Orange Blossom Coffee: Polished Pop-Up with Signature Flavor…read more I discovered Orange Blossom Coffee at the Edwardsville Fall Makers Market and was thoroughly impressed. Despite being a mobile, events-only coffee shop (they've only been around since the summer of 2025!), their setup was incredibly polished and trendy. They clearly put a lot of thought into their presentation, making the mobile espresso bar feel just as professional as any brick-and-mortar shop. I ordered the Man in Black latte, one of their signature drinks--a combination of blackberry and vanilla. The description promised "timeless and classy," and it delivered. The espresso was smooth and pleasant, thankfully lacking the sour notes I often find at other local shops. The blackberry flavor was wonderfully forward but was beautifully rounded out by the creamy vanilla notes. It was an absolute delight to sip on this hot latte while enjoying the crisp fall air. The service was charming. While the speed was about what I expected with a line, the two women working the tent were incredibly welcoming and engaging. They happily shared parts of their business story as I gushed about their cute and professional setup, answering all my questions with a smile. Their genuine enthusiasm added a lovely personal touch to the experience. Their pricing is quite reasonable for a high-quality, specialty drink. Lattes are a standard price point at about $6 for, I believe, a 12-ounce size. If you're looking for value, their Americanos are only $3, and their lemonades are a steal at $2. Chai lattes clock in at $4. I highly recommend seeking them out at an event and giving them a try! I'm already wondering if their pop-up espresso bar would be a great fit for my organization's next event, or even a wedding or shower brunch. If you have them at your event, definitely send me a message--I'm eager to try the Salted Maple Latte off their fall seasonal menu! The ambiance was so cute too :) I LOVED my BBQ chicken. It was super flavorful. It paired well with the rice. I tried my partner's adobo chicken and it was good too. Much more on the umami side than the BBQ, which I would consider sweeter. The sausage was too spicy for me but it had a lot of great flavors.

The owners are very approachable and could immediately recognize us as Filipinos when we were sitting and eating there. The restaurant reminds me of a "fancier" Filipino style like you see in big tourist spots in Boracay. I do admit, the wait is a bit long as we were waiting for almost 30 minutes for our food to arrive. However, I feel like the complaints about it from other reviews are ridiculous since this place isn't considered fast food, but cooked with love. I mean- when I was living in The Philippines, everyone has patience of a saint, especially when it comes to food so I do not see the wait time as an issue. It's not served immediately like karinderya style. I ordered the Filipino-style chicken BBQ and I'd like to say that it's so delicious and flavorful. However, it doesn't remind me of home. I do want to point out to definitely ask for tuyo kalamansi with chili for the dip if you're not a fan of vinegar. I was told it was homemade by the owner and it did not disappoint. The pork BBQ that my father ordered was a bit too hard for his liking, as Filipino meat tends to be on the softer side. The ube banana pudding is also yummy, however, it is way too sweet for our liking. I'd like to point out that Java rice is so good that I think that it isn't enough for a Filipino like me and I personally don't want to pay for another cup of Java rice. There were more sides than rice tbh. I was also a bit bummed that halo-halo isn't in the menu at all, With that being said, I feel like the food and desserts here are mostly catering the American palette, but it would be good for people who has never tried Filipino food.

We lucked out and got two seats at the counter soon after we came in. The staff was hustling! Stews was busy, but felt comfortable and not crazy. The Menu had drinks on one side and food on the other. The patron next to me ordered a Mule and it looked really good so I ordered that and it tasted as good as it looked. I knew I had to get the Brussels Sprouts and they did not disappoint. It was a pretty good-sized order so I had some to take home for anther meal, yum! I also ordered Lo Mein and enjoyed that immensely, as well. We had somewhere else to be after eating so it was nice to get in and get seated, order drinks, order food all in a timely manner. It wasn't rushed at all, and everyone pitched in with serving and all of it. Well-orchestrated service. If you are trying to remember things that came before and you are thinking of the Wood Shack, you are correct! I thought it was but it had been a while so I asked and our server confirmed :). Pro Tip: GO ALONE! lol the tables for one open a lot faster than they do for larger parties. The entire inside holds about 35 people. When STL weather cooperates, the front patio doubles the size of the place. Do with that what you will. You have been warned so plan accordingly! NOW FOR THE FOOD! Order The Salmon! Order the brussel sprouts. I wasn't a fan of the T-Pockets as they are NOT traditional crab ragoon. Think, jalapeño poppers but with cream cheese and crab. ORDER A COCKTAIL! I've had their Manhattan and an "After Dark". If you are a bourbon person, you can't lose on either of those. Drinks range from $10-$14. THE STAFF: The space is tiny and is always packed, that alone is a recipe for disgruntled guests and employees BUT NOT HERE. The Stew's team is always friendly and cool under pressure. They have seating and serving down to a science. Kudos! AMBIANCE: Think intimate bar in Japan. Can't imagine that, then visit Stew's. Thank me later.

My research brought me here to Pappy's. I'm very glad it did. Ambiance starts with a line out the door, literally. You slowly shuffle down a long hallway full of Pappy's memorabilia. Then you make it to the ordering counter, order, and find a table. The dining room is huge, plenty of tables, with a full complement of sauces on each table. The service people at the counter were friendly, and so were the people delivering the food. The food came out quick and hot and delicious. We had baked beans and potato salad for sides, and they were pretty solid. Nothing show-stealing, but no complaints about them whatsoever. And of course, we got the ribs. Tender, juicy, a nice bite and chew, a decent bark, just a really wonderful rib. Better than any St. Louis style rib I've ever had back home in Florida. Other states, hard to say, the jury's out, but in that moment, I was eating a five-star rib. So good. We also got a 1/4 pound of the Burnt Ends. Usually, burnt ends are the king of meats, but I think we've entered the phase of America, where they're just another variety of meat and not necessarily upper echelon anymore. That being said, these were pretty ok. Should have gotten more ribs. Overall, Pappy's was pretty wow. Great local spot with a lot of pride and history, excellent ribs, I will definitely try to come back next time I'm in town.

It's not hard to see why The Food Network rated Pappy's as the "#1 rib joint in the country", as this place is next level bbq. You can smell the bbq from down the street and it will instantly make you hungry, even if you just ate... The place has the "cool bbq joint vibes", the employees are ultra-friendly, and it's fair/reasonable priced based on the quality of the food (runs between $40-50 for two people). Strongly recommend getting ribs, but their smoked chicken and turkey are outstanding as well. I didn't love their original bbq sauce (it was too thick and sweet with a heavy molasses flavor), but the hoodoo spicy sauce was out of this world. I would put Pappy's up against some of the other big named bbq joints in the country and they'd hold their own... Definitely worth the stop when in STL.
