This one was fantastic! Pat and Eduardo helped us onto the boat, secured our life vests and then told us to give us a thumbs up or down if we wanted them to go faster or slower. The speed was perfect (fast enough to be bumpy, exciting, and fun, without being scary or dangerous). Toward the end, we gave a thumbs up and got some great thrills and big splashes in! We paid extra for the pics and video, which the staff sent to my phone (thanks Olivia!) It was sooo worth it! The pics are priceless! We highly recommend this adventure.

We also wanted formal training and certifications and we found this place online. We also thought seeing Virginia and the east coast a bit would have been a great time for my wife Brittany's birthday. So we flew to Virginia's SailTime courses instead of one of the the ones in our own state. We flew from California and I spoke with Connie and she was kind enough to let us stay on a 41 ft yacht (Adiona, a 41 ft Jenneua) for our stay in Virginia which saved us about half a grand on hotels. When we landed a lady named Brooke made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. When we got on board to unpack there was even a note waiting for us that said happy birthday. Brooke was a sweetheart for sure and we felt like family by the time we had set our bags down. She made sure of it. We met our captain the next morning. A man named Jim Lant who took us through our 101, 103 and 104 courses over the next 6 days. We had a GREAT time and I honestly didn't want to leave when we finished up our last tests. Those six days we sailed every day and every place we sailed too seemed to have friendly people there who all knew each other and our captain Jim. The first ocean sail my wife and I ever did together was from Norfolk to cape Charles and that's pretty cool. Well miss the people and sailing for sure! Everyone who loves sailing should come here and meet Connie, Jim and Brooke. You won't regret it and we won't ever forget it. Jim is the BEST captain.

Captain Jim was absolutely amazing. He was so patient and did such a fantastic job of teaching us about sailing and he allowed all of us to take part in one way or another. It's generally really hard to find activities that all 6 of us enjoy due to the age range but this turned out to be an absolutely perfect day. When my friend mentioned Back Bay I was thinking, oh snap. What did I commit myself to?? Kayaking where there might be cottonmouths??!! But I was thinking Back Bay Wildlife Refuge where I've seen lots of them. There were no cottonmouths. I promise you. Just lots of duck blinds and marsh areas that open into the bay. It was so serene. You get 2 hours, and rental includes the pfd and they loan you a waterproof phone case if needed which was nice. Because I was pretty dry until I got out of the kayak from our 2 hours. I landed in waist deep water, my feet sunk into the sand. I couldn't recover from the fall and face planted into the water - baseball hat, sunglasses and waterproof phone case and all. THAT waterproof phone case saved my phone and my key fob!! Don't do what I did Launch it parallel to the land so you don't end up in the water like I did. The young man that worked there was kind and genuinely concerned. When he arrived to pull the kayaks further up on land, he asked if I got hot. Because he saw I was soaking wet. I think he thought I took a dip in the water. But I told him, I actually fell in getting out of the kayak. (The older couple with their beach chairs outside Baja got quite a show of me splashing around. Haha. ) He made sure I was okay and asked if my phone was okay and to make sure since the waterproof phone cases aren't 100% waterproof. Thankfully, it was fine and so was my key fob. You can rent single or tandem kayaks and are free to roam the area. It's $35 plus tax but they offer military discounts 10% with ID so it came out to $33.39 for me. Staff was very nice the young man was the same person who checked us in and took our payments and the young ladies were friendly and kind as well. Kudos to the staff with their patience, because there was a large group (family) that was blocking the entrance to the shack. When it was time for them to gear up for their pfds, they ransacked the racks of life vests and staff had to politely inform them that they have it in order and will fit each of them individually properly. Therefore there's no need to take them off the rack. I looked it up on their website and if you have your own kayak you can pay a $15 launch fee so that's cool.

My kids and my wife were laughing. They helped us create a lasting family legacy moment we can cherish. I will come again and use them in the future. We booked a 7.30 till 9.30 sunset criuse during Harborfest, an annual festival on the waterfront…read more We boarded at 7ish with maybe 30 to 40 other folks so it was not crowded on the boat and we had our choice of seats, nice chairs with backs and arm rests. The crew were very friendly. Especially Connor and Lauren, the bartender. There was a bar with snack concessions for purchase. The cruise began at 7.30 out into the harbor with narration by the captain of the history of the harbor, the various ships docked in the harbor and the many shipyards. We saw dolphins playing in the water and were able to see the festival attendees, vendors and hear the music from the shore. There was a musician on board who walked around playing guitar and singing after the narration. We would have preferred more history to the music but he was entertaining. They raised the sails once we got off the shore and that was cool. We were able to stay on the ship after docking to enjoy the drone show that was part of the Harborfest activities, which was impressive but also disappointing in that it only lasted a few minutes, maybe 5 at tops. But overall it was a great cruise, nice ship that was clean and well ran. The deck underneath was also very nice with cool furnishings and is where the bar and bathrooms were located.

My family and I met the tiki boat at lynnhaven public boat ramp. Captain Robbie was our guide he greeted everyone with a smile and a lei that was a nice touch. The boat was a 30 by 15 foot pontoon boat wonderfully decorated tiki style with ample comfortable seating no matter where you sit had a great view of the inlet.Learned a lot about the inlet on the cruise over to our first destination lots of bars restaurants and beautiful houses cruising down the river every one waving at us. Tiki boats bring good vibes . We then arrived at the park beach Captain Robbie expertly docked us. Had a swim call and picnic it was so nice pretty much had the place to ourselves. Then back on board to cruise the rest of the inlet. Watched a beautiful sunset! I am really happy with this tiki trip my daughter said it was the highlight of her week.
