After nearly 6 months of them not answering phones for weeks I got a definitive answer on if they train to never answer the phone. They in fact do. Non stop called for two weeks twice a day with no answer and no call or email back until I finally threatened a lawyer and was called back within minutes telling me the 100% train to never speak to people who make a claim which is against BBB and when asked about if they do this a very rude and nasty woman named Laura Webster threaten to hangup because I was "being rude" for her future employers do not hire this woman she is unprofessional and a very nasty person. maybe do your job correctly or even adequately and people won't be rude. Report this company to DOI and the BBB and GET A LAWYER! They will fight tooth and nail to give you the least amount possible and never answer until you threaten a lawyer. This place is a scam and probably doing something illicit. No professional company should act like this. Worst experience ever with insurance company. Their insured drive was a young woman that backed into our parked car and damaged the right rear quarter panel. She tried to leave scene but witness stopped her . Got into an accident with one of their crazy drivers and they were totally at fault and I ended up getting sued by the trucking co (along with the guy who caused the accident. My niece had her car totaled, she was seriously injured and has lost wages. It has been a week and she can't get a rental car or any payment for her car. The customer service with this company is extremely poor. It's not the agents' fault but the company's restrictive policies. Supervisors like Hannah think a good tone and repetition equal good service--they don't! Good service means using common sense and owning up to mistakes and offering a resolution that satisfies the customer and the company. Here's what happened: I renewed my policy in Oct. 2024. That month, fraud was found on my bank account, causing me to use cash through Nov. 2024. While waiting for a new card, my policy lapsed. Founders never contacted me about my policy lapsing. In Dec. 2024, once I realized the policy lapsed, I called to renew my policy, explained the fraud situation, set up autopay (for the discount) with my new card. I also advised I would be seeking new a new provider as I was not happy that founders failed to contact me about the lapse in policy. I was sick from Christmas to the end of Jan. 2025. In Feb. 2025, I realized no payments were made for Jan. or Feb. 2025. My bank confirmed no payment requests. Founders told me the agent set up autopay with the old, compromised card, when the policy was renewed. Both the agent and Hannah confirmed this, but Hannah refused to issue a statement for my lender to correct my credit. This is clearly the mistake and failure of their agent. They should own it and be willing to correct it. Instead, I was repeatedly made to feel as if it was my fault the agent set the autopay back to compromised card, that was no longer active. In today's world companies will learn either the hard way or by another example. No one has the time or money to be played with. On February 3rd, my car was backed into by a driver insured by Founders. I submitted the claim through their app and filled out their claims form. The driver admitted she was at fault and gave a statement of the accident. The first few times I called they told me they were waiting for the police report and her statement. A few days later I called again, they told me they were still waiting on her statement. It is now April and it is getting harder to reach them. The last message I received was the number to my claims agent who is not returning my phone calls. I even reached out to the driver who told me she did give her statement. I don't understand why the claim is still open when the driver admitted fault and did her part. read more

This insurance company is a joke. For being a loyal customer. They charge me AFTER I paid off my full policy payment $47.00. I called to explain they made a mistake. They explained that because I moved out of state. (To a state in which they DONT cover) that even though I made my final payment and let my policy run out because they did not cover in the state I was moving to. They said that its policy because the US postal service showed a change of address to a new state They have a surcharge. They said they cannot remove the charge and it will be billed to collections. Founders refuses to pay for damage to my car because their client did not have valid drivers license even though the insurance policy was paid up and insurance was valid. If I could give 0 stars I would. I filed a claim with Founders because my unoccupied, legally parked car was hit by one of their insurers in April 2021. Adjuster Carla Rivera spun me until I filed a complaint with the BBB in January of 2022. Only then did she finally contact me about an estimate. I got the estimate but their recommended repair shop ended up doing an estimate for the wrong damage so they had to do two estimates. The auto repair shop obviously sent both estimates to Founders. Without contacting me Carla sent me a check in the mail for the amount of the wrong estimate which was a couple hundred dollars short of the correct amount. Once again she is back to not responding to any of my voicemails or emails. It's been almost a year. read more

So about a month a two ago I had one of their insured drivers side swiped my car and I reached out to them to let them know what happened and also gave them the police report file number and they said I would get a call back with 24 hours. We provided Founders insurance company with two HIPAA Medical Authorization for two years of access of medical record. Founders did nothing in processing of claims, and now they are requesting the additional the HIPAA Medical Authorization. The purpose of this delay is to dismiss and not to pay our claims. Insurance associate Gina Santonastaso with support of her supervisor Michael Morse made up some preexisting condition for my daughter - chronic migraine, which were never diagnosed by doctors. Founders insurance company refused to informed us about our rights in this insurance case in Indiana. We were trying to make a complaint to the executive of Founders insurance, but associates Gina and Michael refused to provide us with the contact information. Founders insurance company provided incorrect, misleading, incomplete, and materially untrue information on key issue of this dispute to Indiana Department of Insurance and that is violation of Indiana insurance code (Title 27 of the Indiana Code). The IDOI is not resolving consumer complaints, but protecting illegal activity of the Founders insurance. read more

**Take your complaints straight to the Better Business Bureau as quickly as possible.** Founders has somehow managed to get an "A+" rating on there, and I have at least been able to get them to respond to communication and give me updates via filing complaints. A drunk girl totaled my car, and she had Founders Insurance at the time. Founders acted as if they couldn't get in touch with the other driver for 13 months, until I eventually contacted her myself and discovered that she was completely willing to provide whatever info was necessary, but hadn't heard a word from them. Now, they're in the process of attempting to "settle" the claim by providing low ball offer after low ball offer. This tactic is designed to wear people down, until eventually they'll be willing to accept less than what's fair in the interest of just being done with the matter. These guys are the lowest of the low. They'll drag things out as long as possible, and then try to give you less than you deserve.
