My large family ordered $150 of food through Deliveroo at 6:14pm, the estimated time until delivery was 50 minutes which seemed fair since we ordered a lot of food. We got an email from Deliveroo saying the order was in the kitchen, and that Fortune Chinese were working on our order. At 7:19pm, Over an hour after placing the order we received an email saying 'Sorry, Fortune Chinese cannot accept your order because they are too busy. No payment has been taken so you can still order from other restaurants' we were absolutely livid, we waited longer than the food was supposed to take to arrive just for them to say no we aren't doing it! They also had taken the money out of our account despite what the email said! We called Deliveroo immediately, they said sorry but the restaurant independently delivers, your money has been refunded and it can take 5 business days to receive. There was no apology or care that the restaurant made us wait a ridiculous amount of time before cancelling the order, or that we would now have to wait over another hour to receive our dinner if we were ordering at another restaurant because our time was wasted. We did not have spare money to pay for dinner twice now that they had taken our money and Deliveroo did not care and implied WE were trying to commit credit fraud - absolutely absurd! After reading Google reviews Fortune Chinese cancel online orders a lot so please don't waste your time ordering online from them! Both Fortune Chinese and Deliveroo are absolutely disgraceful, I cannot believe that these companies are still in business after this atrocious display of 'customer service'. I will never be supporting either of these companies again. read more
