Always delicious breakfast and lunch! Friendly and efficient service too! See you again soon! :)

I've been going here for years. I grew up in keokuk and this place is 100% my go-to whenever I'm in town. I highly recommend their food is always awesome and the prices aren't bad at all. It's a great little family diner. Our family even ordered a turkey for Thanksgiving from them one year, it was fantastic and it took so much pressure off alot of families shoulders, especially with how empty the stores are during the Thanksgiving season. They are good people, just making great food read more

Easily the poorest barbecue I've ever had. This place has potential to be good, but it just seems like they don't care.

Wonderful place with awesome food. We were in town with our dog and we sat out front on the patio. Waitress was awesome and even brought our puppy a bowel of water with ice. 10 out of 10. read more

Fort Worth Barbecue Cafe - a black dog on a leash - Fast Food Near Me - Keokuk, Iowa

The Fort Worth Cafe is one of those Hidden Gems. No one would ever find it just driving around town. It's located in what used to be one of the more industrial areas way off the beaten path. Entering the restaurant, you're not going to be overwhelmed. It's just a large room with booths and tables on one side and the kitchen area on the other. Seat yourself wherever you find room. The waitresses are busy. They take your order, bring you your food, and answer your questions. But they are busy and don't chitchat you up. They drop off your bill and you pay at the register. Menus are right at the table. What's best at Fort Worth? The smoked meats. Smoked turkey sandwich, smoked pork loin sandwich, etc. They've got lots of other sandwiches to pick from also. Not to mention sides. French fries, onion rings, mushrooms, cauliflower, Texas toothpicks, etc. If it's fried they have it. The other great thing? The prices. You'll get your sandwich and your side for under $10. Tasty food, great prices. This is why you want to visit Fort Worth Cafe. read more

Nice quaint small restaurant! Off the main strip and quiet area. Friendly staff, good food. Once living in Hamilton IL area many years ago, never knew this place existed but we travel few times a year to Keokuk area and this will be our go to place from now on. Homemade food! Only open until 2 so we try to make it in before closing time. Don't like the chain restaurants? Try this place! read more

A few blocks south of downtown. Breakfast or lunch as only open until 2pm. Half rack of ribs was excellent, as were the sides. Best baked beans I ever had. Pulled pork very good, too. Save room for pie. read more

Full Rack of ribs $21, big enough for two to share, meat was smoked, but the smothered sauce (Cattleman's) distracted from the ribs. Why not serve texas toast instead of bread? Fries were frozen baked variety I think. The service was very helpful and friendly, the atmosphere was nice and the exterior had a cool vibe. It's a base yet that could be so much more. read more

Great restaurant, great prices. They keep the place clean, the staff is very welcoming. The foods great, awesome breakfast. Before my husband went into army we used to have little breakfast dates in the mornings, used to bike there since I didnt live far. Lot of good memories here. read more

I enjoyed a fantastic breakfast here before I moved here. Ir was an amazing breakfast eggs sausage toast everything cooked just perfect to my liking. The waitress was so pleasant and polite and returned many times to make sure everything was alright or if we need anything else. All she seem to care about was her customers and ther needs. I would return their anytime again. I would recomend to anyone looking for a good breakfast along with good service cuz thats what you would get here read more

5 stars for the food, and the food is all you should come for. Service, ambiance, and everything else take a second seat, but that's ok with me! A busy place with tons of locals enjoying the offerings and keeping the staff too busy to offer more than the basics in service. Forget that though! I got the 1/2 rack of ribs, and they were cooked to absolute perfection. The ribs are not fall off the bone - they're much better! Just a little chewing needed to get the most out of them, ya know? I think they would have been the best ever if they hadn't been over salted. What a shame, but they still rank with the best in my book. My wife got a pulled pork sandwich, and said the smoked pork was second only to mine. Pardon my lack of modesty, but that is high praise! I loved the corn fritters, and the other sides were good food service quality. We would not hesitate to come back for the meats, and everything else is ok too. read more

Starting today, June 12, open on Sundays. New items added to menu. Remodeled with more seating. Coconut cream pie very good. read more

Fort Worth Barbecue Cafe - a man taking a selfie - Fast Food Near Me - Keokuk, Iowa

Visiting in town and they bought brisket and it was the most tender brisket. and the bbq sauce was amazing. I love it. I don't live in this town but when I visit I will eat here again. read more

Very good bbq selections. Prices are very reasonable. The staff is friendly. Very nice decor. A western themed restaurant . Location is off the beaten path , but worth going to. They have a variety of daily specials. They also serve breakfast. They open early and close at 8pm. read more

I've went to Forth Worth multiple times and had excellent service but today i was disrespected by (almost) the entire staff. When i called to make a complaint i asked to speak to the general manager or owner and they had me talk to at least three different people. i was yelled at and told i that it was my fault by the woman who claimed to be the "general manager". She tried to argue with me over the phone before i could even explain the situation. then lastly the phone was handed to the "owner" who told me he would "handle the situation" then the conversation was ended. i am a paying customer!!! the REAL owner needs to have a talk with their employees on how to treat their customers. i will not be spending my money there anymore. read more

This little gem is the best place in town. Real home cooked food ,the most amazing creamed peas, fresh brewed sweet tea and a friendly stuff. We recently moved away from Keokuk but, every time we are back in town, we make it a point to stop at the Fort Worth. Order the special and grab a glass of sweet tea. You won't be disappointed!!! read more

The food here is amazing and so is the price! So glad we don't pay attention to the low star ratings.

This is some of the best smoked/bbq meat I've had at a restaurant. Certainly the best priced. I see so many people complain that its packed with locals, but that should be your first clue on how good this place is. I've been here 5 times. Mostly for lunch and once for supper. I've gotten something different each time and I haven't been let down yet. read more

Place was packed at 11:15 with almost all local workers. This is usually a good sign if a place is full. Since it is supposed to be a BBQ place I ordered the burnt tips sandwich. The odd part was everyone else was ordering burgers which should have warned me. The meat was tender but had such a gas flavor from their grill (wherever it was) that it was difficult to eat it. Place is very friendly but if I ever stop in again I will get a burger. They also do accept credit cards. read more

Open during Covid-19, this amazing place has great staff and wonderful food. My father makes the best ribs I know of, and this place fits his taste. That tells you a lot. While we were here, one of the waitresses found a man's keys on the table. The staff kept them safe until he returned to look. The prices are reasonable and the amount of food is filling. Very friendly and helpful environment. Would recommend anyone with almost any budget. Definitely visit and consider ribs or reubens. read more

Pretty good food. Restaurant is not easy on the eyes and looks like it's serving up the blandest Dennys kind of food there is. But, it's got some decent BBQ. I had the burnt ends sandwich, not sure why since I've never been a big fan of burnt throwaway scraps, but whatever. It was good though. Brother ordered the ribs and they were very good. First bite hit you pleasantly, but wore off after a few more since the rub is very salty. read more

Found this place during a quick stop through town. The food was amazing and the prices were unbelievable. If I get back to town, there is no doubt I will go back! read more

Best breakfast around! It is busy on weekend mornings but well worth it! It's nothing real fancy but the food is amazing and the staff is incredibly friendship! My husband has had lunch from there and liked it but I'm a huge breakfast food person. They nail breakfast every time! read more

This place was ok, had a smoked turkey sandwich. It taste good but it was very soft sort of weird. Service was ok , and the place smelt a little weird. Probably won't go back. Maybe for breakfast read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had!!!!!! I am a native Texan, so I was happy to see the state flag and the words bar b que. However, I ordered a coke and it smelled and tasted like a rancid sponge. So I asked for another, same thing, then tea, same thing. Then I ordered the smoked brisket and it was bland, cold, and the bar b que sauce was from Walmart. I am horrified that they stuck my state flag on their sign and have the audacity to think it is ok. They disgrace Texas and should stick to what they know Iowa. Do they even have a health department here? Every restaurant that I have been to here in Iowa is disgraceful. Dirty, practicing unsafe, disgusting procedures. I cannot wait to get out of here. read more
