Chris and Michelle provided their services to my wife and I for our first home purchase. We didn't know what to expect and their kind, informative and educational approach to providing home inspections was more than we could have asked for. Chris is incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. He helped us understand the pluses and minuses and educated us on how to fix problem areas in a thoughtful and clear way. They spent several hours before our arrival going over every detail of the house that they could evaluate. Once we arrived they took diligent time in going over the entire house. Chris would lead and Michelle made sure that he didn't miss anything from the notes they took when they went through the house. After the walk through they kindly answered any additional questions that we had and went over the products and services we would need to fix items that they identified. I had previously thought a home inspection would be a negative experience and just one of those things you had to do. To my surprise they helped us get intimately aware of our house and feel confident in what we needed to do. We got 24 hours later a 50 page report about our house going over everything they found and shared while with us. It included numerous pictures well documented with the arrows showing the specific areas of concerns or just points of interest to consider. They have continued to be supportive of any additional questions we have had even after the home inspection and remain available for further support if needed. Our realtor who gave us a list of inspectors in our area informed that they are a little higher pricier than a typical inspector but offered a great deal of value. After having the experience and working with them, I truly believe for what you get out of it, they undercharge. I hope not to buy another house for a very long time but for us if we do, I will be using foundations and recommending them to anyone that is in need of an inspection. read more

We are moving into Rapid City and were recommended to utilize Foundations Home Inspection. It was the best advice I have ever had. Michelle and Chris arrived and inspected the home and an hour and a half later completed a walk-through with us. The information delivered was clear, concise and easily understood. The inspection was extremely through and the results insightful. Issues unique to the RC area were discussed with us and solutions recommended. The report provided was clear and very understandable. Many, many photos were included, and loaded onto a disc which was presented at the conclusion of the walk-through. The report also discussed in clear terms what repairs were indicated [thankfully very few and minor at that]. The report also offers maintenance tips and a list of businesses was included. The Verbeck's closely monitor the performance of those businesses they recommend to insure the customer is treated fairly and reputable work is done. As a former Naval Construction Force member and one familiar with quality control issues, I very highly recommend, to anyone buying a home or business in the Rapid City, the services of Foundations Home Inspection read more

"... like a user manual for our new home!" - Nicole Uhre-Balk Very professional, enthusiastic, and perhaps most importantly thorough. This was my first home purchase/inspection, but was my wife's second. She was shocked at how much attention to detail Foundations gave us, and I was very thankful. Perhaps the most amazing part to me was how quickly we received the report and how detailed it was - videos, pictures with highlighted areas describing points/issues/concerns, all within 24 hours. We're writing the review about a month+ late, but last night my wife brought up the inspection to a few of our friends, enthusiastically proclaiming, "Yeah, it's like a user manual to our house!" The inspection was worth every penny - we can refer to their concerns as our time/budget allows, pinpointing the most important ones and being able to relay their comments to the professionals. Fantastic experience, and I'm sure we'll enlist their help years down the road to so that we're always informed about issues related to our home. read more

My husband and I are in the process of purchasing our first home and had the good luck of finding Foundation's Home Inspection. Christopher and Michelle arrived an hour and a half before we did. When we arrived they were ready to go through the house room by room with us. They gave us their undivided attention and answered all of our questions in a way that was easy for us to understand. They were very thorough in explaining which items were cosmetic issues and which were issues to address right away. We did not feel rushed whatsoever, as the total time spent with us was one and a half hours. It was made clear that they truly care about their clients and they encouraged us to contract them with any questions in the future. At the end of the inspection they provided us with a disc of pictures taken during the inspection (over 200), as well as several informative sheets and booklets regarding products and tips for home improvement. I definitely recommend Foundation's Home Inspection. read more

If there were more stars, I would give them! Definitely a 5-star company, giving the most thorough review you can imagine. Foundations Home Inspection reports on the good, the bad and the neutral, all backed up with clear photos and descriptions, both of how things are, and of what needs to be done - together with some practical suggestions for those less knowledgeable!! Living at a distance made it impossible to do an actual walk-through with them, but Christopher took the time to talk through all the various points by phone. And no question is a dumb question! He patiently answered all points of concern. I recommend Christopher and Michelle with no hesitation. If you truly want to know what you may be getting into, this is the way to go. They have a very quick turnaround time, from when you first contact them, to their inspection, to their final report. As well as a heartfelt recommendation, I give them my heartfelt thanks. read more

This is the first time I have got as far as needing a home inspection. I chose Christopher and Michelle because of the 1 Cor. 3:11 reference on their website. From first contact through final contact I was impressed with their thoroughness, professionalism and friendliness. The particular home they inspected for me raised a couple of out-of-the-ordinary questions for Christopher; he went above and beyond in researching answers and providing the best possible input. The detail, pictures and summary in their report were very impressive. Because of the nature of some of the problems and repairs we requested of the sellers, we asked for a re-inspection. Again, a full and detailed report. I cannot speak highly enough of our experience, and will definitely use their services again. God bless you both, Christopher and Michelle! read more

We wanted the best possible company to inspect the home we are considering buying. This is probably the last home we will purchase and it was important that we went in with eyes wide open. Foundations Home Inspection could not possibly have done a more thorough job. They spent hours inspecting everything inside and outside, taking pictures and notes. They called us when they were finished and we were taken on a very detailed tour of each and every item they found, good and bad. At the end. we now have a book with photos and videos of everything we need to know about our new home. We also were supplied with a CD of photos. We highly recommend Foundations Home Inspection for anyone who is considering either buying or preparing a home for sale. It didn't hurt that they were quite enjoyable to be with as well! read more

Amazing and thorough job! They went through the house first and then walked me (step by step) over every detail of what they look for. They are very friendly and explained every thing in terms I could understand. They went above and beyond by providing me a 20+ page inspection report with color photos, a book on how to maintain my home, and a list of locally reliable people should I need anything. They also are available to answer any questions anytime after the inspection. They offer a military discount. We had never had such a thorough home inspection. It was very detailed and full of pictures. Michelle and Christopher went over it with us and spent a lot of time explaining their findings. They recommended products to use in our hot tub and whirlpool bath to keep them cleaner and running smoother. They told us about companies that they had thought would be good to work with. They told us to call them any time in the future with any questions we would have. We would HIGHLY recommend Foundations Home Inspection!!! They are tops in their field! read more

Absolutely the best inspection you can get. I am so amazed at all the little things that Foundations found in and around the house that we're buying in Summerset, SD. I am beyond impressed with their quality of service. Extremely friendly people, and as others have said, we got a ton of pictures and descriptions with how to fix the problems with the house. We are not in town yet, so having a great inspector who is willing to walk through the entire inspection on the phone is a plus! I would recommend them to anyone who needs an inspection. read more
