The manager was very nice: quoted me up front for a 4-wheel alignment and held to his word. He had a pre-post alignment report and explained it to me. He and his team were fast and efficient. $92 out the door, which I'm told was incredibly reasonable. I asked him about additional repairs and he said he would gladly do all repairs on my car. Also quoted me a really great price to do a full-synthetic oil change, so I'll be back for that. I think I've found my new mechanic! I had an amazing experience with Foster Tire! I got a flat on the 405 freeway about two exits from home. Long story short, I ended up at Foster Tire and I am so glad I did. They were going replace my tire but ended up being able to repair it for 20 bucks less than a replacement! I wish, I got their names, but thank you very much for the help and fast service. For tires, this store really knows their products. Due to COVID, I decided to call to discuss my needs rather than visit their facility. Julio was very helpful by first asking about our car and driving habits. He then went on to recommend a few different tires brands and features of each tire and price. Once I decided on a tire, Julio put together a price that included installation and adjusting the cars alignment. I scheduled a day and time for installation and was very pleased to learn that they also sterilized the interior of my car prior to pickup. Went there to get wheel alignment just because my 2006 truck has 54000 miles, nothing wrong with it. After the alignment my steering wheel pulls on the right so I went back after 2 weeks and Julio told me it might be my suspension. I told him the car was fine and drives straight before I got the alignment, so he went and test drove the car and he said it's pulling bad on the right and he's giving me a lot of excuses. I told him to reallign the wheels. When they put the machine then it showed the right wheel was out of alignment. The first time I went there the tech. adjusted the front right wheel when it showed that in the result that it was fine before he adjusted it. Well I can't remember a time I didn't need tires for any car I've ever owned. (That goes for brakes as well). Lucky me I married a man whose a jack of all trades, however he's not really a mechanic, but has the basic knowledge of accessing the needs of a vehicle - as most men have the natural instincts that most of us woman don't have. In saying that, it was that time again to replace yet another tire and we never have the budget to replace all 4 of them new. I went to my trusty ole Yelp app to find us a place - a decent/honest used tire place, since we're no longer in the vicinity of East Los or Whittier for that matter, I was crossing my fingers we'd find one & him be satisfied with it. Well I did see others that were cheaper (and there's always an underlying reason as to why...."Hello, didn't I just replace a tire a couple months ago?" (yes, used) - you pay nada, you get nada. So I read the reviews on here and showed my husband, & they were nearby we live, he went for it. Rolled up on a busy Saturday, only to be in for a surprise, we didn't have to wait, they quoted us right away, our guy that helped was Sam (& Gus who took off the tires), and Sam suggested we should just get all four, (honestly, looking at all four, you could tell they were all crappy used tires & that they'd eventually all flatten out)., so he quoted us a good price and we went for it. The whole time we were there, it made us feel like we were getting the royal treatment (this for used tires too, which by the way looked close to new), and the 15 year old jalopy we were driving in (granted it's a Toyo Camry-you give them TLC, they give you life long loyalty). While we stood waiting, decided to pay and got rang up fast by nice friendly gentlemen, (darn, I didn't get his name, he didn't have a name tag, but he was friendly helpful gentlemen). Saw the waiting area which was decent, considering most waiting areas at any automotive place are usually dark, stuffy, dirty and unpleasant because everyone's waiting around staring at each other miserable. Didn't have that here, because they were right on it w/everyone's needs. Looks like will be bringing back our van here too! Saw Air Conditioning somewhere, we will have to ask about that, since the vans A/C doesn't work and it's excruciating driving it anytime it's past 70 degrees. Well we drove out happy, car felt smooth, since I wouldn't know what it's like to drive smooth or for that matter in a new car in over God knows how many years, but I guess it doesn't take much to make us happy, and that's exactly how we felt knowing they took care of us, didn't rip us off, and got us back out & about in no time. read more

This is an enthusiastic 5-star review for Julio and his team at Foster Tires. But, there's a back story which makes the efforts of Julio and his team even more heroic and appreciated.... The brakes on my 2012 Ford Edge went out (with the peddle going all the way to the floor) in mid-March 2022. I took it to the dealer where I bought the vehicle expecting the usual quality but overpriced service. I was told that, along with the master cylinder, my ABS brakes also needed to be replaced at a cost of approximately $3,500 for parts and labor but that, although the master cylinder was in stock and relatively inexpensive, the ABS brakes with adaptive cruise were not. Initially, I was told Ford wouldn't have the part in stock due to supply chain issues until mid-April. Despite trying to purchase one of the few parts available at other dealers nationwide (even above market), none of those 7 dealers was willing to sell what they had in stock. Nonetheless, I was reassured I had a good chance of getting the part soon after new parts were manufactured because I was one of the earliest on the list and my need was listed as urgent. However, the ETA for the ABS brake unit thereafter turned into early May, early June, early July, early August, late September, and late November. Month after month, I was told a certain number of units (sometimes as high as 100) would be shipped out by Ford to dealers around the country and I was well-positioned to get the part and soon be on my way. Although we were down to one car in our family, because my wife and I had the good fortune of being able to work from home, we managed for 9 months with only one car. In late-October, my wife was laid off from her job, which was going to necessitate turning in her company car... our only car at the time. When I called the dealer, he informed me that now, there was no longer even an ETA date for the ABS part listed in Ford's database, meaning it was now even less clear when I'd ever get the part I was told repeatedly by my dealer that I needed. I began searching online for a refurbished ABS module with adaptive cruise in the hopes of taking my Edge to an outside brake shop and getting back on the road. Once again, there were only a handful of the particular refurbished ABS parts nationwide but I finally found one. With the part finally in hand, I called numerous brake shops in the area to ask if they could install the ABS unit. One shop after another said they couldn't do it, primarily because they didn't have the right equipment to properly program the highly sophisticated brake unit. Then there was Julio from Foster Tires. The first thing Julio said to me was that the problem I was describing with my brakes didn't sound like it had anything to do with my ABS brakes and, instead, I almost certainly just needed to replace the master cylinder ... at a price that was a tiny fraction of the cost the dealer had quoted me in March 2022. He said he was pretty confident what the dealer had repeatedly told me was just plain wrong. So, I picked up my car from the dealership in mid-November and dropped it off at Foster Tires just before Thanksgiving. Julio again assured me the problem with my brakes had nothing to do with the ABS unit. I then showed Julio the paperwork from the dealer when it discharged my vehicle. To my amazement, the paperwork didn't actually even say the ABS unit on my vehicle NEEDED to be replaced. Instead, it simply noted that, when the dealer ran a diagnostic test on the vehicle, the codes identified by its proprietary system identified the master cylinder and the ABS unit as POSSIBLE CAUSES for the brake issue I was having. I was furious. Nobody from the dealership ever told me the ABS brakes might not actually have anything to do with my issue and that one option would be to simply try to replace the master cylinder and see if that fixed the problem. Cutting to the chase: Julio and his team worked on the car for a few days and, indeed, it took a bit longer then expected because they had to bleed the brakes lines a number of times so the pressure held in the brake pedal across all 4 tires. But Julio and his team were determined to prove to the brakes could indeed be fixed and that the ABS unit had nothing to do with the problem. Because Julio's detailed explanation as to actual problem with my brakes made sense and he was resolute and confident in his assessment, I remained optimistic that he would ultimately get the job done. And a day or two later he did. I picked up my Edge after 9 months and one week and the brakes work perfectly. It's been nearly a month and I've had no issues. The total repair for parts and labor, including a new master cylinder, cost me $520!! So, with this sad or tortured saga finally having a happy ending, I would just like to say thank you and convey my sincerest gratitude to Julio and all his guys at Foster Tires for getting me back on the road!!! They are awesome. They really helped me out. I drive to the snow occasionally so good cross climate tires are important to me. Julio set me up with some good tires for a deal that was more competitive than Costco and the quality was better than the deal at Costco. He also checked my rear tires and told me that I needed new brake pads. I am so glad I got the brakes done. The cost was super reasonable and I am really glad I got everything done there. Last week I came here to have my tire patched after a piece of debris became lodged in it. I brought my car in, they jacked it up, and then informed me they weren't comfortable patching my tire since all my treads were ball (How does that happen? Read my Southbay BMW review). So the worker there, Julio, told me I would need to get a new set of tires, and offered suggestions as we looked through tirerack.com. He showed me the size and speed ratings I would want, and also the run flat and regular options. He even went as far as to calculating out how much it would cost going through tire rack verses buying the tires through them. No pressure involved. That night I went back on tire rack and ordered the tires I wanted and had them shipped to Foster. Foster called me two days later to let me know my set of tires had arrived. The following day I came in. No appointment was necessary - just a call ahead to see if they were busy. I came in on my lunch, and they replaced my tires in about 40 minutes. Not bad.
