After that if you aren't already late. There is another check in on the 6th floor where the actual office is where they then waste you're time filling out intake form just to call you up and inform you that you are late and they won't be able to take you in. Ridiculous place do not recommend going here.

Here we are in January, yes, January 2025, and I still have not been able to get the referral person to return my call to make an appointment. Apparently they have one, and only one person who ALL new patients must go through. First this lady canceled my referral because she thought I didn't want to be seen. She canceled my referral because she left a VM, gave me 2 days to respond (she called me on a Thursday afternoon) and canceled my referral on Monday. I have called back, had to start referral ALL OVER AGAIN. I would call, ask if she got my referral, leaving a message and never hearing back. I have called, asked others to leave a message for Monica to PLEASE CALL ME BACK, but she never does. Is there really only ONE PERSON WHO SCHEDULES?! How embarrassing for VMMC Orthopedic Clinic- they apparently can only afford to hire one scheduler, or hired one really unorganized one.

As a person who loves bouldering, it sucks to have a wrist injury, preventing you to climb. I read…read morea lot of good things about MoveMend Rehab and I wanted to check them out to see if they can give me information on my injury. They have a free 30-minute consultation to assess your situation which I think is a great feature of their service. I had the pleasure of working with Sam who's very experienced working with other climbers. Sam was very knowledgeable, professional, helpful, and attentive. I discovered more about my wrist injury, and even about the anatomy of my wrists. Because of this, I'm able to be more self-aware when I climb in the future to decrease the chances of me getting injured. Thankfully I found out that I only had TFCC irritation. The facility is a moderate size and they have plenty of rehab equipment for their patients. It's nice and organized as well. The parking outside isn't the best. Some tight parking and can be limited. Overall, I am very pleased with what MoveMend has to offer, and if I'm ever injured from climbing again, I'd come back here for evaluation.

My husband and I really wanted to like this place, and I know that we would have if it weren't for…read morethe poor communication regarding our son's care.  He had four initial sessions where we received no communication from the therapist about the visit (he went in alone b/c of COVID) and then finally had a tele-consult that left us feeling somewhat confused about what the treatment plan was and whether or not this would even help him (he struggles with ADHD and is sensory seeking). The therapist said she could help him however, so we continued to bring him and continued to feel a bit unsure, especially without any post-visit communication or specific homework for us to work on at home with him. I finally sent our therapist an email asking about the plan and requesting to know what is worked on each day so we can enforce that work at home.  There was no reply after 15 days so I sent another email to request a reply and finally after 25 days I got a response of only an attachment with a basic treatment plan protocol page, but no written message or apology for the reply taking so long.  I requested to go in to watch the next session, which she did approve.  After seeing what she was working on with him, it was apparent that only a small portion of his therapy was focused on what we had expressed that he needed help with in everyday life.  So, I sent another email asking if she could put more time focusing on the specific activities that would help him with what he struggles with at home and at school.  All I really needed was a "yes, we can do this" or "no we can't and here's why..." response but I got a message that she wanted to skip his next appointment to do a tele-consult to discuss this.  He had already had several visits that had to be skipped or cancelled on the therapist's end, so it was frustrating that she couldn't reply to a simple email.  My husband and I were extremely disappointed with the communication at this point, so I wrote a direct, yet very considerate, email saying that it felt as if we were being brushed off even though we were trying to advocate for our son.  After this she let us know that she needed to cancel the next visit and gave absolutely no acknowledgment of what I had written in my heartfelt message to her. It sadly just reinforced the feeling that she just didn't care.  My husband and I decided to take our son completely out of the therapy because of this. It's extremely rare for me to give negative yelp reviews, so I wasn't excited about doing this, but communication goes a long, long way especially in a profession where someone is working with children. I feel that other clients should be aware that this may be a challenge and I recommend that if you take your child here ask questions early and often and making sure it's the right place for him or her. Our therapist seemed to be a nice woman in person, so I was very surprised and disappointed that things turned out as they did.

The doctors, nurses, and support staff went above and beyond to ensure that my son received the best possible treatment. The facility is clean, well-organized, and equipped with everything needed for long-term acute care. The medical staff is highly knowledgeable and attentive, always taking the time to explain treatment plans and answer any questions. They truly prioritize patient well-being and recovery, making what could be a stressful experience much more manageable. Beyond the outstanding medical care, the kindness and empathy shown by everyone at Kindred Hospital made all the difference. They treat patients with dignity and respect while also providing emotional support to families. I am incredibly grateful for the exceptional care my son is receiving and highly recommend Kindred Hospital - First Hill to anyone in need of specialized long-term acute care. Thank you so much. Dorothy Capers PS, I did read all the negative reviews. It struck me that the majority of complaints were based on languages and the race of staff. This is unfortunate because these are the people with the compassion and heart to care for our loved ones. I only saw a few people of non-color doing this work. So, my suggestion is to visit the facility before you make your decision. This is hard work, and we should support the hospital and staff as much as we can. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Staff shortage is a real thing.
