I've used Trophies By Jay before, but this experience was so bad it permanently ended any future business. I dropped off two fantasy championship trophies for plaque engraving, which should be one of the simplest, most routine jobs imaginable. After an entire week of complete silence, I called for an update and was told, word for word, "Fantasy trophies are not the priority right now. I'll get to them when I can." No timeline. No apology. Just blatant dismissal. I gave it more time and called again four business days later, only to receive the exact same response. When I pressed for an ETA, I was told there was none and that he maybe could get to it by the end of the following week--nearly three weeks after drop-off for basic engraving. At that point, it was clear my order was never going to be treated with even minimal importance. Rather than taking responsibility or communicating like a professional, the owner became openly hostile and combative on the phone, telling me to come pick up the trophies so he "didn't have to deal with" me asking for updates. When I arrived to retrieve them and calmly stated I would be leaving a review, he had a full meltdown--stormed into the back room, started yelling, and ordered me out of the store like a child throwing a tantrum. Yes, the physical work is passable--but that is completely overshadowed by the astonishing level of arrogance, disrespect, and contempt shown toward paying customers. The owner clearly does not value people's time, does not understand customer service, and should not be running a business that requires any interaction with the public. If you value professionalism, communication, or even basic human decency, take your business anywhere else. This was hands down one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had, and I will never return. I strongly recommend others avoid this place entirely.

A woman approached me from behind the counter with an extremely off putting attitude before I spoke a single word asking what I needed. As I am explaining what I was looking to get done and pulled out my phone to show her a picture reference, the woman snatched the phone out of my hand before I was even done with my sentence and goes to a back room with my personal cell phone. After consulting with someone for about 2 minutes she comes back out to me and says there's nothing we can do. With no explanation as to why they could not engrave the piece I asked the woman for an explanation. Her response was they do not have the capability to do a flower stencil. Then added she did not know what material the piece I wanted engraved was (that was clearly metal).. I asked if they had any alternative options, which I was aware they did as I had been to the local before and had a piece done and added to a box. She asked me where my friend was planning to put the piece, I said anywhere she decides, to which she replied we can't do anything because if she puts the piece outside it would ruin, as if I couldn't just explain to my friend she can't put it outside. Additionally to that she never even asked if I wanted the flower she stated they couldn't do based off the reference picture or if I would be okay with just the script and dates. She also never asked what material the piece was like I couldn't just look that up to verify it was metal from the website I purchased it from. This woman clearly did not was to service me for whatever reason that may have been... from the start and did not hide it. My previous experience there was with a younger gentleman who was great, but based off this experience I will never return! Knowing this I politely told the woman to have a great day anyway and left. I immediately looked up other engraving services and found Engrave Your Gift in New Britain, CT. The gentleman serviced me right away and the piece came out absolutely perfect! With flowers and all.. I would recommend them over Discount Trophy a thousand times over. My friend absolutely loved her gift and was extremely emotional because of the meaning and how beautiful it turned out.
