Played in a charity tournament and had a great time. The course is in decent shape, it can be better. The fairways and rough are good, with the exception of some areas that are bare. Went in for lunch. Mayson was our server and she was very nice and attentive. Her nails were beautiful! Had her show my wife lol Restaurant was quiet and cold but got busier as the golfers came in. This review is for the golf course in Tuscon, AZ. My wife and I hooked up with a local who plays frequently at the Forty Niner GC. When we arrived, a worker came up to our car and dropped off a cart. That was nice. We were not expecting that. The course had challenges on a variety of holes. The fairways were hard and some had bare spots. We enjoyed the round. Pace of play was average time. Greens were good. Cost was typical for Tucson golf on the $70 range. The area was beautiful with the mountains in the landscape. Nice pro shop. All staff were friendly. read more

I don't live in the neighborhood, but I do love this area. I like going to their bingo on Thursday nights. The games are always fun with a lively crowd. The servers and bartenders are so sweet! My only complaint, is if the people who do live in the area go super early to save seats. So when we've shown up, sometimes it's hard to find a seat and then the game starts, and there's empty seats because whoever saved them didn't show up or they saved too many seats. The food is really good! I have ordered food from the table playing bingo, but then also we have gone into the restaurant and ordered food to eat at the bingo table. Sooooo juicy and delicious. I ate this sandwich so fast cause it was that good. Fries are fresh. Short rib was tender and mixed well with mushroom, roasted peppers, onions and mozzarella cheese. While the greens were in pretty good shape, the fairways need some TLC and most of the tee boxes need a lot of TLC. On the positive side - in addition to the mostly decent greens - the ball wash and water stations were well maintained, staff members we interacted with were friendly, there were some nice views of the nearby Rincon Mountains, and the $34 greens fee is reasonable. The overall experience would be greatly enhanced with better maintained surfaces. read more

I love this place. The course is typically in pretty good condition, and if you go, you will find that it is kinda fun to play. I personally have only 3-more holes to get the, "Full house 18" for 49ers. Meaning I have got a par or better on almost all their holes--only 3 to go to fill my "dance card". The green fees here are enticing (probably the best bang for your buck in Tucson). The staff is always super friendly and makes me feel appreciated and welcomed. The holes are challenging (but not ridiculous). My only gripe is that the trees that line the fairways (mostly oaks and mesquites) drop a ton of leaves, and because of this, it sometimes it can be hard to find my ball--even when it's on the fairway. The trade off is that those trees drop the temps, control wind, and make it look pretty there, but they do keep the maintenance crew busy and can camouflage well-hit balls. If you are looking for a pleasant day of golf... this place is it. read more

49er country club offered a farmers market quote from their ad"The Happy Hive is hosting a farmers market featuring local produce, baked goods and coffee alongside a lineup of more than two dozen vendors selling handmade earrings, paintings and more." There was zero fresh produce not they shouldn't even call it a farmers market. It's a complete scam. They had a few boosts with oils and lotions, the typical knickknacks from China. One cookie shop. We had a 28 mile round-trip through weekend traffic The lot is smashed with people and their self imported people so they drive in the middle of the road of the parking lot and even one idiot pulled in front of me and did a left turn because he didn't wanna wait when I had the right away. The golf courses were parked blocking , the driveway and a bunch of people were just chatting their ass off inside the parking lot with all the golf courses parked in the middle of the roadway drinking There were so few shops that it was complete nut joke I came to the conclusion awfully fast that it was a scam just to get us out there to see the country club and maybe get a club license to golf I wasn't there to golf. I wasn't there to go to their athletics club. I wasn't there to drink coffee and eat cookies Basically, I had my weekend stolen and my fuel stolen by this club of scam artist I might actually file a complaint with the attorney generals office for false advertisement read more

We came here for their 4th of July, Red, White, and Boom, fireworks celebration. They were selling tickets at $30 per person which was for an entry fee, free food pizza, burgers, and hot dogs and one free drink at the bar. However you didn't need to pay to get in, food was okay, and with only one bartender on staff the lines for drinks was around the corner. Fireworks display was amazing though we had a wonderful time!! read more

The fitness club and beautiful pool are what I joined for, but now appreciate the restaurant, music and community activities they have as well. I don't want to tell how much I love the fitness facility and the classes because I don't want anyone else to join. --so often if I go mid-day, it is nearly empty, but since the new fitness director, Alyse came, it is getting more crowded, but that is a good thing. Actually, I don't go mid-day anymore because the morning Cardio, Barre & HIIT classes are so good with Alyse. She always keeps us aware of proper, safe position, the small muscles that need to be engaged; and, because she writes the workouts versus having a canned program, she responds to the participants' needs. I so appreciate the free tips, workout ideas and generously shared body awareness insight, that I signed up for personal training and am grateful. She has helped me with knee & back problems that expensive Physical Therapists never got close to diagnosing or fixing. She is hawkeye observant and has a solution catalog and exercise repertoire in her head to readily address specific issues. She is excited about her ongoing professional development and keeps her learning fresh. She has made significant changes in the way many of us, especially the 50 and above group approach workouts, body awareness, nutrition and taking care of ourselves so our bodies last. Emily is another trainer and class coach there. She is an Ironman athlete and really knows her stuff as well. Marcel too is a great guy and trains his clients there jovially. My work with Alyse has transferred to my other sports, --cycling and swimming, to great effect. I feel so much better! If you like Les Mills BodyPump, they also have that with super-fun Stacy, who makes everyone feel good, entertained, and well-liked. Good vibes all 'round. I also love that I get to enjoy the great view, the rascally noisy grackles, friendly vermilion flycatchers and tolerable doves in the willow trees & grass from the nice big windows while I work out! Friendly staff that was very helpful and attentive (special thanks to great service by Robin and the entire crew) and the cream brûlée was delicious (as well as the Cobb salad). Play golf with a couple friends in mind On a Saturday. It was a nice day, Went to the restaurant to relax and have a meal before heading home And set on the patio area in front of the restaurant. Bad mistake while we were sitting there a couple of my friends got hit by spiders there were spider webs everywhere on this patio. Don't they have pest control hopefully spiders weren't black widows. Two out of the four of us were bite. We will never go back there again. read more

Alyse Hergenrother the fitness director is clueless about her surroundings while she is training someone and how loud she actually is. Me and my family started dreading going to workout with the thought she would be there. Her classes she directs are disruptive to others working out since there are kids coming in and out of the room or during her training sessions her voice is louder than a podcast from my headphones. read more

Played an early round of Golf w? my friends a couple of weeks ago, the course is in very good shape, but after the round we sat in the restaurant for drinks and sandwiches, and while eating our food a couple small roaches crawled from under our plates and on to the table...we will never eat there or play there again. Everything about the Forty Niner Club is amazing. The Golf is a great deal and the scenery is incredibly picturesque. Check out the restaurant for breakfast before you tee off or lunch after. Worst starter I've ever seen! My experience was I asked the starter where I was in line... I was third up but I didn't figure this out because of his help...After he basically dismissed me and my question I turned to another group parked near the first tee and asked when their tee time was. They replied and I confirmed I was teeing off just after them... right as I asked he spun around and snapped at me to " let me do my job". As if me talking to another group was not allowed and I should just sit there like a good boy and wait for him to communicate to me. I told him that he doesn't get to tell me who I get to talk to you no I don't and then he stopped off. He never came back. What is it that busy, no. Was he overwhelmed, he shouldn't have been. After the round I went into the clubhouse and thank them and told them the golf course was in nice shape but I did mention my interaction with the starter. They did not seem that surprised or that concerned. They just told me that he had a rough day. This particular starter is not an elderly gentleman so I don't give him a pass. Because of that I cannot imagine myself coming back across town to that golf course. What a shame read more

Fun course to play, was disappointed employees in the pro shop we're not wearing the required mask coverings. Would prefer if they operated like Fred Enke is right now where you don't have to go inside. You pay online the just walk up to the starter. I use GolfNow and get teetimes at the 49er country club on a regular basis. The staff always seems friendly. I really only have two problems with the staff and that is the starting Marshall never seems to be around and out of a handful of times that I have played in the last two weeks, I only ever saw a cart girl one time. The course is in great condition from the tee boxes to the fairways and all the way to the greens. If you get stuck behind some of the older gentleman that play here you can expect at least a five hour round of golf, they don't ever offer to let me play through. They really should have a Marshall rolling around and checking the pace of play. It's a nicer course and I'm sure they could afford to pay someone to do that. The food from the grill is always good. You get a little voucher for some money off a meal as well as like a $1 beer. I would highly recommend having a drink and getting a meal once your round is complete. read more

This is a beautiful course the staff is friendly but they could use a starter. Didn't see a starter and was confused at first. It's a good challenging course and it has the right amount of trees and traps. The views are spectacular and the course is clean. The restaurant has a good selection and staff also friendly. I would have given it 5 Stars if I saw a starter. My suggestion would be to announce the name of the next group and the one on deck. Otherwise go play at 49ers you'll have a great time and bring your friends. read more

Wow, this restaurant has gone downhill. We went for Friday night fish fry. We had to wait forever to receive our meal and when it finally came not real hot to say the least. Fish batter was so thick and doughy. To many frys. We put in an order for another round of fish as soon as our first order arrived. That took forever again. So we were so ready to get out of there. We saw our waitress twice, once for our drink order and when we asked for the check. It was also to cold in the restaurant. Not a pleasant experience at all. To bad but we won't be back. read more

Forty Niner is a wonderful, but challenging golf course. There are a variety of tees for every level of player and it is nice diversion from desert golf. The pro shop staff is professional and friendly. There are great clinics, private lessons and junior programs available and the are instructed by PGA/LPGA teaching professionals. Even though it is a public course, Forty Niner also provides membership packages including, golf, fitness (in the newly renovated fitness facility), and swimming. The Rincon Grill is open to the public and the food is terrific. read more

Have played the 49ers three times in January. In the best condition in the last five years. Greens are fast and true. Sand traps are good. This is a golf club my husband and I have seen go through the good, bad, and now great. I would recommend the golf to everyone. However, although the food is A+ the service was horrible. We had a scattered waitress who took way too long to not only take our order, but bring it, and then mess that up. I love this place, so we will certainly be back for the golf and food, just not the server. read more
