We had a recliner reupholstered by Fortner. We were told that they couldn't guarantee the recliner mechanics. They did a nice job on the reupholstery but there is one (cushion) spring that is not properly tied down such that you can feel it touching on your thigh or butt. It's only a matter of time before it will poke thorough the upholstery. They have told our interior designer, that recommended them, that they can't warranty the work since it is a recliner. Of course, the poor craftsmanship has nothing to do with it being a recliner. Now we have to pay someone else to properly complete the work. BTW, the reupholstery was over $2000!!! read more

Unfortunately Fortner no longer does residential work unless it's over $1000. At the beginning of 2020, they replaced the foam in the cushions of my leather sofa and made 2 custom seat cushions for my window seat. Now my 4 leather dining room chairs need new foam in the seats, but alas, they can not help me. Sad. read more

I've had Fortner do reupholstery several times. This summer I had them reupholster a sofa and ottoman and custom make throw pillows. I could not be more pleased. They look amazing! I have these dining chairs that were passed down to me from my grandparents when they both passed away. It is a beautiful set that is in pristine condition. I have hesitated to recover them, fear of not pleasing my parents, would my grandma approve. I was given the challenge of overseeing our office renovation project. At the last hour, we flipped from purchasing new waiting room seating to restoring our existing and adding in custom benches (30 seats total). To add icing to the cake, the project was to be completed in the weeks around Christmas and New Year's. My initial call to Begley was absolutely reassuring. We had a most comfortable chair, but alas it was worn, torn and moldy! Begley's transformed it into a tough beauty that we will pass down through our family. They took time, this is not a place for hurrying, but they really know what they are doing. There are hundreds of choices, patient service people-- we took hours to find just the right fabric. The chair looks and feels brand new. Reupholstering is not cheap, it takes hours and hours, far more hours than I have patience for. But the result was magnificent. I highly recommend patronizing this place, the results are worth waiting for. It took about ten weeks, which was hard to bear, but the finished chair is just beautiful.
