YUM YUM YUM if you…read moreare living in Madrid or anywhere outside the United States and you miss your typical American Brunch or if you have never been to the United States and want to know what is the typical American Brunch you are all in luck! La Gringa was a delicious all American breakfast and brunch spot with the best in the City. Their eggs benedict are out of this world. Oh and when I was missing the typical breakfast potatoes or tater tots, I will go to this magnificent establishment to devour some. Not only that, after living in Madrid for over a year, I had forgotten what amazing customer service and friendly attendance at the table was. The service here is also excellent. I do recommend la gringa and will likely visit again when I come back to Madrid.

Sunday morning brunch, and the place was full by 1230. I got the American breakfast and my wife the huevos rancheros -- she got the better meal. American bfast came w/ a sausage I wasn't too fond of -- off taste for me. However, the bacon was crispy and the potato cakes nice and crunchy on the outside. The huevos were yummy, served w/ a healthy dollop of guacamole and black beans. Some good flavors there! Mimosas hit the spot, too! Lastly, excellent and friendly service. Cheers! RS

Came across this place on Yelp and saw it had good reviews so I wanted to check it out for myself. Just the sight of people's pictures of the burgers made me really hungry and it was practically the only thing on my mind all day. Decided to make it a night out, and reserved a table relatively late into the evening. Finding the place was more than alright. It's hardly hard to miss. In the middle of Spain something America styled sticks out like a saw thumb. As I don't speak much Spain, I was worried that communicating was going to be a little tough but turned out to be more than alright. There was a tone of options on the menu to choose from but had to stick with what I saw on the website which was Pulled Pork Burger, Chicken Stripes and Chips with bacon on. When the food came I was pretty overwhelmed if I'm honest. I got my money's worth. I thought I'd get three or four Chicken Stripes but turns out it was a basket. The burger was really big and chock full as well. It was really yummy and didn't even touch the sides. I couldn't manage it all so some of it had to be taken back in a bag which I'll eat at home. Overall, great service, great food, great music/atmosphere and a great night out. Well worth it!
Excellent, excellent cheeseburger and fries. Kid approved!…read more Jose, the owner, speaks very good English and paid meticulous attention to our order. The location was just down the street from our rented apartment and was a welcome change to the tapas crawl. Everyone was tired and worn out so we got the order to go. Not any problem. I'd definitely eat here again. Thanks Jose!

I was exhausted and hot from walking all day and needed a cool refreshment. Darn you, Tommy Mel's, and that big sign outside your door advertising your milkshakes. We sat right near the front of the restaurant near the ice cream counter, as we were just going to split a shake and leave. If you are wanting any service at all, do NOT sit there. We were largely ignored, and it was difficult to get the attention of any of the servers. As for their advertised "Freakshake", it was a LOT smaller than expected, and totally not worth the calories, or the 9 euros.

We had hands down the best burgers of our lives! I had the Top cheese burger and my friend had the Doris BBQ chicken and both were delicious! 10/10 would recommend! Prices for the burgers were both around €10 but it was worth it. The staff were amazing and very welcoming and helpful. As soon as we walked in a waiter seated us to a booth, left us to choose our order and came straight back just in time. Their english was also great so the communication was without a flaw. After that we ordered a huge caramel milkshake for about €9. The only downhill was that we waited for it for quite some time. But its deliciousnes made up for it. Again, overall 10/10 would recommend trying the place and I for sure will come back someday!

Like most people I choose where to go depending on mood but when I fancy a change from the traditional Spanish tapas then TGI can't be beaten. They have menu's in English and Spanish and a great range of food. I must have been here 30-40 times in the last 12 months and never once had a bad meal. The prices represent good value and the beer is the cheapest around. €1.50 a pint/half litre after the first (which is a reasonable €3.95) I have brought groups here, friends, family and everyone has gone away happy. Customer service in Madrid still has some way to catch up with the UK or USA and usually the staff seem miserable or surly at best but there is real camerarderie between the people that work here and everyone seems really happy to help. My time in Madrid is near and my only regret will be the diet I'll have to go on when I get back to the UK, I'll certainly miss this place.
