Went In everyone other than the doctor or what they call a doctor was nice…read more The MD wasn't bad but he just kind of had an attitude the whole time I told him something and he pushed me off and said tell your main physician I'm telling him that I don't have one and I'm trying to find one and he just put me off. Everything I had to say he basically just said I'll go tell your doctor when I just told him that I don't have one he wasn't listening to a word I had to say he was just very incoherent what I was saying. $80 for them to tell us we're fine totally laughable of an experience. On top of everything when we walked in there was absolutely no security at the door whatsoever then when we came in he started dogging us as if you've been watching everything the whole time. Not sure what's up with this facility? I get you're upset with people coming in because they're sick but I haven't been sick in a very long time so this is very unusual for me that's the only reason I had to come in is because my throat felt like it was closing in on me and I couldn't breathe but he didn't care to hear anything I had to say and just told me to take ibuprofen or Excedrin and sent me on my way. Yeah thanks for telling me to take a pill when I can't even barely drink water because my throat is so engulfed no Covid though so yay. When he came in he kind of stepped back at me and kind of threw his hand up as if he was like repulsed to even touch and be by me when he already knew that I was Covid negative. The lady at the front desk was very nice but she also sounded very sick and didn't seem like she should be there so for people to be treating me different because I'm sick and treat me like I shouldn't be there at a place that is built to see sick people I'm not understanding why I get looked at and treated as if I'm a monster. The one that walked us to the room she literally threw us in there and slammed the door in our face and said they'll be here in a minute bye... Oh my God the service is crappy here! Can't say I would actively look out going to this place ever again. Very unhelpful and very rude. Reception got paperwork done which said deductible was waived and I was responsible for copay only. Fast forward 3 weeks and I get 300$ for initial consultation. Upon enquiry with billing, they had used 2 codes for my visit, that resulted in 2 charges. Everybody apologized but no one was ready to help. Patricia herself didn't do much. Spent 30 minutes doing mundane stuff and gave me 2 printouts to take home. These were most expensive and useless 30 minutes spent of my life. Thanks for reading.

With Kaiser, we received a long list of providers, almost none called us back until we connect with Paige. Her and the team were warm, friendly! Carefully walked us through the process and appointments. We found something that worked with our schedule and a year later I can attest this place is AWESOME. My son is thriving, they have given advice in each session, really dive into my son's special interests, and have provided a clean and safe environment. The current location has two rooms where they hold sessions. The front room has puzzles, and interactive toys while the back has a play area. My son went from saying one word sentences to 4-5 word sentences with expressions and all. While that may not seem like a lot to someone who hasn't gone through this process but let me say that the process is a marathon, not a race. And we are so proud of his progress. My son (3) loved it here and each time he goes he lights up. I am able to sit and participate in the sessions and each time I take away a little more. The current location is behind the Ace hardware area near Dutch brothers coffee. Dedicated parking spaces out front makes it easy to access. From intake to our final class, the staff made sure that the scheduling process was a breeze, and that visits did not fall short of expectations. They have an excellent staff dedicated to your child's development, and the office is pristine. Not just clean; very well kept. I noticed that there wasn't one tear on a book or broken toys. They put lots of effort into upkeep, knowing well that toys and books can take a beating with younger kids. East Bay Child Development Center has terrific speech therapists and therapists specialized in helping in all other types of child development, including but not limited to physical therapy, etc. We went through 2 different speech therapists and 1 or 2 therapy students which was a little harder for our son to grow accustomed to because it would take him awhile to warm up (which I've learned isn't unusual for any development therapy center), but each therapist tried their absolute best to ensure they were giving him the utmost care and attention.

My son is trying with his speech and he has rights in California to receive speech therapy any age. I found Language Essentials after leaving the speech services we were receiving at Valleycare (in Livermore) because I found the pediatric services there inadequate. I can't say enough good things about Language Essentials. My daughter has increased from 2-4 sessions per week due to her speech issues and so I am there in the office quite a bit. The receptionist Melissa is very approachable and kind. She is always available to answer my insurance questions and to help with scheduling. While there I see all the therapists come into the waiting room to meet their clients of varying age ranges and everyone seems in good spirits to be there. My daughter can always be found waiting with her face practically at the door for Ms. Lily to come for her. I love that all the children including my daughter think they are there to play and they don't realize how hard they are working. My daughter thinks we go to see and play with her friends and in a way she's right but she has no idea how much they are helping her achieve her goals in ways I couldn't and wouldn't begin to know how to. I have no regrets choosing Language Essentials and I tell all my fellow therapy moms and dad's at my daughters preschool (School of Imagination) and now we see some of them in the waiting room too! And now that I've told you the Pros, just so you know there are a few Cons. They are in no particular order: 1) if you have a kiddo in diapers, the bathroom for the main office building doesn't have a changing table (so we just have to go to the car), 2) the waiting room has lots of seating but only 2 out of the 8 chairs are sofa like and if you are a therapy mom like me and spend a lot of time in waiting rooms then you can appreciate a nice chair! I'd love to see more of those but for now we just try to get there a little early so I can stake my claim in a comfy spot while my kiddo works on chatting it up with her buddy/therapist Ms. Lily!

Considering the high hourly cost of private therapy, I expected a more specialized, individualized, and proactive approach. In my opinion, there are more experienced and capable providers available who are willing to take a more hands-on approach toward developing verbal communication.
