The bulk of the body is 20 and 30 somethings, but there is a solid group of 'grey hairs' there to impart wisdom and mentor those of us who desperately need it. Redemption teaches mostly expositionally. During the summers they typically pick an overarching topic to preach through. The members are friendly and inviting and they have community groups in multiple cities in the area that allow for deeper relationships and great friendships to develop. My boyfriend's, mother lives in Chesapeake and we live on the opposite ends of town so... C.C location was perfectly located in the middle. C.C is non-denominational but still has traditional values. I would describe the church as casual and friendly. Services are held @ 9 and 11am on Sundays. I actually attended last Sunday and found that the message really hit close to home. We've attended CHR since their opening 7 years ago. Very quickly this place became our extended…read morefamily. We've made so many friends, some still here, some have moved because of their military careers, but even the ones that have left we still keep in touch with. We are a small church with BIG plans, BIG ideas, focused on community, outreach & connection. Our connect groups are really where we grow the most. They run about every 8wks, with a shorter summer session. Leader's, as well as the studies, change each session. Some groups are for All, some for Women only or Men only, or specifically for the youth. Because of Covid, like so many others, we became very good at Zoom and are continuing to offer some Connect Groups via Zoom. CHR is very active in the community and has an outreach group in a Chesapeake neighborhood where we volunteer each week. We help with homework, play games, have a summer camp and Thanksgiving & Christmas we always do something special for the families. It has been a dedicated 7 yrs of working within this community with an on going commitment that will continue until. If you're looking for an authentic, bible teaching place to grow in your faith, then give CHR a try. It's a friendly place with a welcoming atmosphere. We've got some great pastors, each of them with their own unique way of sharing God's Word. I'm always amazed at how God speaks to you through others and that is exactly the kind of thing that happens in this church!

It makes you aware of something hidden or not fully understood about another person's feelings, intentions or nature. It is allowing the person to look deep into the Holy Spirit. This deeper connection enlightened eyes to describe a deeper understanding of spiritual truth inside our heart. There is a balance of His Love alongside His truth and discipline. The worship is lively, children and adults alike are welcome down front to dance, twirl, jump, whatever the Spirit leads you to do. The leaders are sensitive to others and guide and teach what is happening during the service, which helps to allay any fears. Pastor Adam's sense of humor is guaranteed to cause some laughter while at the same time, the depth of the teaching leaves you feeling full and whole. Community book boxes are shared spaces meant for age-appropriate books, not promotional materials. Families of many different backgrounds and beliefs use that space. I hope the church will be mindful about where outreach materials are distributed and respect posted guidelines in community areas designed for children
