret it!

She doesn't run the typical practise that runs you through like cattle. You never have to wait and you always actually talk to her. She gives you her cell phone number! Instructions sent w paperwork included driving through their drive-thru to drop off paperwork, etc., but the 'drop-off' window was not clearly marked and I drove past it, then had to call them.....ugh. It's bad enough that with the current situation of Covid, we have to wait in our cars to be allowed IN. THIS will pass. I'm glad that I arrived 15 minutes early. Once allowed in is where the staff members showed their lack-of-interest attitude. That's always a red flag to me, and this experience was no different. While waiting in the exam room, I noticed the baseboard along the walls was missing - apparently due to flooding. I don't know when the flooding occurred, but in a doctor's office this is not exactly a comforting sight. Once Lacy Boyd examined me and we discussed the issues (took all of 5-7 minutes), I received 2 different RX's, one of which is too expensive (I am self-pay/no insurance), but wasn't told the cost until I called the pharmacy. I will have to go without that one. This is sad, not only that people cannot afford RXs but that I wasn't informed about the cost of the more expensive one, more importantly, the doctor associated with this practice is charging what she charges - UNaware that the rest of us are not in the same financial bracket as she is. The least she could do is FIX the baseboards, and re-train her staff! Upon checking out I was absolutely HORRIFIED at the office visit COST!!! NEVER ever have I paid this amount for an office visit! This practice was referred to me by a friend and sadly it did not pan out for me. I won't be going to my follow up appt either. Look elsewhere folks! OH! Keep the religious paraphernalia to yourselves. I was insulted!
