Kristyn is a mama and was clearly familiar with all of these exchanges. What was profound was how she saw and documented these little, everyday moments for us. There have been so many times when I've been doing something routine like reading my daughter a book or changing a diaper or feeding her a snack when I've wished someone could snap a photo, because that's what I want to remember and what I want my daughter to see later. These tiny moments are big in their own way- they are a few of the ways we show our love for our daughter day after day. Kristyn saw us in all of our beautiful, chaotic, messy, loving, happy glory, and it means the world to me that my daughter can look at these photos later and see that despite all the messiness and imperfection in our lives, our love for her is so complete and perfect. Of course, I had aspired to get my hair blown out and have our home looking great, but I'm so glad I didn't wait any longer to have photos taken at home, and there is something sweet about the moments of messiness that are there in the photos. Kristyn saw us for who we are and gave us the gift of documenting us, just as we are right now, in the most beautiful way. I've never felt more seen before, and I couldn't be more grateful.
