I got a mattress for $299, a wooden bed frame for $199, and had it delivered to my apartment for $60 or thereabouts. *dusts hands*. Spare room, sorted.

Not only that, but they are usually not only uncomfortable beds, but uncomfortable sofas as well. There are no winners. Exploring the science of the decent sofabed, we decided you get what you pay for. Despite their perils, we really needed one to suit visitors, given the layout of our house, so we sought out a specialist. I still wouldn't say we have a bed fit for a king, but having paid extra for the 'best' mattress option, and for extra firm cushioning on the couch, we so far have something that works. Well, that works for most visitors anyway - there are some you'll never please (is this karma for my own aversion?)

We purchased a sofa bed recently from Sofa Studio with additional fabric…read moreprotection etc. Must admit the service to begin with was great however went downhill once the order was placed. We were meant to receive a fabric sample prior to giving the go-ahead as we were concerned that the colour had to be the same as the sofa on display. The sample was never sent despite chasing it up a few times (the delivery date also changed after the order was placed). We were then told the sofa was already made and assured the colour was exactly the same as the floor model and we should just arrange delivery. The sofa arrived and it was significantly different to what we ordered, can only assume they thought we were too silly to notice the vastly different colour. They also managed to gouge the door frame during deliver then decided to remove the feet from the sofa so it would fit. Took a cushion from the new sofa to the store and spoke with the manager who agreed it wasn't even close to the correct colour. They suggested refunding us the two scatter cushions we purchased from them as compensation, . We just wanted the sofa in the colour we ordered, apparently this wasn't possible however to their credit they said they could remake it although we would need to choose a different type of fabric (still not in the right colour). Spoke with the manager as the other fabric options were not what we were after. We were so fed up and we didn't want to end up with further damage to our house during another pick up and delivery that we reluctantly decided to just keep the sofa. The manager told us that as they were not needing to remake the sofa they would arrange a credit for compensation When the credit was processed it ended up being considerably less than the original suggestion of the price of the scatter cushions. Living with a sofa is not the right colour and not particularly comfortable so definitely not great value. The most annoying part is that we felt like we were treated as idiots. Would not recommend.
