Tommy called before their scheduled time to make sure it was ok to arrive earlier than planned, him and the crew with him went above and beyond our expectations. Not only did he attempt to find covers for our wells at two different stores but he made sure he talked us through the work that they did today. Tommy's demeanor, positive, and professional attitude was noticed and appreciated! I did not speak with the other workers but they completed the work quickly and efficiently. It is the simple things like rolling up the electrical cord and pump for us that were in the window well for draining purposes, and they made sure the gate was closed. Forte Waterproofing I was brought in to represent friends who were left with a residential home job where concrete was poured two inches or less thick rather than four or five inches on installing a French drain system (interior perimeter drain tile with sump pump). Furthermore, they compacted the peagravel that was on top of the drain tile with water and their feet, by their own admission, rather than with a tamper which is the way to do it. As a result, the concrete has hollow pockets everywhere as the pea gravel would of course settle. The concrete was as thin as 3/4 an inch or less in some places, especially in the corners. The corners were the most hollow, but hollow pockets were throughout and the entire job needed to be redone. They did come to attempt fix it quickly, as they realized they really dropped the ball this time. However, the owner argued with me saying that only a small section in each corner needed to come up that were MOST hollow and that water and feet are a sufficient way to compact pea gravel and that the reason why he only poured two inches of concrete or less (3/4 an inch or less in some places, like under the stairs where left that way the stairs would have collapsed into the drain tile over time ... the concrete was already cracked) because the concrete was two inches thick. When he had the concrete up in a few corners, I measured the thickness of the floor - it was 3 1/2 inches thick in some places and 5 inches thick in others. The owner lied. Of course it benefits him to use less concrete because it is less labor and less materials. The owner went on to say that the basement wall, when reframed, should not be nailed down because he only put down two inches of concrete. The way he explained it, it sounded very much like a pat explaination - a false reasoning he feeds all his customers for why he pours back basement floors at half or less their original thickness. Furthermore, he promised when patching the corners that he would use acrylic compound to bind the new concrete to the old. He did not use any bonding agent, so the patched areas will develop cracking where old meets new over time. He also had promised originally that he would run exterior drain tile an extra 20+ feet around a corner of the house, which he had not, and when he came back he was supposed to run this as originally promised and was paid in full for, but I was told to leave the property as he saw that I was catching all his errors, mistakes and broken promises, so I never saw if he did that or not. The owner talks about an exclusive patent they have - but it is not a huge value added when he explained it to me. He is a good talker and salesman, but his detail orientation and ethics to do a job with integrity is much to be desired. There is absolutely no excuse for not being able to nail a new stud wall to his work. The concrete should be the true thickness of the floor, not half or less the thickness. Imagine how much money he must be making by skimping on concrete materials by half or more for each job. Most people do not know what to look for - he leaves the place clean and floors level enough in most places that the untrained eye would not know any different, but I did, and I caught him red handed skimping on materials by his own admission. Please follow the age old direction of "buyer beware" with this one. They charged $13,000 for this job, which is a full full price - but they sure did not leave the property with a fully complete job. Shoddy original workmanship. Shoddy repair of original workmanship. I am willing to remove this posting if the owner of the company sends the home owner a letter apologizing for his errors and shoddy original workmanship and shoddy repair of original workmanship and a refund of the entire $13,000. read more

I've never had worse service in my life. Back in August, we asked Forte to come out to check out our basement. They scheduled us an appointment out in October. The day before they were supposed to come out, they called saying that they were back logged and couldn't come out for another month. Then the day before they were supposed to come in November, I called multiple times to find out when they were planning to come. They did not call back until the end of the next day saying that they were unable to make it out that day, but they promised they would be there the following day at 5pm. They never showed, after I got off work early to meet them. I don't know how anyone can do business with them given how unprofessional and incompetent they have been throughout this process. They still haven't called back with an apology or excuse for not coming. Completely unacceptable. read more

At every opportunity, Forte would bungle the work on my basement in new and creative ways. Charged for a new pump, they left the old one installed. They uncovered the original drain line was ABS, they left it as-is. It cracked and flooded the basement. They came out and installed a new pump, and ran a new drain line out of the side of the house that drained 20 feet away from the house in the front yard. Yes it was a constant pool of standing water and a hole at the drain line that was growing larger every day. They also used a small section of ABS on the drain line (glued to PVC on either side) that was destined to fail and flood the basement yet again. I have no idea what I'm doing and even I know you can't connect PVC and ABS with glue. How this company is still in business is beyond me, but I'd stay far far away from them at all costs. read more

This co. was scheduled to come to my residence on Fri July 12th at 10 am. This appt was made 2 weeks ahead. I was notified by email at 10:30 at night the night before the appt.that they were not able to come. I had asked specifically that they come at 10 am because I am not a well person and I am not able to function in the morning for them to come at 8am. They agreed to come at 10am....then the night before (after they had known for 2 weeks) the email stated that they couldn't accomodate me because this job they were going to do was an all day job and they didn't want to have to pay overtime to the people doing the job. I have had this procedure done before as have many people I know and it does not take all day to lay visqueen in a crawl space....they said they had to "wash" the crawl space walls....something I and many others have never heard of before.....whatever, it would NOT take all day. Nice to know that their needs come before the needs of the customer. They then changed the appt to fri the 19th at 8am. I had a particularly difficult morning trying to prepare for their arrival while not feeling well at all. I waited and waited and waited...........no phone call.........no show............I think I should be able to charge them a fee for the time I wasted waiting for them to show. This is definitely NOT a co. I would ever recommend to anyone. read more

They worked on our house twice, the first time 6 years ago was fine. The second time, they convinced a prospective buyer of the house that a lot of work needed to be done that was not necessary, but we had to pay $1500.00 to have it done anyway. During the work they cut the control wires to our sprinkler system, tried to fix it, failed, and hid the damage. I had to pay my sprinkler guy to fix it. I paid Forte with a credit card on their system the same day I received the e mail invoice. I was contacted the day after Thanksgiving during our family dinner notifying me they did not show they had been paid. Thank goodness I had their email receipt proving my payment. Beware of unnecessary recommendations and be very sure you keep the receipts!! read more
