Oh, Lordy. The…read moretraffic was awful, and I'd spotted this place on the way to work, so it was just too tempting on a hot day on the way home. It's adorable- all big trees and cobbles, and the most enormous goat I've ever seen in my life. Everything was planted up pretty, and little old guys scooting up on their mopeds for a scoop. I'm 99% sure this is the best ice cream in the land. You can choose from so many flavours, I had fanuttytastic and carrot cake, the latter was particularly exceptional, but I was also tempted by the white mountain, the banana, the Turkish delight, the sloe and damson gin, the elderflower and rhubarb and the maple and walnut- so I'll just have to come back, won't I?

ERMAHGERD this ice cream is amazing!…read more Seriously, Snugbury's is a one of a kind place. A small little farm-style set up with an onsite creamery and a shop selling no less than fourty, YES - FOUR-ZERO - flavours of ice cream and frozen yogurt. Once you've made your decision you can plonk yourself on the numerous benches or prostrate on the garden lawn (if you overdo it on the cream) and there is also a short country walk if you'd prefer to burn off some of your sugar intake. Every flavour is churned on site and given a suitably cheeky name (think B&J pre-Unilever). They also have seasonal limited editions like Summer Pimms and have previously partnered with a local Cheshire bakery for an apple pie ensemble (with whole apple pie churned into it!). In the interest of research (and gluttony) I opted for the double scoop, one of 'Driving me Cherries', a rich chocolatey flavour packed full of juicy fresh black cherries, topped off with the creamiest coconut ice cream I have ever tasted. Most importantly they give good cone - if you're a selling me an ice cream in a wafer cone, then frankly you can shove your wafer where the sun don't shine! I want a cone of equal calorific value to its contents and Snugberry's deliver with their crisp and sugary waffle cones. A right proper handful. Tactical ice cream tip: the servers are real pro's with their scoopage, filling the cone completely. So if you are going to get a double scoop ask for your favourite flavour first to get the most of it. Am I over thinking this? Possibly. Do I care? Not a chance.

Set on the picturesque Rhos-on-Sea promenade, Nino's has been a fixture for God knows how long. Always packed on sunny summer's days, it has been very popular with locals and visitors alike. I can vividly remember enjoying a cappuccino in Nino's when a was little more than five years old. It's part of the scenery. The decor has not changed in twenty years, but this gives it some sort of retro charm, for me at least. Unfortunately, standards have fallen spectacularly. I recently returned home and went for a meal at Nino's with family. It was appalling. Really bad. So bad that I felt it necessary to post a review. So bad that I really begrudged paying for it. Not only was the place dirty - flies (both living and dead) all over the place, the food was also terrible. The menu clearly stated that the Pizza was made from 'home made dough', and for £10.99, I expected it to be. What I received was a heated up budget frozen pizza with a few olives thrown on top. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that this was a store-bought frozen pizza. For eleven pounds. Disgraceful. Others in my party had fish and chips, which is better value, but their reports weren't good. Frozen fish, canned mushy peas, the usual story. It's a real shame because I always held Nino's in high regard and have recommended it to others many times. Personally, I'll never be back. I have never paid so much for something of such poor quality. A definite contender for the 'worst restaurant experience' I have ever had. A real shame indeed.

I was brutally attacked by a seagull when I was eating my ice cream a few yards from the front of the store. I came back and they pointed to a sign that indicated I should watch for birds. REALLY? I argue that the staff have a moral obligation to warn customers who are not from the area that they risk a seagull attack if they do not consume the ice cream on the premises. I had to buy a second cup of ice cream and they went rather skimpy on the scoop. They knew i paid double for the ice cream and I was injured as well. For shame!

I am the world's slowest ice cream eater and usually the cone will start to drip out the bottom before I'm done but their cone held up well and didn't leak at all. I'd like to add a seagull warning here also (I should have read the review posted 12 hours ago!). As I was contemplating life and enjoying a beautiful day, a vicious seagull swooped in without warning and snatched some cone; I guess the ice cream is so good the local birds always have an eye out for unsuspecting tourists. Fortunately I was mostly done but for future seagulls all you have to do is ask.

Most strikingly through their window, you'll easily see that their speciality is selling beautiful ice cream for your delights (at a cost)! However, you'll find a generous variety of flavours to make your mouth water. My favourite has to be Pistachio, which I found to be just as good as the one I had in Venice. Certainly worth the money if you enjoy it! As well as ice cream and hot drinks, they strangely combine their sweet business by offering a selection of savoury snacks, such as breakfast butties and soups with rolls. These dishes are are a bit pricey but when you consider it's prime location and fine dining experience, it is second to none. Although, saying that, 'geleteria' does sound a bit exotic and unusual, doesn't it? It does sound more enticing than 'ice cream shop' though, so I can see why they'd use that instead. Rich's is primarily a nice little café at the quieter end of Lord Street which offers its customers a pleasant atmosphere in a reasonably-sized area that gives shoppers the chance to take the weight of their feet and have a hot drink and a sandwich or light snack. However, where Rich's really excels is in its range of desserts. As their sign says, Rich's sells ice cream in a variety of flavours and colours, meaning even the fussiest person could find a flavour to suit their tastes (I usually play safe and stick to chocolate myself, but each to their own). Their dessert menu also features a selection of homemade delicacies such as sundaes and huge chocolate éclairs which at three quid are pretty expensive but are definitely worth it, as my éclair-loving friend will testify.
