Arrived on time, eagerly greeted and seated nice and quick. As it's a BYO restaurant, we were promptly poured our wine and the bottles set in wine coolers which is a nice change seeing as some restaurants take forever to even recognise you've brought wine. We took our time deciding what we wanted but when we were ready they were also ready to take the order straight away. Entrees came fairly fast and were tasty as expected. Mains took a little longer than i expected but not so long as to have to ask where they were. Mains were also tasty, but still, something i could get from just about any chinese restaurant. Service was good, food was good, price was reasonable. I was happy with the experience and would definitely recommend this place for some nice food with a nice quiet atmosphere without being too overly priced :)

As a man of Chinese descent, I've long lamented the lack of authentic Chinese food on the coast, and Memory taste of Fu Kang goes a long way to rectifying this. The noodle soups are authentic and delicious, and the serving size more than generous (seriously you can share one bowl between two people). The dumplings are a little expensive, compared to what you'll get in other cities, but for the GC they are delicious and plentiful. You definitely won't go hungry! And try the "Chinese hamburger" for a flavour-filled delight. I've brought my parents here when they came to visit, and they loved it. It is a decent location; not on the beach but accessible and near other useful things. Their menu is vegetarian; it also has separate sections to denote the minority of non-vegan items. I will occasionally get a nice tea or other drink from them, but the highlights of my visits have been food. I am not a big fake meat person, but they do a good enough job of integrating them in that I will eat the various strange products that pop up in their dishes. Their ma po tofu is still probably the best rendition I've had in Australia, and the ground fake meat and black pepper give it a desirable heartiness. I was also impressed with their rich curry laksa, and their dumplings and smaller soups are great appetizers. The hardest thing about eating here is that all the time I spend poring through the menu trying to pick another winner I could be spending on the beach. Note: No longer cash only.

The ma po tofu seemed modest in portion size, but perhaps I'm underrating that because it was quite filling, and included not just tofu but an array of fake meats and some peppers (or "capsicum" as the locals say). You're not getting a picture of it, perhaps because I was thrown for a loop by a literal fly in the soup experience. Mind you, in Australia, people aren't big on air conditioning and this place is, like many other buildings wide open, leaving ample opportunity for an enterprising insect to slip in. In any case, I'm not the sort to go on some mindless rage over these types of things, so I'm giving them a bit of a probationary three stars. The prices weren't the cheapest of cheap (especially considering it was at a mall a bit removed from the beach), and while mouthwatering, it wasn't the spiciest of spicy dishes. I'll hope for a better experience in the (entirely likely) event that I visit again in the future.
