Doesn't preach on eschatology, but he has a sincere, but direct approach to teaching, which I need. I like hearing the truth point blank, no beating around the bush and he has a way of telling you like it is but smiling at you the whole time with open arms. And he's super funny how he integrates his family into the stories. The children's program is huge and very organized with people who really want to be there. Love how they make it fun at all ages. They do really cool activities with the middle and high schoolers, too! Like nerf gun fights , ice cream socials and slip and slides and paint wars. They have a lot of people around for support and to ask questions about where to go for what grade/age. I really like how they implement safety in every aspect of the church from the parking lot to access for disabled folks. So many bible classes to chose from which was refreshing since we can't all fit in a square box. I felt so welcomed there since day one and haven't regretted coming back. Coffee is good too! That's important!! The bathrooms are clean and they had a renovation which added on a new and expanded sanctuary giving the middle and high school students a lace of their own to have worship service. Didn't know they were Baptist (usually stated in the name), but I've come to embrace the big church, small hometown feel. I really like how leadership makes themselves available to you and just because they are a larger church, doesn't mean they are unapproachable or unreachable. That really made a difference for me.

We've had great opportunities to see our daughter perform in plays and get all the pictures you keep forever. We enjoy little events like the Thanksgiving Feast when the parents come in and eat with the students. It's also a great opportunity to meet the other parents and talk with the teachers and staff. The school is very secure and I would recommend it highly to any parents looking for a great preschool for their children!

They have everything set up in the lobby to check-in your children to child care, clean bathrooms, coffee and breakfast items. Then the service meets in a large conference room. They have awesome worship teams that lead the music and the pastors are fantastic! We love attending both locations. Such an awesome church! This service meets at 10:30am. Hope to see you there!

I must admit I have never worshiped at this church. However, as of 2016, this makes the 4th time…read morethat my daughter has attended their annual Christmas Shoppe. It's a wonderful experience and I would recommend this event to anyone that has a child between the ages of 4 and 12 (I believe this is the max in age). At this event, your child has his or her own personal shopper to help navigate through all the gifts in the room. This is because no parents are allowed in the Shoppe. OMG the suspense!! But my daughter absolutely loves it! This shop features awesome quality gifts that are inexpensive. Before your child goes into shop, they are given a list with potential recipients and of course they can edit it based on their Christmas list. But this list helps guide the children in making their gift selections and sticking to a plan. I usually give my daughter $30 and she comes out with at least 10 gifts. Oh and on Saturday, they have free gift wrapping. However, if you go on Sunday, the gifts will not be wrapped for you. I overheard one of the members of the church mention money raised during the shop, they use the money to buy the gifts for the following year. And I believe this shop has been in existence for at least 20 years, maybe longer. This event normally takes place the second weekend in December, during the Old Towne Holiday Festival...always a great time for family fun. If you do plan to attend, get there early because if the shop opens at 9 o'clock people are already standing in line waiting to have their child shop. Tickets are distributed as early as 8:30 am and on Saturday the line quickly builds for this in high demand event. I plan to visit the church to worship one day. The spirit I feel when I attend this event in particular is so heartfelt. I highly recommend you take your son or daughter or any young person. This will be so worth it. Hassle free shopping for the adult and the child. A win win! It's a great day to have a great day :)

Trinity Church is a beautiful place to walk around with old graves and stone walkways (the church…read morewas established in 1752). Unfortunately, the church itself is often closed so it is hard to see the inside. I caught a quick glimpse before the Portsmouth ghost tour and I wish they had more regular viewing hours. There are some really old graves here -revolutionary war dead and the Commodore James Barron who fought against the Royal Navy. During the last weekend in October every year, the church has a yard sale of books, random items, and baked goods to raise money for the church programs. The people we talked to were quite nice and even gave us the tip that we could ask the custodial assistant to open up the church to us when he arrived. Sadly we couldn't stick around, but next time I will find a way to see inside!
