I was misguided by David Bales regarding investment opportunities. I am so glad I went elsewhere…read morefor better advice. I would go with someone with more experience who will advise you of choices that will be a benefit to you, not how much he can personally make from your investments. That place seemed like a "pop up" storefront. Also, his wife was his receptionist and he talked to her like a lowly servant. I felt terrible for her. Just bad vibes all around.

Do not bother with this company or any of their associates (ImpactPartner). I took the time to…read moredrive 45 minutes each way to their office in Cumming for a long term care policy. I filled out a pre-look medical questionnaire and let them start their search. At first, things looked promising. Six weeks later, they got me a quote from Securian Financial, one of the worst customer rated insurance companies. No thanks... I told them to find me another company. A week later they got me something from Lincoln Financial Group which was acceptable. The company owner David Bales told me everything looked good, no physical was required, and all I had to do was submit an application, do a phone interview and if they didn't find anything else not listed medically that we were good to go. We spoke on a Wednesday night and we agreed that he would have the application ready for me to review by Friday and I could go to his office to sign the following Monday. When he did not deliver Friday he told me he might have it by Sunday. There were other things he said he would do but never followed through on. Since he was going to be out most of the following weeks, I told him to let's get it done by Monday or I would have to find another agent as not having it submitted by this date would have meant many more weeks of delay due to our scheduling conflicts and that would ultimately lead to missing an end of year policy deadline. After submission, it still takes weeks for Lincoln to underwrite. I never heard back from Mr. Bales again. I think he was offended when I asked if signing the application obligated me to have to buy the insurance. He told me in several different ways that if I was not sure about the policy, he would not bother to waste his time with me. I assured him that was not the case, but he ignored me and never responded. I think his general attitude was well I got a few of your general policy questions answered so now I am entitled to a commission. Bear in mind this was just the application and not the actual policy contract. Avoid doing business with Lanier Capital Management at all costs unless you like to waste your time. They are not likely to service you well even if you become a customer. What I don't understand is why they would bother to do all that leg work and then abruptly decide not to close the deal... just a total sense of indifference and unprofessionalism.
