Instead the tour was mostly silent apart from passengers talking amongst themselves. Adding in this commentary would make it feel more like a tour rather than just a boat ride.

That's definitely not their fault this is why expectations aren't healthy. a little part of me thought it was going to be two awkward hours of me feeling like I was talking too loud Instead, the crew was fantastic, the other passengers were friendly, and for a couple of hours it felt like we had all traveled back in time. It ended up being one of the most enjoyable experiences of our trip. The crew allows passengers to help handle the lines and raise the sails, which was a really cool touch. If that's something you want to do, be quick and be ready because those opportunities go fast! Just an FYI, if you have mobility issues, I would recommend using the restroom before setting sail. The Good: *About a twenty minute drive from gorgeous Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. *Staff was friendly *You're not stuck in your seat for the entire journey as you're free to move about once the boat gets going. *About as close as one can get to the puffins without going on the island they hangout. *Overall, it was a really fun boat ride and you get to see some neat stuff. The Meh: *It's not cheap at $51/adults (13+) and Kids (2-12) *They have a representative from National Audibon on the boat which is awesome--but you can't hear a weird she says thru their archaic "sound" system. Between the waves and engine noise, she could've been reading the dictionary for all we know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Meh: *Their "off-site" parking lot is definitely just that--off-site! It's a good 10min walk from the parking to the pier, but that's not even the worst of it. You have to walk on a two-lane road with almost no shoulder and lots of curves, so definitely be aware of your surroundings. Or it'll coy-tains for you, see? Coy-tains! *And--as if the above wasn't bad enough--they have the gall to charge you $20 for the pleasure of parking there. -_- Conclusion: Fun ocean adventure to see the puffins--but be prepared to crack open your wallet for this pleasure.

Crew and Captain were well-versed in the history of the area. If you had questions they were open to answering or at times making a fun anecdote. So much history of the schooner, Bagheera, and the islands around Portland mainland. They handled the schooner with incredible poise and care. Some folks brought their own snacks and beverages on-board which wasn't advertised, but such a great idea. Definitely colder than I expected when the sun started setting and the winds picked up.
